Salvation From Spoilage
The project for new show started with one and simple idea, an apple!
But from uncreative perspective mind of today art and universities and most institutions associated with contemporary art, pushed me to up the numbers and make the frames bigger with out any clue of the subject matter
After three months of working and not getting to the place i want, i found the answer
In the rotten spot of an apple
After finishing the piece i found relief (size 5cm).
At the same time due to my personal problems and things happening around me, all there was went to be spoiled.
"My apples are my children" and they still are and the sentence refers to that i care about them and want them to best they can, like our country or like our life
At this time was the time
That i started to know Mark Rothko and
The reason behind his big frames
And the mystic world that he talks about it in abstract and poetic way.
i isolated the background for any unnecessary meaning to be created and all there was, was a rotten apple and i tried to get the meaning out of that
And make the whole thing to a subject
But the colors tend to show them selves differently to me , they were pure and unspoiled , like the spoilage was a beautiful make up to the apple and with out that an apple wasn't interesting Then i realized the unknown
The place that most of painters go.
Painting just a simple apple wasn't satisfying and interesting to see
And in the meanwhile my apples
Were rotten more that enough
And i start to work on them for weeks
and they went to be more spoiled
start to fix them and stop the spoilage
that was when it hit me
You can't stop the spoilage "We never have intact apple"
They all rot some day
And we can't stop that and maybe we shouldn't
But in humans maybe we rott from the outside
But we tend to stop are self and societies
From being spoiled
But like my apple it's long time that they are spoiled. .
Happy Earth Day! Guess what? Print Power is holding a weekend full exhibition at the Community Arts Workshop this weekend. All the artwork that was made during their workshops will be displayed and there will be live screen printing, snacks, drinks and music!
