Parking Lots are more than just paved spaces for cars. They're complex drainage systems designed to move water to safe places that prevent infrastructure damage, environmental systems to keep pollutants out of the environment, and a lot constructed well can last for a long time. See how Clear View Building Services can help you create and maintain your customer spaces. #buildingservices#parking#ecofriendly#construction#greenconstruction
In honor of Earth Day, we give you an inside look at our *brand new* space on Lake Street: the Two Bettys Refill Station and 10 of our favorite tips and tricks for approaching a green construction project!
Setting goals and making/executing a plan is critical for every aspect of life. •
Two years ago, I found myself between a rock and a hard place. The company I worked for decided they no longer needed my position, and also terminated a large-scale project that was being built on my personal property. I was devastated - these events literally turned our lives upside down. My wife was pregnant with our second son, and I had no idea what I was going to do. •
One evening after these events, my wife and I sat down at our kitchen table - we made a list on a huge white board of our talents, interests, goals and desired lifestyle. Having grown up around the trades and tackled numerous personal renovation/construction projects in the past, we decided a career in building would be the best fit for us. We created a five-year plan that included a list of individuals I’d eventually like to work for/be mentored by. •
Fast forward to July of 2017. One of the people I had originally listed on my whiteboard as a potential mentor needed a sub to help with framing custom homes. It’s was a bit of risk on our part, as being a sub required us to start our own company and become ‘self-employed’. Having always worked a salaried position, with benefits, this was a step out of our comfort zone. I started working with Tom that July and have been ever since - he’s a great mentor and a wealth of knowledge. I still have so much to learn from him and look forward to the challenges we face everyday on the jobsite! •
In the meantime, I’ve completed my Dwelling Contractor Qualifier Pre-License course, which allows me to apply to get my license to build single and two-family structures. I don’t plan on building on my own anytime soon, but it was an important part of our five-year plan that I’m happy to have achieved. •
Next on the agenda is to start learning about performance building, net zero energy structure and positive energy buildings! •

What were you doing in 1984? We were at the ZOO, tooling up for #groundbreaking ! This was a very exciting day as David #Hankins stands with Superintendent, Wally Kolkmeier, anxious to get construction moving 🐒🐸🦁🐮🐗
Can you see the fully-functional retaining wall in this picture? No? That’s because the vegetation in this #smartslope system has grown out, replacing what would normally be a hardscape with a landscape.
Finishing up the interior flatwork at #fortleonardwood Army Base. Our projects are better because of our team! Thanks to #WeddellConcrete for supplying the 15+ man crew out here, to knock out the entire building in one day! Meeting (and beating)our clients schedule. #designbuild
