Another custom #barnwood & #barndoor project resulting in happy customer! .
Here's the backstory: The customer had a large bedroom with no closet space. Her decor is #vintage#farmhouse with a twist of #shabbychic and she wanted a mix of #patina for the barnwood. Each piece of barnwood was handpicked and meticulously assembled to create this one-of-a-kind masterpiece. We love how all the colors come together!
The closet is 7' x 12', plenty of room for storage and her shoes (so she says!). Regardless what she stores, it's a gorgeous closet and we're thrilled to have another happy customer! #farm2furniture

Back in 2007 when we were planning our build, the online resources just weren’t as plentiful as they are today. These SL House Plan magazines became my best friends. I would study them forwards and backwards, picturing our future family living in the mapped out plans below the front elevation picture. I can still identify a Southern Living home to this day- there’s a ‘Cottage of the Year’ that I drive by over in Ponte Vedra and an ‘Elberton Way’ we always pass on our way back home to Georgia. And that’s ‘Tucker Bayou’ on the cover- I didn’t even have to peek. 🙃 We ended up choosing ‘Mama Crovatt’s House’ by RN Black Architects- see second picture. Scott was just starting a new company and I was still teaching and money was tight to say the least. In an effort to trim costs, we made some major revisions after we purchased the plan. The most prominent was to cut the master suite and add a bedroom over the two story living room, with the intentions of adding it back one day when we needed the space. Well, that day is here. We now have two boys who just won’t stop growing, as do all of their stuff. 😒 So we are adding that master suite now, almost nine years after we moved in, as well as finishing a bonus room over the garage we added onto the plan to begin with. The rooms are starting to take shape and as soon as the drywall mess is under control I’ll post some pictures. So as you can see, Southern Living house plans will always hold a special place in my heart. I’d love to hear if any of you built SL house plans! Hudson is not pleased with this rain, or the fact that we are going on vacation without him soon (hence the face) 😥 But, we’re excited for some sun in Florida! Are you taking a spring vacation?? ☀️🌴 #tuesday#vacation#happy
Life gets busy in the spring. Who am I kidding... life gets busy all the time! JT has been able to still work some on the house nearly everyday in between all of our command performances... they call me “coach katie” at softball, “witchy woman” at my group exercise classes and “Mom” at home. We wear many hats and just trying to do our best. More beadboard progress in the dining room. Slowly but surely we are getting there. 🏚🛠💰🔧💰🔨💰😩😢💰🏡 #farmhouse#texas#texasfarmhouse#beadboard#diy
My copper gutters are finished! I love the bling now and will also love watching the brown-green patina emerge over time. I’ve always dreamed of owning copper gutters.😬 Also, I don’t like that my street gas meter enters the house right by the front door, so I painted it the same color as the siding (@benjaminmoore Kendall Charcoal) and planted shrubs in front. The black paint I used on the brick stoop and front door is also Ben Moore Onyx Black. The @andersen_windows came pre-painted black; the siding is @boraltruexterior; and sconces are Restoration Hardware. 🏠
Can I get your help... I’ve felt my style & motivation shift so many times in the past few months that I would love some feedback from you.
If you could describe my style or how you feel when you view my artwork... What would you say? Could you take a quick second and use just a couple words to let me know in the comments below. Thank you! Image | @melissaschollaert

The day I asked. .
About 8 months ago I sunk deep.
I was in the throes of branding, website, Wordpress hell.
Swimming in SSL certificates, servers pointing toward god knows what and a misplaced domain.
Limiting beliefs came in-
In the form of pride.
Do I really need (italics) a website?
I’ve been getting referrals, people are happy ❤️ But really, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to
Be present in such a way. .
So finally, at wits end
I asked. “Spirit guides, animals and all beings guiding me.
If this is what I’m supposed to be doing
Please send me a sign-
Something so clearly from you
Something that is undeniable” “Unexpected money works too”
😁 they know. .
About an hour later I heard something strange out back
Something that I haven’t heard in over a year so it was unfamiliar.
It was our chickens
Laying eggs .
Not weird, except ALL of the chickens we have,
we inherited from a friend
All of them happy, healthy, and old enough to lay eggs
However in over a year since we had them
Not one egg.
They each laid one egg that day
And almost everyday since
I no longer have to buy eggs at the store
This lesson taught me how pride never gets anything accomplished
Even though I feel like I’m in control
There are many things much bigger than me
It’s ok to relinquish control
It’s ok to lean on others
It’s ok to be vulnerable
Give yourself that
And every time I cook these beautiful eggs,
I’m reminded of all of those things. .
We have one left of our Fresh Cut Flowers Metal Sign. .
Embossed letters, aged paint finish.
Dimensions: 28.5" x .75" x 19.75"

What is this?!?!?- This was in a recent home we researched in West Chester PA, were calling the “Charles Roberts” house. Our research lead us to define it as an attic cistern - “Cisterns are for catching rainwater collected by the roof gutters or fed by natural springs, filled with a pump system and gravity is used to distribute through house.” Most have been removed, but our homeowners wanted to keep it! We seriously never know what we’re gonna find 😎
