Throwing it way back to 2009 in the @chinko.project area, when I tried my best to be like Steve Irwin. Alongside me is one of my dearest friends Erik Mararv , who changed my life when he gave me 5 years of work and adventure in the Central African bush. He is now park manager of Garamba National Park in DR Congo. A few weeks back @gq magazine published a story featuring Erik and the fight to protect Garambas elephants (Title: “The Bloody Toll of Congo’s Elephant Wars”) . Back then when this photo was taken, I never would have guessed Erik would be “famous” enough to appear in a publication like GQ 😂 ( I guess he just had to take an Ak47 bullet through the femur bone from an ivory poacher to accomplish that... ) Here’s to good memories 🍻. •

This #whole30 has been tough for me so far. I’m only on day 5 and not having sugar is a lot harder than I thought. It’s eye opening to see how pretty much everything we eat contains added sugar. I’m looking forward to my energy, sleep, and digestion improving, but for now..the struggle is real!
