Here’s your daily reminder to do one thing every day that scares you. Inversions used to scare the SH*T out of me because I was worried about my “weak” wrists and was worried about falling. However, since finishing my yoga teacher training (shout-out to @ashevilleyogacenter - miss you @the_tao_of_kim!) I’ve been practicing bit by bit to get more comfortable with them, and even though my form is FAR from perfect (my feet were actually off the wall I promise - IG just wouldn’t let me crop it that way 😂), it’s still really satisfying to be scared of something and do anyways. Life happens outside your comfort zone friends!✌🏻

Thursday’s are payday in my world and whoa🤭 this week alone was more than I used to make in a month- hello growth and unlimited raises. Yup- you heard that right- our compensation plan doesn’t cap out, you can keep giving yourself raises depending on your effort and skill! 💰 
That’s awesome because money opens opportunities and FREEDOM. For me, freedom to be home with our future family yet still earn income, fun money for travel and experiences and spoiling the F outta loved ones. For you—maybe you’d like to pay off your student loans or save for a house?! 🏡 It’s possible, with hard work this could be a great side hustle or even build to full-time- I mean there are already people earning 6-7 figures 😲 year after year, why not you?

I know some people don’t care about money but it’s so much more than that—

He looked at me and said “you have been aggressive this whole time, not once have you diverted from our course, total healing will take time. Look at how much better you are already!” •Sometimes we are so focused on the end game🔭 we forget to look around and see the progress we have already made. 📈

Here is an example from a DUTCH hormone panel of why your diagnosis of "adrenal fatigue" may be completely incorrect. 👎

See the "Metabolized Cortisol" and the "24hr Free Cortisol"? See how Metabolized Cortisol is quite high whereas the Free Cortisol is edging down toward the lower end of normal? What this means is the person is pumping out a lot of cortisol from the adrenal glands, (Metabolized Cortisol) - so they're having no issue making it - but the body is choosing not to keep it around in its available form, (which is Free Cortisol - this is the only kind that enters cells and affects tissues). The body is likely doing this as a protective mechanism, (too much cortisol cursing through your body is a problem). 🙅‍♀️

If you do a saliva test you only get the FREE cortisol reading and hence, you are completely missing the other half of the puzzle: Metabolized Cortisol. So you may have been diagnosed with "adrenal fatigue" because your practitioner only saw low levels of free cortisol. In reality, you are making a shit-ton of cortisol and so the protocol you're on may be aimed at elevating your cortisol further = BIG MISTAKE.

This image here is an example of a CLEARANCE problem NOT an adrenal problem. Why would we see this type of pattern? Maybe an infection (the body is trying to keep cortisol low in order to deal with said infection), obesity, insulin resistance, and hyperthyroidism are all possible reasons we see this type of pattern on a DUTCH test. For this client we did a GI Map too and wouldn't you know it: h pylori was lurking inside her gut contributing to this pattern we see here. Doing both a DUTCH hormone test AND a GI Map stool test is a great starting point when it comes to getting an accurate picture of what's going on with your health. 👍

Your body has to metabolize chemicals to make them non-toxic. But these man made chemicals = no bueno 😵

Eventually they’re stored within the cells and cause damage to the biochemical reactions and even disrupting the energy production plants (mitochondria) and DNA replication

Mutations occur (like X-men, except you don’t get super powers). Cells are damaged which leads to organ dysfunction. This is when you “feel” it. This is dis-ease. This is when your MD gives you medications.

So back to the question...do we need to detox. The answer is YES and NOT REALLY. We have to help get rid of some of the chemicals, but more importantly help the body produce healthy new cells. .
The major toxins I see that cause the most damage are heavy metals, pesticides and mold. These are the ones we focus on...and we can get really specific in helping to get these guys out.

What an AMAZING hot yoga practice this morning 🙏🏼 for far too long I’ve been focusing on how many calories burned, instead of LISTENING to my body. I started seeing the functional medicine doctor last week and yup it’s confirmed - all of my good gut bacteria is wiped out from that 10 year antibiotic. So now the focus is to restore my gut bacteria and restore my mind. There is going to be a LOT OF CHANGES HAPPENING OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS, including becoming a married woman! So we take it one day at a time. Change is GOOD. I’ll be sure to continue sharing my journey here. 💕

I am a morning person so I get asked a lot what motivates me to get out of bed and start my routine. It’s really a variety of things but I will say the more you do it, the easier it gets. A book 📚 that I highly recommend is “The Miracle Morning”- I guarantee you if you start incorporating some of those practices into your life you will be blown away by how happy, energetic, productive and at peace you are! 🌟

Anyways lol, a few tips! —

1. Get enough sleep 💤 If you struggle falling asleep try listening to a guided sleep meditation or reading before bed. 7-8 hours. 
2. Lay your workout clothes out. Pick an outfit you love. 
3. Put your alarm across the room. Just a lil extra insurance lol 
4. Make some coffee ☕️ I have my natural pre-workout too⚡️
5. Let some natural light in if you can to give you energy. 
6. Make a healthy breakfast. My recent obsession is an oatmeal pancake with peanut butter. 
7. Find a workout buddy or community. I workout virtually online with my Fitclub and team so I know they’re waiting for me. 
8. Put on some music. Can actually help you push harder and longer in your workouts. 
9. Workout at home. If you’re short on time, the streaming service I use is the most convenient thing ever. Literally walk into the room, press play and go! 💜💜💜

Yes, it's true.  There is a lot of research out there on this topic.

High levels of LPS (Lipopolysaccaride a bacterial endotoxin) is a marker of transcellular leaky gut.  It connects heart disease and the gut to systemic inflammation. It becomes even worse when there are higher levels of toxicity in the body, ie. Heavy metals.
------
LPS is a result of a process which happens within the gut, when a white blood cell creates phagocytosis (engulfs bacteria) and goes through excocytosis an endotoxin is released.  This is our immune system cleaning up the bacteria.
------
LPS the endotoxin may be measured in the blood.  This creates systemic inflammation throughout the body.  Visualize this; your intestines stretch out the size of a tennis court and inflammation is found throughout it.  Do you not think this will have an impact on the rest of your body?  You sure as hell know it will.
------
When LPS is high, Diamine Oxidase (DAO) which is an enzyme produced in the microvilli will be low.  DAO is the enzyme responsible for degrading histamine.  Very important!
------
When DAO is low, the microvilli will have atrophied (shrunk) in size.  This is another form of leaky gut.
------
This makes people very reactive to many things.  For the practitioner helping them it may be quite confusing as one day they could eat a fruit or veggie with no ill effects then two days later eat the same food but get a histamine response (itchy skin, sinuses running, eyes itchy or a small cough). Why is this?  Cause, the longer a food degrades (meaning less fresh), the greater the levels of histamine will be in the foods. ------
So, as you can see this inflammatory process is a viscious cycle that begins in the gut and spreads everywhere via the blood stream.  From that point nerves and the lymphatic system will be affected as the entire body is a single unit, fully connected and intertwined.

Das bin ich noch im Januar letzten Jahres...
Ich hatte da schon viel erreicht. Die Fatigue war viel besser, die schlimmen Angstzustände waren weg, ich konnte wieder einigermaßen schlafen und mein Leben eigentlich ganz normal leben.
Lange Zeit habe ich versucht mir einzureden, dass das körperlich nun eben mein neues ich ist. Ich habe all meine alten Sachen entsorgt und versucht mich damit abzufinden. Aber tief in mir drin, war ich überhaupt nicht glücklich mit meinen Körper und meinem äußeren Erscheinungsbild.
Zudem war meine körperliche Leistungsfähigkeit und meine Kondition erheblich eingeschränkt und meine Lust an Bewegung ebenfalls.
Mit Dingen wie beide Kinder die Treppe hoch tragen war ich definitiv überfordert und oft quälten mich Glieder- und Muskelschmerzen.
Als ich eine Dokumentation über den Alpenwanderweg E10 gesehen habe, hatte ich einen Aha Moment. Den wollte ich immer wandern, doch in meiner momentanen Verfassung würde ich dazu niemals in der Lage sein.
Also beschloss ich, dass ich einen letzten Versuch wagen wollte (und glaubt mir ich hatte schon viiiiieeeel versucht). Ich began zu recherchieren und mich damit zu befassen, was für SD Erkrankte hinsichtlich des Gewichts so besonders war und wie ich Stoffwechsel, Kraft und Energie zurück gewinnen könnte.
Tja, was soll man sagen, das Ergebnis könnt ihr jeden Tag in meinen Bildern bewundern. Nur „leider“ musste ich mir eine komplett neue Garderobe zulegen. Gut, dass mein Mann bei Zalando arbeitet.

Food doesn’t seek perfection.  It’s not always shiny, unblemished and picture perfect.  Plants grow in soil and absorb water and nutrients, qi, and essence.  So do animals that walk, swim or fly.  According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, our earth is the digestive system.  The main organs that correspond to our gastrointestinal (digestive) system are the spleen and stomach.  The spleen is the yin organ and is involved in the transformation of qi from the food we eat and drink.  The spleen transforms food along with air from our lungs to produce qi.  It also sends nourishment to the heart to generate blood.  The spleen is the root of our acquired energy.

The spleen is paired with its yang organ, the stomach.  The stomach is the sea of grain and water and controls the further transformation and transportation of food.  It sends qi downward and distributes it to the rest of the body.  The stomach is also the origin of fluids. ☯️ In Five Element Theory, the spleen and stomach correspond to earth.  Earth qualities include pensiveness, sweetness, the muscles, the mouth, the end of summer and the transition of the seasons. Circadian rhythm (one’s day and night cycle) is SO important to optimal health and wellbeing.

When one’s day and night rhythms get out of whack, the HPA-axis becomes dysfunctional.  This will lead to a slew of issues such as blood sugar imbalances, low stress resilience, unstable moods, energy crashes, weight loss resistance, and more.

I (Jennifer) do best when I am asleep by 10:00 pm in a pitch dark room and awake by 6:30-7:30am to the morning sun.

Many things can disrupt this natural rhythm with blue light being at the top of the list.

For this reason, I am taking more and more measures to reduce and ultimately eliminate blue light and other unnatural light exposure (from TV, computers, cell phones, house lights, etc) once the sun goes down.

This photo is of a Himalayan salt lamp.  Last night, my husband and I turned off all lights, TV’s, etc about an hour after the sunset.  We flipped this light on, then lit a couple bees wax candles, and played cards instead of zoning out to the TV.

Not sure how often we will do this but we both had the best night sleep that we have had in a long time.😴😴😴😴

A N X I E T Y ❤️ This is something I’ve held inside for so long. Lately I’ve opened up so much & am very grateful for it. From my early teens I have experienced being anxious for things that shouldn’t matter, panic attacks, troubles with decision making, etc. .
Stress is something that comes naturally in today’s modern world, but with time and daily practices, I’ve found ways to naturally reduce/manage my anxiety. . 
1. Before checking my phone in the morning, I have a conversation with the universe & God about what I am truly grateful for in life and the day that’s ahead.

2. Stretching & deep breathing every morning & night. 
3. Daily long walks by myself or one of the dogs. 
4. Keeping a routine & waking and sleeping at the same time each day. 
5. Meditation 🧘‍♀️ 6. Nourishing my body with foods that are okay for those with anxiety to consume. Low sugar, moderate carbohydrate intake, etc. 
Everyone is different. Find what works for you. The gut is the 2nd brain and is easily affected if there are continuous high levels of stress/anxiety. Angry mind = angry gut aka leaky gut. ❤️ .

Each choice made has an impact. I didn’t know when I chose to care for my body I’d also be choosing to learn more about the human body, foods, nutrition etc. It all just keeps flowing into the next and next choice ( think of all the ways this happens in life). I never thought the process of caring what I put into my body would teach me more about myself, or would make me appreciate the natural food this earth creates, or that it would provide a deeper gratefulness.
