Not a big fan of #veggies ? It might just boil down to how you prepare them! 🍃Experiment with roasting, grilling, steaming, sauteing or even eating them raw! Each one will create its own distinct flavour in the veggies you’re preparing! 🍃Try mixing up the spices, fresh or dried herbs and even the oils you use! Olive oil will create a completely different flavour profile than ghee or coconut oil! 🍃Serve them alone or try combining them with other flavours! You could try eating them with legumes, grains, dressings or dips, you could mix them up into a big salad, grate them into fritters or even blend them into a smoothie with some fresh fruit! Get creative and have fun with it! 🍃And our biggest tip: Don’t give up! If you find you aren’t a fan of many vegetables, keep experimenting and trying new ones until you find the flavours that work for your palette! (Our personal favourite right now: Fresh mixed veggie slices tossed in olive oil and herbs, then grilled to perfection!) What are your favourite ways to prepare veggies?

When it comes to meat and fish as my protein source, I like to vary it throughout the week 🍽✔️ Different sources of protein contain different essential vitamins and nutrients. Red meat is rich in vitamin B12 and iron whereas fish like salmon or sardines are high in omega-3 fatty acids📝 Eating too much of the same foods over and over again not only gets boring but can lead to dietary deficiencies. Here is what I usually choose from:
Chicken or turkey 🍗 - white meat is the leanest choice, but I wouldn't give up on dark meat if you skip the skin. Both chicken and turkey give you about 22-25 grams of high-quality protein, along with B vitamins and selenium. Chicken is also easy to cook.
Beef 🥩 - lean meat delivers up to 27 grams of protein, along with a healthy dose of iron, zinc, vitamin B12 and numerous other nutrients.
Pork 🍖 - contains branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), which are key in supporting muscle recovery. If you choose lean pork, it is not that high in fat.
Shrimp 🍤 - type of sea food very low in fat (only 0.3g per 100g of shrimp) and gives you 24 grams of protein. It is reach in vitamin D, niacin, selenium and vitamin B12. Moreover, shrimp contain antioxidants such as astaxanthin, which reduces inflammation and oxidative damage.
Cod 🐟 - is a great source of vitamins B3, B6 and B12, as well as omega 3 fatty acids, all of which provide benefits for heart health. Additionally, cod contains selenium, magnesium and potassium. it is packed with protein (18 grams), low in calories and has little fat.
Salmon 🐠 - it supplies iron, zinc, niacin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12, in addition to a whole host of other nutrients you need for good health. It tends to be very high in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
I recommend you to vary your protein sources by incorporating fish, red meat, chicken, turkey, sea food but also eggs, beans, vegetables and dairy to keep you feeling great and covering all your dietary deficiencies. Mixing things up a bit also keeps your diet interesting and let you perform at your best 🤗

💛 I love that my little munchkin finishes up my turmeric cashew ice cream, that she wants to do yoga before bed, and sips her green smoothie like there is nothing better in the world AND that she can count in 6 languages, that she loves kebabs, and that she knows the difference between ⚽️🏀🏈⚾️🎾 . She’s the perfect combination of us @armanzand 😍
stinging nettles and spring onion pizza | After watching the pizza episode of @uglydelicious and then seeing the @bonappetitmag cast iron pizza method, I couldn’t stop craving pizza. I found some nettles and blanched them in salted water. I put olive oil and salt on the dough laid down some parmesan, sliced spring onions, the nettles and then more cheese. I put the pizza in a preheated 10 in cast iron past (30 min at 500 in the oven) and then returned it to the oven for 14 min. I forgot how good homemade pizza is ✌🏻🍕
PEACE, LOVE, + PARSLEY! ✌🏾♥️🌿 .
Parsley is not only a garnish, it is an amazing herb filled with vitamins and minerals. There are many reasons why you should add parsley to your grocery list. Here are my top 3!
Parsley can stimulate appetite and improve digestive processes within your body. It is full of enzymes that aid in the proper breakdown of food during digestion.
It is also rich in a variety of different vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that are beneficial for the absorption and proper utilization of the food you eat.
Compounds in parsley cleanse and detoxify the kidneys, liver and bladder. The herb is also a natural diuretic that can help to relieve water retention and bloating.
2️⃣Parsley Benefits Your Skin
Eating it is also a great way to get many of the important nutrients for healthy skin and hair into your diet. Parsley is rich in vitamin C which is needed for collagen production, clearing up blemishes and maintaining good skin tone.
The very high levels of vitamin K in it may also help improve skin’s elasticity and appearance as well as speeding up wound healing and reducing redness.
3️⃣High Mineral Content
Parsley is a good source of three of the major minerals – calcium, magnesium and potassium.
Magnesium is especially important as many people in the USA and across the Western world have a magnesium deficiency. Calcium and magnesium metabolism are closely related, so there is little value in having large amounts of calcium in supplements without adequate magnesium as well.
Parsley is especially rich in the mineral iron. It also contains good levels of manganese and copper. These three minerals are necessary for building healthy blood cells and the herb is known as one of the best blood builders and cleansers available.
Get some parsley in yo liffffeeee 😋 #nutritarian .

Genetically modified organisms, or GMOs, are one of the most controversial and misunderstood topics in the food world today, and one that's close to my heart. Are GMOs as dangerous to health as some people claim? Or are they going to save the world, as biotech corporations would like us to believe? My friends and colleagues, John & Ocean Robbins, answer those questions and more in a well-researched special report that reveals what everyone needs to know about GMOs. Download your free copy here or see link in bio - we all deserve to know the truth about GMOs! https://rootandrevel.com/FoodRevGMOs
