*Trigger warning my Empathetic friends*
I used to dream of this as a kid, you see?
The rooms of childhood betrayal fill quickly with that one substance that soothes my soul.
Drowning out her voice,
mumbled and I'm at peace now.
Swimming from couch to couch
inhabiting that small space I've never seen before.
Cushions of tiny Universe's I saw in my mind.
And in the mundane bathtub I'd splash for hours with eyes open under water.
Soap or not, I guess.
I had ships and dolls and sometimes those dolls went on those ships.
Moving their hair aside do they could see.
I'd save them and lay out my rescue blanket.
Washclothes of dual purpose.
Yelling in the back round.
Oh here she goes lowering herself into her second world again.
I would test how long I could hold my breath too, you know?
Giving myself a sense of accomplishment because only two days ago I was five seconds less.
I was never good with numbers but my timing is impeccable.
These old hands, they are not yours they are my own.

You know that feeling when you can’t breathe and you drown in your despair.
I am sooo proud and elated to announce that my sister will be publishing her first book of poetry titled: She Is: An Ode to Womanhood! It takes an incredible amount of vulnerability and emotional agility to brave your soul to the world and I am grateful to have such an incredible example and inspiration. The world is in for a huge dose of poetic beauty, black excellence, and a story that is raw, real and healing. ❤
Go follow her to stay tuned: @suhaiyla_a

In March, I was honoured to be invited to paint with educators from the community of Pukatawagan. ❤️🔥🎨 .
So many gorgeous works of art were created, and we were reminded of the importance of finding paths to healing and taking action on our own personal health and wellness, so that we can be great in our very important work with children, youth, and families, every single day. We experienced the power of art and how being creative can help one to feel in balance, to de-stress, to relax, to decrease anxiety. We painted with courage and had lots of laughs too.
Thank you so much for the good work you are doing every day, and thank you for having me to present - it was wonderful and I was in awe of the beautiful art that we created, full of symbolism and power.
We are excited for a connection with GLBL VLLG. .
@lyonzosvillage @glblvllg YOU ARE A LAMP 🔥

💁🏽♀️If you didn't feel all this high energy last week/over the weekend then idk what to say.
Had me and a couple of people I know on edge, on point , pins and needles, ringing ears etc.
☄ I wish I could carry this light always. Funny thing about this picture , right at this moment... I felt it. I knew this light was divine and with it came a message, one I won't soon forget.
🌬Finally coming down and into today's energy.
**💓💋Today definitely take time for yourself. Run a bath, wear a face mask, put on make up,run a mile or two, draw,eat... Do whatever makes you happy and whole.** #swipe#harrypotter#energy#light#divinelytuned#healingthroughart#heartofart#artist#artistspeaks#truth#tru#true#boomerang#eye#eyeseeme
