My baby is still in basketball season and they’re working more and more on conditioning! He gave me so much inspiration yesterday to RUN! Whenever I do cardio I always walk, jump rope, or do the stair master until yesterday! What I love about my Son is he NEVER gives up! He ALWAYS push through no matter how difficult a task may be! He ran yesterday as much as he could in a mile and did hills! Day 3! Cardio Core! My new shirt tells you how I feel about all the jumping around and trying to look coordinated! I love getting up and getting it done! The exercise in the video ends with standing mountain climbers. The first round, I couldn’t do these without stopping. I couldn’t even get coordinated to even start them! I finally figured that out with some help from Gary! Today, I was able to do them but they definitely were not easy!
You cannot change the circumstances, you cannot change the seasons. Keep your head down, run THROUGH month end with a hunger for success and remember: you can handle whatever is thrown at you. #FinishStrong
💥HOW'S YOUR SINGLE LEG GAME?💥
An issue I tend to run into a lot as a coach (and even when I was competing in powerlifting) is that most people either can't or neglect single leg (unilateral) exercises. DO NOT do that! Haha…
Here are the benefits:
1️⃣You can work on and clean up imbalances that are usually covered up by 2 leg (bilateral) exercises
2️⃣You strengthen up each leg individually, which will make your core lifts (ie. squats & deadlifts) stronger
3️⃣Core activation is key for stabilization, so you're getting even more abdominal work
4️⃣Can be a safer alternative for those with lower back injuries since they'll have to cut the load down in order to complete the exercise (I know this from experience)
Wanna see if you're single leg game is on point? Try this!
Grab a pair of DB's equally 50% of your bodyweight in each hand and perform Bulgarian Split Squats for 5+ reps each leg. Can't do it? Well then you mos def should start thinking about implementing single leg exercises into your leg day routine! @drjohnrusin
