Yeesh. Have you ever been plagued by negative comparisons disease? I know I have before, and lemme tell ya- It’s diabolical☠️.

How do you celebrate your achievements without weighing yourself against another? 👩🏼🎉📖It’s sooo easy to get caught up feeling like a lost cause when another peer seems to be skyrocketing to success. 😓🚀🌟

But here’s the thing. It has taken years for them too. Success DOES NOT actually happen overnight. They’ve had trials just like us to overcome. They’re thinking exactly what you’re thinking at any given time too! 🥀

So instead of focusing on someone else’s success and possibly growing resentful, celebrate their success and then pick your head up high and keep going in your own direction🌞.

What I have found helps me is taking time to write down my accomplishments on a list (no matter how small). And I also write down any positive words someone shares with me- a compliment, a fan sharing their love, or even just a “hey how’s that book of yours coming along?” (Because that means that person IS thinking about my book!😱📖🙋🏻♂️) And then on my low days, I revisit that list and remind myself that Im doing just fine at my own pace😎👌🏼. •

Someone once said the only person you should measure yourself against is the person you were yesterday. And that’s totally true! 👯♀️
