I love painters. My grandmother was a painter. My husband is a painter, my studio is in a building full of painters and I hang out with a lot of painters. So I was thrilled when @pattyvoje, an artist I haven’t met before, asked me to come to her studio for a quick headshot before her current work was set to be shipped for upcoming exhibitions. It was really fun to see all these gorgeous paintings in her light filled studio!

I’ve been at work since 4ish this morning, it’s currently 10.20am and I’m only just making my breakfast. I’ve lasted 6 hours and 20minutes running on roughly 5.5hours sleep, last nights dinner and a cup of coffee that took me an hour and a half to drink while I milked the cows. I didn’t get all my jobs done this morning, but I got the important ones done. The cows have been milked, they’ve been fed, they’ve been put in a new paddock for today, everyone that needed medication got their shots, Springers have been fed, calves have been fed; milk, grain, chaff and hay. The clean ups after milking and down at the calf shed have all been done. Amongst all those normal daily jobs, dry cows got sorted and this big one got done too. She’d been trying to calve and failing on her own and no wonder, he was twisted. It took two of us and a puller to get him out despite him only being little. So now I’m home, I’m going to sit down for a little while and drink my tea and eat my breakfast, I might get something done in the 2 hours before I go back for the afternoon, then again I might have a nap. Then I’ll finish the jobs I didn’t get to this morning, then I’ll feed the calves, clean up again, get this little fella a jacket and move him to a dry pen, get the cows in, milk them, milk her, put her colostrum in a bottle, wash out again, put the cows away in a new paddock for the night, feed him, double check the rest of the calves before I go to make sure they’re alright and not cold, go home, walk Max, have a shower, have dinner, go to bed and then do it all over again tomorrow.. and I literally cannot think of anything else I’d rather be doing.

The lambs enjoy lying around in the warm sun while we work hard to reopen ASAP. We have a few more things to do but now have an official opening date which is SUNDAY April 29,2018 at 8 AM. We can’t see to open to the doors again to all of you!
