We tried these movements for fun after doing our morning cardio. We're trying to slowly incorporate more functional movements that will improve explosiveness, balance, flexibly, and speed. .
1️⃣. Angled barbell press. this movement is perfect for working on explosiveness from the shoulders while integrating the hips and torso muscles. It's super friendly on your shoulders and easy to learn! .
2️⃣. Land mine Kneel to squat: this second movement is for strength, mobility and flexibility in your hips. Practicing this movement consistently will teach you to remain upright in a barbell squat! .
3️⃣. Land mine press with twist: common amongst boxers when training for power in a punch. .
4️⃣. Lumber jack box squat to press: works all of your pushing muscles. It will engage your legs as you explode upright from the box. This pressing motion will leave your delts, chest and triceps burning.
5️⃣. Land mine twists: This movement targets your entire core with s little bit more emphasis on your obliques. This is tough on your shoulders triceps and forearms as well. .

As a personal trainer, I knew the importance of taking care of my body and exercising. Working out was never a problem for me, but I just never got a handle on my nutrition.

It was the end of 2011 and we had just finished failing so hard at Gold's Gym Fit To Be Gold Challenge 😂. We had no idea at the time what Keto was all about, but that's what they had used do while training us. I even broke the stair stepper machine the first time I got on it 🤷♂️. So my trainer just had me go up and down stairs the entire hour. @eholling87 and I lasted about 3 weeks lol. I ⬇️ 25 lbs really quick, but put it all back on ⬆️⬆️⬆️and then some. I was also struggling to find a decent job while failing at school because I wasn't focusing on anything but unhealthy eating habits 🥐🍞🍔🍟🍕🌮. HOLY MOLY! I kind of want to scream “I’mmmmmmm BACK!”. For the first time in a couple of weeks - I freaking crushed a workout. My back felt good, my energy was there and my mindset was spot on. A kickass motivational pick me up from @gillilandbyron was exactly what my mind, heart and soul needed!

•I know the angles are a little different but progress = progress, no matter what angle you’re looking from. —
•I was telling Chase this morning that when I used to only do cardio (no lifting/ weights of any kind), I saw these immediate results. Fat melted away. Now that I’m lifting weights and building muscle it’s completely different. —
•As I was going through all the pictures I’ve taken since our day 1 in early February to now, I got a little frustrated. Why? Well, number 1- I’m a girl and want to see immediate changes (and show immediate changes). Number 2- I can’t truly show in a side by side all of our changes. —
•The scale has gone down just a few pounds and that’s ok. I used to be obsessed with checking that thing and if I could tell anyone on this type of journey 1 tip- it’d be NOT to check the scale (at least not frequently). —
•I did not measure myself (in retrospect I wish I had, but it’s not vital, life goes on). But I’ve lost inches. Clothes fit differently. Even clothes I just bought (ex. the cute blue size small dress I bought at @target in March was big on me for my engagement party April 14th. Especially in the waist). —
•In February when I started lifting, not only did I feel awkward and my body didn’t want to “lift” right, but I could barely complete sets with 5lbs of weights. Now I am more comfortable. I watch myself and my form and I listen to my body. I also am on 10-15 lbs of weights depending on the work out. (For my arms-don’t know if I’ve been keeping up with the weight I squat or other weight lifting with my legs). —
