Everyone meet Wyatt. Wyatt is one of my favorite clients. You wouldn’t know if you looked at him but Wyatt lives with autism. I’ve met a lot of families along the way who have kids with autism. I have a special place in my heart for kids like Wyatt. He wears his green headphones all the time and barely takes them off. Recently he has been coming into the gym and removing them as he works out and for Wyatt, that’s a pretty big deal. After working out with Wyatt, I had the idea that some of his classmates and friends might benefit from not only the physical activity but also a different environment. I would love to develop a class for kids who live with autism. Although I don’t have an official certification, it’s something that I’m passionate about and would like to move forward with. I want all incredible kids like Wyatt to feel happy and comfortable while doing something that benefits their health. I’d also like to invite the parents to be there and workout with the group as well. If anyone would be interested or know anyone interested have them contact me @fieldfitgym . In college, I was sure running endlessly was the way to get the physique I wanted. Every day after class for almost a year, I'd park myself on the treadmill & run 5 miles. Same pace, same 5 miles, 5 days a week.
I dreaded it but thought "it would get me abs." During one of these runs, a girl next to me started doing insane sprints, on and off. I remember that oh so subtle side glance trying to see her pace & thinking she was intense. I was intimidated by her, by the #sprints & never considered her training to be more effective than my steady state pace.
I never tried sprints until a few years ago because it was intimidating & I didn't want to embarrass myself. I kept myself from reaching my own physique goals out of fear of trying something new & scary.
HIIT is the only type of #cardio I do now & I swear it's physique changing. Like I said in my story, if you catch me on the treadmill, I've probably lost my mind and you should call help.

First ✌🏽 pics are from today - pre workout & before spin - I share this because I’ve finally come to the realization that i will never be stick skinny & I’m OK with that! 😊 It is so easy to get wrapped up with negative thoughts that consume our mind daily, we compare ourselves constantly to others in all areas (job, monetary status, weight, physique etc) that we try to make everyone else happy instead of starting with ourselves first. We can’t truly be happy if we aren’t happy within. We have to remember that we all will have a different story & that is what will make each of us who we are. Some people put on a good front to make it seem like they have everything so easy, but you will never know what people are going through. I say this again because i am finally content with who i am as a person physically - mentally - & emotionally! Of course there are going to be days where I will be on the struggle bus, because nobody is perfect. I am starting to see major changes - muscle gains - ab lines - smaller pant sizes - but it didn’t happen over night. This has been a hard 2 years of ups and downs!! NEVER. GIVE. UP. Always remember we each are beautiful, if someone makes you feel otherwise - get them out of your life ASAP & remember you should only have people on your team who push you harder each day!! Hey guys! Just wanted to give some quick advice(ft. my face with a kick ass pimple, might I add). Soooooo, want to know what really grinds my gears? When people try to tell you what works for you. Uhm, I call bullshit dude.
"You HAVE to eat this way to lose weight."
"You HAVE to lift this way to gain muscle."
"You HAVE to follow this program to get results."
Yeah, no. No no no no no. How can someone tell YOU how YOU to have to train, eat, program, etc. if they're not you? That's right, they can't! That's the beauty of fitness. Everyone is different. Joe Bologna might lift everything 5x5 and get great results, while Susan Sarandon might be killing it with at home workouts with resistance bands.
My point is, find what works for you. Experiment. Just stop listening to the first person that says you've "gotta do it this way."

Facing this week like Sampson. I earned this trophy when I went through a difficult summer and fall leading to my pro card in 2015. And this week has been heavy-hitting. From recovering and coming off a nasty cold that had me coughing, sneezing, a sore throat, and a running nose. To having to move out all my belongings into a storage shed and prepare my home for it’s sale closing this week. I’ve essentially been forced into a week off of the gym. But I can’t wait to get through this week and onto an exciting May. From attending an upcoming wedding, to a new career starting up, and the big dirty thirty, it’s going to be an exciting month and end of spring following a rather challenging winter. And I can’t wait to face what’s to come head on! 😉⚔️🛡
Transformation Tuesday! Huge shout out to our client Melissa for crushing it these last 8 weeks! Lost over 10lbs of fat tissue, gained 2lbs of muscle and cut over 4% body fat! All of this while nursing a sore/injured back and not being able to give her usual 100% intensity in workouts. Speaks volumes for how important a consistent and clean nutrition plan and accountability can be for success!
