Yesterday I shared on my story my book I’ve been reading that’s really helped connect me and Brandon - without “talking about it” ...
A few weeks back, stepping up to that countertop, setting my book down - I was nervous as hell to look up. See here I am, buying a self help book on how to improve my marriage, wondering what the older cashier is thinking.
“How to improve your marriage without talking about it” has done much of that for Brandon and I this past month.
But mainly for me.
Ever feel like you’re just talking to talk? ...or maybe what you’ve been saying, is like you’ve been stuck on repeat?
This book has been one of my favorite reads for relationship guidance because it explains the difference of a male and female from the earliest stages of life, up through adulthood.
There’s no finger pointing, or self blaming through any of the 213 pages, just true relationship challenges - and the clear valid side to both of them.
“Love is not about better communication. Love is about connection.” Who doesn’t want more of that in their lives? 💕
If you’re someone who’s in a relationship, married, or maybe just getting out of one... I highly recommend this book! What do you appreciate most about your loved one? 👇🏼 (you don’t have to have any ‘issues’ going on to love it and find value from it!) *checkout my story for the book & details on it
GRLPWR 4 fucking ever✌🏻✌🏻
Though this trip has been one of the best ever (still not over yet), I must admit i expected more from the men.
I got literally pet several times in Amsterdam (but I attempted to let it go because I was wearing sequins and these fuckers were probably on shrooms), but then I got to Belgium which is allegedly a “safe” country (no one was too worried about me traveling solo here, but Colombia or Thailand? Forget about it!), and my first encounter with a man was someone who looked well kept together in a suit, who harassed and heckled me for a 20 minute bus ride, eventually telling me I’m a young girl who doesn’t know anything.
20 minutes is a long time to feel uncomfortable, and no the reasonable solution is not “well you shouldn’t have gone alone.” The reasonable solution is for entitled white men to stop targeting young females in order to feel powerful, Bc this guy didn’t look the least bit threatening- I would’ve sat right next to him if the seat was open.
I’ve still had a wonderful time, but I have NEVER experienced treatment like this; attention is always garnered from being a solo traveling chick but never so often in the way it’s been reciprocated here.
I’m not anti-men by any means; a dude at a chocolate shop complimented my Simpsons tattoo, and a bartender gave me a free beer for the very same tattoo (the Belgians love the Simpsons I guess)— but to the entitled psycho paths out there who feel it’s ok to touch or harass or treat women or anyone less than human, get thy shit together.
Where to find cherry blossoms in Copenhagen?
Thanks to one of my readers who asked about this a few weeks back, I started researching this question. 🔻Right away, go ahead and save (+like) this post for later when you embark on your cherry blossom hunt 🌸 .
1. Bispebjerg Kirkegård is #1 place to experience this phenomenon on a scale! But be ready to push through the crowds. As you see on the pictures, it will be packed! .
2. Kongens Have is a great place to see cherry trees but also other beautiful flowers.
3. Islands Brygge has a line of white cherries next to Langebro and pink ones close to Bryggebroen.
Want more places? Head to my new article on where to find cherry blossoms in Copenhagen to see the full list! Link in bio 👆🏻 .
