Oh, sweet loveys.
You never really know which one will be *the one*. The one that travels wherever they go. The one that comforts any hurt. The one that brings joy. The one they'll always want to remember.
Krystal graciously invited me along on her birth journey, but she ended up having her son a month early and I couldn’t make it to the birth, so I joined them a day later for a Fresh 48 session to capture their little wonder of the world and his tiny toes and I couldn’t be more grateful.
I’ve had a few messages lately about supporting people through loss, and specifically childloss, so I wanted to share my Bereavement Doula website below and let everyone know they can contact me through my website anytime for support, or questions on how to support loved ones in their grief.
One of my favorite styles to shoot is raw, simple, unposed photography. The more I've gotten into family though, I've realized you need a lot of posing to help get people what they want and help them feel confident. But when I can still capture emotion that comes apart from the camera I'm all... 😍✨... this one here, this is a gem. It speaks for itself.
@southernmotherhoodmag has published this beautiful Helton baby's fresh 48 portraits and we are so honored! Y'all go check out the feature!
I’ve been a little quiet on social media over the last week since our little man has arrived. It’s been challenging keeping up with posts with the demand of doctor appointments and daily blood draws. I haven’t really talked about how our little guy has been battling jaundice since day one. As soon as we think we have control over his levels- they end up rebounding higher than before. Our poor little guy has been under the blue lights since we’ve been discharged from labor and delivery and we just can’t wait to hold him without the worry that he is getting sufficient amount of light to get rid of the extra bilirubin stored in his little body. After almost two weeks of blue lights, his levels may be finally going down- for good! 🤞🏻 Thank you to all family & friends who have reached out and showered us with support over the last two weeks! Hoping to get back to norm soon!! 💙 ps- thanks to my adorable Instagram/photographer hubby for capturing a few shots of me in front of the lens!
Two minutes old and holding his first love’s hand for the first time. Could you just melt into a puddle on the floor? 😍💞 And he doesn’t know it yet, but no matter where his life takes him, she’s never going to let go of that hand. 💙 #momslove
You guys. This grandpa was SO PROUD. The minute he held his new grandson for the first time his entire face lit up. He looked at me, beaming and said "this is my first grandson"! He asked his wife to grab his "Pops" hat for him. I was almost in tears as I watched him in awe of this new life that he gets to call grandson. I love my job. #fresh48#houstonfresh48#houstonfresh48photographer#houstonnewbornphotographer
