Today is my third day of paddling against the flow of water on the River Severn. It makes it noticeably harder, but not impossible! This is a completely different environment to what I’m used to - glassy flat water and a new set of wildlife. I’ve exchanged dolphins and seagulls for swans and curious cows! And so many ducklings!
I’m finding a ridiculous amount of plastic bottles floating in the river here, on their way out to sea. I maintain that one of the simplest things we can do to reduce our plastic footprint is commit to a refillable water bottle, and ditch single use plastic water bottles for good. Over the next few months while I’m paddling up to John O’Groats, do you think you could pledge to do this?
@kleankanteenuk have some really lovely, durable bottles and are so supportive of our efforts to rid the oceans of plastic. If you’re unsure where to refill, as I appreciate is can seem a little daunting, check out the Refill App: it’s free and lists places nearby that are happy to top up your bottle for free, no questions asked 🤗

#115 Game Management 👁🗨💭
Game 6 of #7days7games :
1️⃣ Game state strategy - Chasing a goal v Defending a lead
Rule/Constraint: Your team can only score when the game is tied or you are losing. Example, first team to score has to defend the 1-0 lead. The other team have X amount of time to score an equaliser. If this happens, the game carries on. If they can’t score then give them some sort of punishment (Something fun, for little kids losing team has to sing twinkle twinkle little star or smell a bib for 5 seconds 😆, older kids/adults losing team can bring oranges for half time)🍊.
Differentiation: Amount of you have to get the equaliser. Overload one team, defending with a player down.
Game sense is often difficult to teach. How to slow a game down can be a foreign concept to younger players who would just normally play as fast as they can 🏃♂️🏃♀️
Hopefully this game helps!
Two strong teams out over the bank holiday weekend, we have a fixture on Sunday, which the weather is unfortunately not looking so good for and an all day game at Northwood, also with mixed weather due! Hopefully we get enough cricket to get two more W’s 💪🏻
