Throwing back to when I was eating a high-fat, low-carb diet.
And now I cannot imagine my life without carbs. 😂
Lately I've been training a lot harder than before and my body needs and craves them all the time. Like literally, all the time. 🤓
Their main role is to provide energy, as they are the body's main source of fuel ⛽️, needed for physical activity, brain function and operation of the organs. All the cells amd tissues in your body NEED carbs, and they are also important for intestinal health and waste elimination.🙋🏼 #incaseyoudidntknow
And you are probably going to tell me- but I read that carbs make you fat. Nah. Hang in there 😤. Carbs DONT MAKE YOU FAT. There is not a single food that can make you fat. It's all about calories in and calories out. It's a freakin numbers game. And the best thing is to find a balance. 🍪🍌🍳
Buut if you want to try a certain diet or lifestyle- GO FOR IT! I believe trying out is the best way to understand what works and what doesn't work for you. Just don't go to too far or to extremes.🙅🏼
I eat a paleo based diet, but I always say "based" - why? Because I hate restriction and labels. If I crave a bowl of oats, Imma eat a bowl of oats. 👻Otherwise I will eat my yoghurt and fruit or eggs with veggies. 🍳
So my main point here is, find what works for you and stick to eat. Find that lifestyle that makes you feel energized, makes you hit your goals and makes you HAPPY. And just remember that there is no such thing as the perfect diet.👌🏻The perfect diet is out there, but not in the way that you think. There is no one perfect diet that works for every single person on this entire planet. That’s impossible. Each person has a different set of nutritional requirements to keep them healthy. Many diets will sustain you or keep you alive. That doesn’t mean that they are good for you long term. Your perfect diet should not just keep you alive, it should help you thrive. It should give you the best possible intake of nutrients to allow your body to be as healthy as it can be.

Sorry for being absent with my food posts, I swear I am not dead . 😉
I just needed a lil break to figure out some things and goals of mine.
And it is fine because I am coming up with new ideas and a probably a YouTube channel 🙊 Yep, I am the queen of always finding a reason NOT to do a certain thing that is unusual/scary but you know what? There will always be something to stop you , something to make you step back and think whether you are doing the right or the wrong, whether the risk is worth taking etc. And sometimes you just need to do it. Just do it. Dont overcomplicate things that are simple. Or if they are, just accept them and do it again.
Today I woke up and felt like I needed a lil change.🌞 So I went to the mall and got myself a package with henna/it's natural and doesnt do any damage to your hair 💁🏻/ and decided to dye my hair. Nope, I did not plan it. I just like trying out new things and experimenting with my look 👀. And I always love doing something like that when I am planning exciting things. It feels like a fresh start. And screw new year new me . Lets make it new day, new me. Dont wait for the perfect moment. It doesnt exist. Create it. And you'd better star RIGHT now ❤️

Far too often we think that mental strength is all about how we respond to extreme circumstances. 🌴
There’s no doubt that extreme circumstances test our bravery, determination and mental strength, but what about common, daily circumstances?
Just like every muscle in the body, the mind needs to be exercised to gain strength. It needs to be worked consistently to grow and develop over time. If you haven’t pushed yourself in hundreds of little ways over time, of course you’ll crumble on the one day that things get really challenging.
But it doesn’t have to be that way...
Choose to go to the gym when it would be more comfortable to sleep in. Choose to do the tenth rep when it would be more comfortable to quit at nine. Choose to create something special when it would be more comfortable to consume something mediocre. Choose to raise your hand and ask that extra question when it would be more comfortable to stay silent. Prove to yourself, in hundreds of little ways, that you have the guts to get in the ring and wrestle with life.
Mental strength is built through lots of small, daily victories. It’s the individual choices we make day-to-day that build our “mental strength” muscles. We all want this kind of strength, but we can’t think our way to it. If you want it, you have to do something about it ritualistically. It’s your positive daily rituals that prove your mental fortitude and move you in the direction of your dreams over the long-term.
Start now. Dont wait for the perfect moment. It doesn't exist. What you have is the now. Make the most of it.💕
***Full disclosure.....I’ve been dying to try this new dairy free pesto recipe I found so because I’m short on time today I made it at 8:00 in the morning. Fully intending on wrapping it up and having it for lunch.
Ummm, it’s so good I actually just ate it for breakfast!🤗🤗🤗
You know what?? That’s ok! There’s no rule that says you can only eat breakfast foods for breakfast! Because this pesto has veggies in it I got a serving of veggies, healthy carbs and protein and it was delicious. And no, I didn’t eat the whole bowl, I mean, I need to have something for lunch😉
