A 1976 comics adaptation of John W. Campbell, Jr. 's 1938 story "Who Goes There?" which was adapted to film as "The Thing From Another World" by Howard Hawks in the 50s and "John Carpenter's The Thing" in the 80s. This is a very faithful adaption by Arnold Drake with art by Jack Abel.
Movie fans will note this is much more similar to Carpenter than Hawks.
From my copy of Starstream no. 1, 1976. There were 4 volumes of this title, all issued at the same time. Each featured faithful adaptations of classic science fiction stories.
Western Publishing (Gold Key). These need to be reprinted!

Before it was a television show, it was a Comic book! 'Space Family Robinson LOST IN SPACE' published by Gold Key Comics in 1962, when the Lost in Space TV series debuted in 1965, it was obvious that it was inspired, at least in part, by the comic book, but CBS had never acquired the license from Western Publishing. Rather than sue CBS or producer Irwin Allen, Western decided to reach a settlement that allowed them to use Lost in Space for the title of the comic book. Since CBS and Irwin Allen licensed shows to Western, Western didn't want to antagonize them. #spacefamilyrobinson#therobinsons#lostinspace#swissfamilyrobinson#lostinspacecomic#lostinspacecomicbook#scifi#classic#60s#60scomics#comicbook#comicbooks#classiccomics#neat#history#retro#sciencefiction#classicsciencefiction#space#comicpages#goldkeycomics
