Simple. Quick. Easy. That's what I need today. I learned last night, the hard way, that I'm very allergic to raw garlic 🤢😷 I made cauliflower mash and wanted a deep garlic flavour so I added it raw when I put the cooked cauliflower into the food processor with the cream cheese..... Apparently, that was a very bad idea. My stomach swole up in less than an hour, I got a massive migraine, and everything smelled and tasted like garlic for the next 18 hours. I looked like I was 5 months pregnant! Felt about as well, too, lol. The eggs and avocado made me feel better today. I'm going to study something called FODMAP. I didn't even know what that was until I searched for remedies for my garlic issue. I'm not a fan of pasta, never have been. I've been a bit limited on the FODMAP diet, on nights I'm just too tired to get experimental. Well, just like when the kids were little, I can make a big pot of sauce and modify it through the week I am extremely impressed w the science and technology, that has made gluten free pastas taste and feel like traditional pasta. Something new! I am going to be starting the Fodmap eating plan in order to help me find out what foods are causing certain gut issues with me. I have had issues for a while but since returning to a fully vegan diet last August they have increased. I have been really upset thinking that I would have to change my diet but have been so encouraged by other vegans here on IG following the low fodmap plan with success. So today I went for my very first colonic treatment. I've wanted to try it for a while, but the thought of the process made me feel self conscious & embarrassed. But the past few weeks my stomach has been super bloated. This week I experienced serious constipation & became so frustrated, I just booked it. I'm so glad I did because I feel the benefit already. It was somewhat uncomfortable and at times created a piercing feeling in my stomach. But already feel fresh and de-bloated! 🤗
I'm now going to start looking into potential IBS diagnosis as it runs in my family already. FODMAP friendly lunch cooked by my husband! Egg with caper tilapia on leftover creole rice and lemon ginger tea. I'm incredibly grateful he's been so supportive during my FODMAP journey. He makes me breakfast every morning and is great about checking in about ingredients. It makes a huge difference when those close to you are your biggest cheerleaders. •
After being ill all week, I was more than glad to be feeling back to my usual self yesterday! Celebrating our anniversary with a trip to Cosy Club! - 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 banana
- 1/4 cup almond milk
- 1 egg + 1 egg white
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Vanilla extract
- Dash of cinnamon
Blend all of the ingredients together in a blender. Pour the batter into little pancakes onto your pan and cook until golden brown. Serve with nut butter, berries, or any toppings you like! 💕
