A legand resurrected, Ford will build 10 copies of the 1967 Mustang GT500 Super Snake👀👀 It's all the rage now for a car company to make an 'old' car new but still keep it old. Take aston martin for expample, making 25 track only DB4 GT cars at £1.5 million. Its a crazy asking price to some considering it uses 50s technology and you could easly buy a hypercar for that money which actually can be driven on the road legally, but some people have been dreaming to own such cars and if they've got the money its a great opportunity.
Well Ford have decided to give this ago, with the Super Snake. 10 models will be built and each car will feature its own VIN number. Also each car will get plaques with Carol Shelby's and Don McCain (founders of shelby) autographs on it. The car thankfully doesnt cost half a million or more. It only costs £186,000 which is reasonable for such a legand.
The car will feature a classic 4 speed manual gearbox, a 550hp small block V8, the customer's will be able to choose between aluminium or cast iron piston assembly. They will also get a drum brake system as its 51 year old ancestor did, and ford want this new car to feel 51 years old.
The exterior will get trademark shelby stripes running down from the bonnet to the boot lid.
The original Super Snake was built to test a tyre project by Goodyear and had 500hp. 📸📸 motortrend.con
