When I was around 10 years old, I fought a kid from our neighborhood named Lonny over this guitar. It was more of a tug-o-war and an argument than a fist fight. It was in an alley after a neighbor had thrown it away and I jumped on it. Lonny saw it, ran up and tried to take it from me. We tugged and argued over who was going to keep it and I remember the kids coming to my aid. Lonny shoved me and walked off in a huff but I prevailed and that was all that mattered.
This isn’t THE actual guitar but one that looks almost identical to it...as far a I can recall. I know it was an early 1970s Fender Stratocaster Sunburst and the case it was in was lined with a thick purple fabric. I don’t recall what happened to it. Perhaps my parents made me get rid of it since it needed new strings and couldn’t be played without an amp - which I didn’t have nor could afford. Plus I didn’t know how to play.
It began my love of guitars. One that’s lasted all these years. Oh, I wish i still had that guitar today. (I’ll find again.) #Fender#fenderstratocaster#guitars#guitarheros#music#rockmusic#classicrock#loveofriffs#guitarriffs#electricguitars#records#LPs#igdaily#picoftheday
