Woke up early to do some boring old household stuff and threw on a pair of old Brazilian workout pants...and then caught myself in the mirror and thought! HOLY MERDE my pooch is going and my face is changing again💪💪💪

After decades of fighting with emotional eating and weight gain, to finally feel like I have this under some form of control  AND to see the results of me consistently taking care of myself finally being evident too is mind blowing...there's nothing in the world quite like filling your own cup before helping others...that may sound selfish but think of the advice giving on an airplane is there's issues with cabin pressure - you're told to apply you're own oxygen before your child's!  Not for selfish reasons but because you cannot help anyone if you can't function and ultimately that means everyone suffers...so here I am applying my own oxygen mask and loving every minute of it.

Thursday morning day 4 and it was stretching. Friday’s workout was shoulder and legs.  I complete shoulders and was only able to do the warm up for legs because i was on a time crunch.  I will complete legs tomorrow along with my other workout. If it’s not too much 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Here I am all getting my fit on...... and smiling because seriously I love doing it. 
But let me tell you this wasn’t always the case. 
I would go to the gym lift weight, take spin class, go to yoga studios and do things fitness related but I never really got results. 
But I’ll tell you what... it wasn’t until -I had a personal trainer on my TV, -building my nutrition plans and -really telling me what to do.... -with a group of people that all had same goals so negativity wasn’t bringing my shit down 
That my friends is when I saw results and fell in love with fitness. 
I saw results of 24lb weight loss in 5ish months with 30 minute home workouts and following portioned clean eating (and yes I still enjoyed pizza, tacos and beer )..... There are 8 million ways out there to lose weight or get fit... ( ok ok 8 million may be dramatic 😆) But for a full time working chick who loves to have a busy social life and do as much possible with her boo thang..... I aint got time to try to be figuring things out, researching on google (how to lose 10lbs ina month) to then not be effective.

Setting a goal isn’t enough to achieve it‼️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
People set goals all the time but never reach their goals or perhaps never even start working towards them- ever been here before? I know I have 🤦🏼‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are 7 I put together on setting goals and achieving them! 👌🏻
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Set SMART goals - this means setting a goal that is specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Put it in your schedule - when you see something in your schedule and you’ve blocked off time for it, you’re more likely to hold yourself to it than just winging it or getting to it when you “have” time. We “make” time for things that are a priority so make your goals a priority! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Envision accomplishing the goal - imagine the feelings you will have when you achieve your goal, how proud of yourself you will be, what changes will it make in your life - these things will keep you motivated to reach it 🙌🏻
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Get disciplined - there will be days along the way where you aren’t motivated but you need to be disciplined enough to do what you need to do in order to achieve your goal ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Don’t beat yourself up - if you mess up or make a mistake, IT IS OKAY! Talking down to yourself isn’t going to get you anywhere. Learn from the mistake and move on. Get your head back in the game and focus on the goal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6. Know WHY you want to achieve this goal - knowing #why you’re doing something connects emotion to it. When you don’t know why you do something, stress and anxiety creeps up, which makes your goals unsustainable. So dig deep and know WHY you want to do this and remind yourself of it. Write it on your whiteboard, mirror, phone wallpaper so you can constantly remind yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
7. Stop putting it off and start working towards it NOW - he longer you put something off, the less likely you are to ever actually do it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Envision accomplishing the goal - imagine the feelings you will have when you achieve your goal, how proud of yourself you will be, what changes will it make in your life - these things will keep you motivated to reach it 🙌🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. Get disciplined - there will be days along the way where you aren’t motivated but you need to be disciplined enough to do what you need to do in order to achieve your goal ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 5. Don’t beat yourself up - if you mess up or make a mistake, IT IS OKAY! Talking down to yourself isn’t going to get you anywhere. Learn from the mistake and move on. Get your head back in the game and focus on the goal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 6. Know WHY you want to achieve this goal - knowing #why  you’re doing something connects emotion to it. When you don’t know why you do something, stress and anxiety creeps up, which makes your goals unsustainable. So dig deep and know WHY you want to do this and remind yourself of it. Write it on your whiteboard, mirror, phone wallpaper so you can constantly remind yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 7. One of my favorite body parts to train is my shoulders. In fact, I devote an entire day to it. I started concentrating heavily on this muscle group when I injured my rotator cuff a few years ago playing tennis. I had horrible mobility in my left arm (I couldn’t even lift my arm over my head!) and a during a routine check-up with my doctor, he advised it would take MONTHS to rehabilitate my injury. In the meantime, I was banned from a lot of my go-to shoulder exercises like Military Presses or Overhead Presses...literally any exercise that involved me lifting my arm over my head.

After months of strengthening and conditioning my shoulders (high reps, low weights), mobility finally returned. In the meantime, I started to get a lot of compliments on my shoulders (who knew?!) and a lot of questions on my workout routine.

One of the ways I’ve shaped my shoulders is to incorporate different angles, bars and grips into my workout to make sure I’m engaging all of the muscles fibers. Using a reverse grip on a traditional exercise like a Seated Barbell Press shifts the emphasis to the front of the delts and upper fibers of the chest muscles (as opposed to the middle delt which is fired up when using a standard overhand grip.) ***
Try making this small to spark your muscle fire and lead to new growth.

To do: Sit up straight on a bench, with your feet together flat on the floor. Grab an EZ bar or barbell, hands shoulder-width apart, palms in a supinated position (palms up.) Locking your elbows near your sides, hold the bar in front of you at chest level. This will be your starting positon. Press the bar upward, driving the movement from the front delts (shoulders) rather than your biceps. Lower back down. This is one rep.

Perform 3 sets of 10-12 reps total.

Your workouts, diets and goals need to be sustainable as this is a lifestyle. It’s a marathon, not a sprint! 😁

1. Start small - you aren’t going to become a fitness model over night so set small attainable and sustainable goals in which you can build upon

2. Get some friendly competition going - find a friend to start with you and hold each other accountable. Orrrr you can try one of my personal favorites by trying to do one more rep than the random person next to you, last longer on the treadmill, be on a longer gym streak than a friend, etc - I think you see where I’m going with this 😉

3. Find an accountability partner - a friend, coach, relative, whomever...someone who won’t let you off the hook and cave to your excuses 👍🏻

4. Stop making exercise about how you look - while setting a goal to look a certain way can be motivating, is it sustainable? What do you do once you get there? Make it about nailing a push-up that’s not on your knees or nailing a pull up without assistance bands...whatever it is you’ll feel great when you accomplish it! 💪🏻

Today has been mad busy, lots going on and not much time to do things...and I promised myself today that I would make sure my diet was 100% today as it has been slipping. As I've said before I'm an emotional eater and today I was ready to do it again... in fact I was on my way home when I actually stopped off at a store and stocked up on sweets, crisps and coke....in my head I thought, it's cool ill get rid of it in a couple of days...but then the guilt set in. As I headed back and was thinking...I realised I AM ADDICTED TO SUGAR 😨 I had cravings that were driving me crazy today including facing these GIN AND TONIC SWEETS ffs😂😂😂. BUT I packed away the crap and stayed away from the sweets...I decided today is DAY 1... I'm going on a sugar detox...no sugar no sweeteners nothing artifical...who fancies joining me...reckon I'll do it as a challenge for my girls too..

Just loving the way my body is responding right now...not 100% perfect by any stretch but my curves are definitely coming together and whilst my weight is currently staying the same my lifts are being absolutely HAMMERED! And my lumpy bits are smoothing out 💜

It's so true that the scale should not be the focus but I don't see any harm in using them as an indicator of where you are, which I do daily! BUT I do so fully aware of hormonal changes, water and salt issues etc so I read the number in the morning and then go about my day...simple and happy life 😍 and without beating myself up I work hard in the gym, take care and an conscious of what I put in my body. ...but MOST OF ALL...I ABSOLUTELY L💜VE this!!! Sending you all massive PBs 😂😂😂

It's so hard to show how different things are especially if you're not ready to get naked or in a bikini on socials!...so here's my attempt...so far I have lost 16.5cm that's 6.5inches off my chest and back alone
..and I am about half way to my goal! The transformation my body is going through is phenomenal and it's not just my body that is changing! This is having one of the biggest impacts ever on my confidence, self belief and my mental health. This isn't about photos on instagram for me, this is about finally getting the physical and mental strength in my life to truly achieve the things I have always doubted I could.  The things I have gone outside for which I am finding within me...needless to say, this is one of the most exciting periods of my life where I am finally taking care of me💪💪💪💜
