I posted this to the @soflocharm insta and figured I'd post here, too. I've had questions about "why?" So here it is. I carry because I refuse to be a victim and another statistic. Because even in the best, "most safe" neighborhoods, bad things still happen. Because the average response time for the police is 7-10 minutes, (I read some reports with longer times) and in an emergency situation, there is no time to waste. Being a woman is scary. I've seen way to many headlines with women being attacked in parking lots by sickos. I carry because it is my right. I will defend myself when there is no one there to defend me. #whyicarry
