aaaaand it's here! it's done! i finally replaced the wire cage which i have wanted to do since i first had three hamsters and had to start using it again for Luna.
i'm so happy with this cage, obviously time will tell with quality and so on, but so far i am very impressed and i just really love everything about it. it is 100x50x40cm.
this is the same set up Hazel had in her old cage and all of the same substrate so hopefully she will not feel too stressed and she will settle easy. she will get higher substrate when the birch bedding comes back in stock on rodipet and she is properly settled in her new home ☺️ for anyone interested (Europeans only, unfortunately) i bought this cage on mixerama, it is the 'Hamstergehege Benny' or 'Hamster enclosure Benny'. when i was putting this together i could definitely see how it would be easy to make this yourself as a DIY, it made me think of the cage VanillaHamHam made.
but if you are unable to do this, or like me are physically/mentally disabled and just can't do that, then a cage like this is a great option. you can do all of the work with one screwdriver, although i would suggest a drill with a screwdriver fixture, which would be much faster and cause less pain to you. sadly i didn't have one available to me yesterday 😫 it was worth the work though!!! 😊
i could have just bought another one of my wooden cages that i already have, but i wanted to try out a new cage, and hopefully by doing so i will help others who are looking for new enclosures ☺️🤞🏻 #hamstercare#properhamstercare#hamstergram#hamstagram#adoptdontshop#rescueanimal#rescuehamster
