This is a friend of mine... He's a co worker as well... He has a beautiful wife and perfect kiddos... I'm asking that everyone please take some time to pray, send Good vibes (or whatever you do) for him and his family.. He started chemo and is about to kick Leukemia's ass.. Chico, you know I got you.. if y'all need ANYTHING, you know my number
It's tough to start over but I think what's great is the opportunity for new adventures and experiences. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and yes, sometimes those reasons suck.
It's important to remember that saying goodbye doesn't have to be forever. People change, grow and drift apart and that's okay; we are human. Life has to move on, and sometimes the end isn't pretty or doesn't happen the way you thought it would but nevertheless, it is the end.
An update to my Great Cycle Challenge as I was waiting to talk to the Sellingers first :) - https://greatcyclechallenge.ca/Riders/AlexanderPatton
In June I will be taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to raise money in support of the Sick Kids Foundation. The money is used for research to fight childhood cancer.
I will be taking part in memory of Dean Sellinger. Dean was my neighbour while growing up in Chilliwack and the little brother of one of my best friends (Hi Sayla!). After I started attending St. Mary's up until the time the Sellingers moved away, I spent most of my time at their house.
Dean lost his battle with cancer at the age of 14 in 2006. However, he has not been forgotten and has remained an inspiration to me to this day. I will always remember him with his sense of humour, his kind heart, and his immense faith.
I have just started cycling (don't think I have been on a bike since around 2006...) and so my challenge is 300km in the month of June. I am hoping to raise at least $500 if not more!
If you are able to donate, please do so at https://greatcyclechallenge.ca/Riders/AlexanderPatton - donations are tax deductible as well!

Just another mom appreciation post. Tomorrow she is going into surgery to have a double mastectomy. You are going to have a long road ahead of you, but I know you can make it through. Life has thrown some crazy things your way and you always preserved and came out stronger in the end. I know that you will kick cancers ass because let’s face it, you kill people. 🤷🏼♀️ I love you so so so much. ♥️ #fuckcancer
Repost from @1amthefuture - Finally ! I'm feeling good enough to post, unfortunately last 7days for me was really really bad and I thought I will die from throat pain and sinus pain, but thanks G-D I'm here and this is for a reason....

I HATE CANCER ! and I'm ready to fight it.
G-D BLESS YOU PEOPLE WHO HELPED ME AND TAKE A BIG PART IN SAVING MY LIFE AND HELPING ME TO GET $ MEDICINE,IF NOT YOU I WOULD BE DEAD 4MONTHS AGO

FYI, pic #2 is kinda gross but it’s real. 4 years ago, today I found out I had melanoma. Since these pictures were taken, I’ve had 3 more spots removed due to melanoma. Crazy thing is, the first time they removed some spots and found it, I ended up getting super sick with MRSA staph. It’s no joke, and sometimes even now I tend to forget how fast things can change. Since it’s SUMMMAAAAA TIIIMME...even if you tan easy or just fry, lather up that sweet skin with SPF. Your future self with thank you. #melanoma#cancerisasuckaaaaa#fuckcancer
So for those of you that didn’t...or couldn’t...make it out tonight (And I know who you are.....) you have another chance this Wednesday!! Come to Buffalo Wild Wings in Newburgh. It’s going on ALL DAY!! Dine in AND take out!! 20% of the bill goes to Aryn!! Just save the pic of the vouchers on your phone and show it when you get there. Come on..watch the #Yankees win and the #Mets lose all while donating to an amazing cause!! I’d say it’s a no brainer💖🎀
LOVE WINS!!!!! I am so happy to hear that my friend Renee Hope has kicked cancers ass. When I heard of her diagnosis I sent her this Love Wins charm. I started making these two years ago as a fundraiser as I helplessly watched a close friend slip out of this world. Although “charms” might not be the answer they are a reminder of the strength we can carry. When everything that we are is gone, our love remains, echoing through time, carried by those we loved. In this way love wins over cancer every time. .... #lovewins#fuckcancer#fuckcancer 🎀
Happy birthday, Geoff 💜I miss you. If anyone would like to support me on my walk against cancer in October, follow the link in my bio to make your donation. I am walking for Geoff, my step dad who we lost to lung cancer in 2016. It would mean the world to me. Thanks x
Friday night thoughts:
Second round of chemo (2/9)
Make the most of this week
Much like a lot of people sunday evening can seem a little somber with a week of work ahead and a early start tomorrow. I am feeling that for sure for this week being the start of my second round of chemo, and i know but thursday through untill wednesday week i will feel like shit, BUT that just means I need to make the most of the few days ahead that I will feel much like my normal self.
I had a great weekend a Visit from @shasdevil a very close friend and my first SCUBA instructor who taught me everything I know about breathing beneath the waves and even some life lessons along the way, and then some time spent with some great people and lots of coffee with Mum and Zena
No matter what sort of week you're looking at we all have challenges mine no greater then anyone else's.
I have always found breaking things do into simple achievable tasks helps your mind not become overwhelmed. For me really what do I have to do this week..? take 4 tablets a day (more depending on my nausea).. Have plenty of rest.. Hydrate.. eat well? sounds easy? well break it down and it is!
I hope everyone has a great week and have had a great weekend
We all have out own battles and yours is no greater then anyone else', that said be mindful that others have theirs too and they can deal with it differently to you. There is no right or wrong just cause and effect
