Blackberry Cheesecake Fat Bombs. I love recipes that take seconds to put together! These made a yummy dessert after dinner last night. They’re almost all gone already. 😳
Mix together, then freeze in bite sized portions:
1/2 cup cream cheese
1/2 cup coconut oil
6oz fresh blackberries
Vanilla stevia to taste

My 7 days of Extended Fasting are coming to an end with this delicious bone broth.
.
Prolonged water fasting is an exercise of humility, inner connection, gratitude and rejoice for this amazing machine which is your body, that allows us to experience the gift of life.
.
The benefits of fasting:
* Cellular cleanse of waste residues through autophagy (demonstrated by Yoshinori Ohsumi - Nobel prize in 2016)
* Neurogenesis acceleration * Immune system regeneration
* Insulin sensitivity adjusting
* DNA repair
* Stem cells regeneration
* Boosts brain health and functionality
* Reduces inflammation
* Promotes human growth hormone
* Metabolism acceleration & increased energy
* Increased mental clarity and focus
* Direct use of body’s fat deposits
* Restart your relationship with food - everything will taste so much better, even plain legumes. It’s a great time to appreciate and focus on real food.
.
If you are concerned about muscle loss, from my experience, I didn’t loose any muscle mass. Last year I took my chance with a 6-days water fasting and soon after getting back to gym my strength not only that wasn’t diminished, but it even improved +10%, pushing at leg press from 200kg to 220kg. Muscles have memory and even though they reduce volume due to glycogen depletion, after refeeding everything comes back, maybe even better as cellular cleaning occurs.
.
There are trainers like Dr. Alan Goldhamer, Dr. Jason Fung and Loren Lockman that have had thousands of patients with great results, even reversed diabetes and cured cancer in some patients with fasting.
.
So often we take our body for granted and we forget to give back, to support and cherish it’s efforts to keep us healthy and thriving. .
The answer to a better health is much closer than the media is selling. If you want to regenerate your body start searching for “prolonged fasting”, there is so much reference out there.
And always ask your physician before any major changes.
.
I wish you all the best !

Your health starts in the gut...and that was already known quite early on by health practitioners.
I take care of my gut health in many ways every day but it was a great learning curve as up to my late twenties I concentrated on the symptoms rather than treating the underlying issue.
Nowadays I focus on my daily self care practise, I eat seasonal home cooked meals as the biggest percentage of my intake, chew slowly without distraction, stick with what I have on my plate, if I am still hungry I wait a little, have suitable probiotic choices that work for me, I fast regularly intermittent and extended and I watch generally what I eat, when.
I also make sure that there are good relationships in my personal and professional life and my gut is a great mentor in this area.
I listen and trust more what my gut is telling me. ✨
What are you doing to maintain your gut health and what works best for you?

UPDATE: Meatball. The key missing word that ties all of this together. 🤣My less than photogenic version of the Teriyaki Noodle Bowl by @castawaykitchen sans noodles plus a bit of asparagus. Because time. Delish! Will add zoodles later.
Started the day off with a coffee at my desk, then fasted through to dinner this evening which was salmon, scallops, asparagus, greens, and avo in a roasted garlic and cream sauce. I had plenty of macros left so made myself choco-avo mousse with a few berries.
Thought I'd do OK with the protein having scallops as well as salmon, but missed target again.
I did a little experiment after listening to a Jimmy Moore podcast this evening about breath ketones. I measured them before eating and the meter registered 0.04. I did it again half way through eating dessert and got a reading of 0.09. According to the podcast you'd expect to see this as you burn off the food (if I understand correctly). A while ago there was a Facebook game where you had to post 7 black & white photos over 7 days with no people in shot. I found it an incredibly grounding & mindful game. I thought I'd do something like that again. As it's #anzac day I thought it fitting to post a picture of the war memorial in the centre of the town where I was working today.
Just a quick update! Still going with my fast, over halfway through now! Honestly not confident I’ll make it until Thursday evening, as planned. Today I battled some headache and very mild general shakiness. Instead of calling it quits on the fast, I drank 2 small cups of dill pickle juice with some stevia, and my headache dissipated and the shakes are gone. Loading up on some green tea as well I think is helping. So, I’m gonna keep going while continuing to be very mindful of what my body is telling me. Again, I won’t hesitate to break early should I see true signs that I need to eat. As of now, this is my longest fast to date. 2.5 days was the longest fast prior to this one (approx 60 hours). .
.
.
Also, keto newbies, please do not feel overwhelmed or allow yourself to become anxious as you see me through my extended fasting. While fasting often goes hand in hand with keto, it’s not a requirement so don’t feel compelled that you need to do as I do. My fast is a personal choice. Any fasting done on keto should be a natural progression as your hunger levels decrease. I’ve made a personal choice to try extended fasting from time to time. Extended fasting is not my norm. Please ensure that whatever plan you follow is right for you. Only you will know what that entails. I choose to share my journey here but by no means do I expect anyone to do exactly as I do. .

I think I may make it!!! I’m going for a 120 hour fast. It should end Friday at dinner. I feel amazing and I dumped a bunch of water since I started and was down 5 pounds this morning. I’m excited to see if this puts me under 180 finally. #ilovedrfung#extendedfasting#keto#autophagy
Finish my 36 hour fast at about 43 hours. Felt great earlier today so went ahead and skipped lunch. Looking forward to dinner! #fasting#fatforfuel#extendedfasting
I’m just trying to crush the week💪🏽 even with my cold I’m looking to reach a goal. When you know something works and you finally have the mindset to do it, it all be comes a matter of sitting back and watching the changes occur. I have some pants and tops I’m looking forward to fitting and come June 13 I know I’ll be in them and smiling #weightloss#weightlossjourney#goals#intermittentfasting#extendedfasting#snakefast#workout#motivated
So last week I tried out Alternate day fasting & netted a lost of 5 pounds, but I decided to experiment with a 5 day water fast this week! I’ve been having coffee on my fasting days, so NOW that I’m doing a TRUE water fast, I will be having NOTHING but distilled WATER all this week! Day 1 TERRIBLE awful headaches from caffeine withdraw.. day 2, so far I feel amazing!!! 🎉🎉🤞🏻 No hungry pains yet on either day!
Translating Mechanism-Based Strategies to Break the Obesity−Cancer Link: A Narrative Review
http://jandonline.org/article/S2212-2672(17)31348-5/abstract "...this review focuses on emerging mechanisms behind the obesity−cancer link, as well as relevant dietary interventions, including calorie restriction, intermittent fasting, low-fat diet, and ketogenic diet, that are being implemented in preclinical and clinical trials, with the ultimate goal of reducing incidence and progression of obesity-related cancers." #cancer#lifestylemedicine#foodheals#foodismedicine#foodislife#eatwell#eatclean#fasting#intermittentfasting#alternatedayfasting#extendedfasting#keto#ketodiet#ketogenic
As promised, here’s a quick feedback from my #ExtendedFasting experiment, some results in figures… and then a quick point about #Coffee .
.
The actual duration was from Monday, at 9PM to Sunday at 2PM. First day was OK. Second and third day were much tougher, and then, everything went fine or even better than fine. I was supposed to break the fast Sunday morning but I was not hungry, so I postpone until 2PM and our #Family lunch.
.
What I’ve learnt…
.
Being hungry is, most of the time, that I want to eat more than I need to eat. It’s a mental thing. I simply need to carry on… and it goes away. Being busy helps a lot if you are afraid not to have the mental strength (but I’m sure you have it 💪🏻). I over-estimated the power of hunger. I stopped being hungry at all the second day.
.
I don’t drink enough water. I knew it, but it’s obvious when you fast.
.
Coffee can’t be good for my body. The toughest part of this fast was the headache I had because of the lack of #caffein . Cutting on coffee (not mandatory when you fast but recommended) was more painful than expected.
.
What is my outcome…
.
It was an amazing experience, and the very first thing you eat after fasting is incredibly flavorful.
.
My stomach has shrunk so I feel full much faster and eat less.
.
You eat slower and appreciate it much more than before.
.
I’ve lost 7 pounds (3.2 kg) in 5 days. I should get back 40% of it and keep the 60% in profit. It was mostly water in the beginning, but then, mainly « white » fat (the one you want to get rid of)
.
My - very high - blood pressure is 26mmHg down on the SYS and 11mmHg down on the DIA. These are pretty amazing results in only 5 days and absolutely #NoMedication .
.
My skin is softer. OK, I doesn’t really matter from a medical point of view but I may get more kisses from @Stephaniecarles and the kids, and that’s priceless.
.
I will drink coffee only when I have an opportunity to get a great one, but not on daily basis anymore.
.
If you have any question or views, PM and comments are yours.
.
PS: How do you like that incredibly sci-fi coffee machine? I’ve found it at @licensed_to_distill. Special thanks @dr.danielyinh for his great support and guidance 🙏🏻❤️
What causes heart disease?.🤔🤨🧐.
.
Most people think high cholesterol correlates to high rates of heart disease. I’ve read extensively on the subject. THE BIG FAT SURPRISE is a great book by investigative journalist, Nina Teicholz, shines the light on HOW we got to where we are today with high rates of many illnesses, which can totally be prevented and sometimes also reversed, such as heart disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, cancer, etc. The 7 Country Study is the first major multi-country epidemiological study to investigate diet and lifestyle along with other risk factors for cardiovascular disease, across contrasting countries and cultures and over an extended period of time. It was conducted by Ancel Keys and first published in 1978. The study was flawed in many aspects, including that out of 22 countries he started with, Mr. Keys only included the countries that supported his Heart Health Hypothesis. This study incorrectly Links Dietary Fat to Heart Disease. If all 22 countries had been included, there would have been no correlation found whatsoever; it should have been called the 22 Countries Study. Saturated fat is not the enemy and high cholesterol is actually good for you. We need cholesterol in our bodies.📔📚.
.
Please do your own research and come up with your own conclusions. The way doctors are treating patients regarding cholesterol is 40+ year old science. CHOLESTEROL CLARITY, THE GREAT CHOLESTEROL MYTH and THE GREAT CHOLESTEROL CON are great books to read regarding this particular topic.

Restaurant style breadsticks gone keto! It’s also tree nut and coconut-free. 👌🏼 This dough would also make great flat bread or pizza crust. I think the key is the pizza screen. I bought it on Amazon for $6 and it really helped crisp the dough. I’ll definitely use the screen from now on. #minigoldendoodlephotobomb
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons cream cheese
3/4 cup shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 egg
1/4 cup flax meal
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pink salt
How-to:
Melt cream cheese and mozzarella in microwave for 1 minute. Stir together. Add egg and dry ingredients and mix until thoroughly incorporated. Spread onto a parchment lined pizza screen. You’ll want your dough to be somewhere around 10” across. Bake for 12 minutes at 425 degrees. Remove from oven, sprinkle breadsticks with more Parmesan cheese and cut. Enjoy!
Soooo... I kept going. 🤷🏻♀️ I did however utilize all of my 200 calories last night in actual protein versus broth, kambucha or mct oil. Call it breaking the fast if you want, but for the sake of simplicity and actual intake I’m calling this day 22. I did over 20,000 steps yesterday and just felt it was necessary if I wanted to continue, and I will likely add a couple more in through the rest of the 30 days. Ultimately, I love the results I’m seeing, and I feel good. Everyone is different and I seem to thrive on a Keto and fasting regimen. Science says 40 days is the longest you should go, so I figure 30 should be just fine. As always if for any reason I start feeling like crap, I will stop. And again, for all those who say fasting burns muscle, just look at my upper body, I’m clearly reducing fat.

It’s been a while since I have tried an extended fast. I’ve been fluctuating all over the 190’s since Christmas, and I admit that that primarily has to do with sub-par self discipline. I’ve been doing really well with the discipline for the past couple weeks now, and thought this would be a good time to give another extended fast a try. I don’t know if I’ll make it, but I’m going to try to go until Thursday evening (my fam’s usual eat-out night). That will be a 117 hour fast... just typing that fills my head with doubt but hey, it’s a goal to try for. As always, I’ll be listening to my body and won’t hesitate to break sooner if I see the signs that I need to break it ahead of plan. When I fast, I do allow myself coffee with heavy cream in the mornings. So not a “true” fast by many’s standards but this is how I choose to do it. Other than the coffee it will be just water and my vitamins. And, since I follow so many awesome keto accounts that post delectably delicious looking keto food, I’m going to marry the fast with another type of fast... from Instagram. Yep, gonna try an insta-break! So I don’t get tempted into eating all the food lol! So, have an excellent next 5 days my friends! I’ll be back when I break my fast! Oh and for reference, starting this fast at 193.6 lbs. Let’s see what happens!
