For those of you who don't already know this, I'm not the only artist in my family. My daughter, Eva, is a naturally talented artist who's area of specialty is drawing and illustration. She recently applied for and was awarded a partial scholarship to attend a one week summer seminar at Savannah College of Art and Design. She plans to take two courses; Sequential Art: Cartoons Comics and Characters and Illustration: Imaginative Character Design. But even with her partial scholarship, we don't have the means to pay the remainder, plus travel to and from Savannah this summer. In an effort to give my budding artist a boost to her illustration skills, I am going to auction two of my encaustic paintings to raise money for her summer art school experience. One will be auctioned here, and the other will be auctioned on my Facebook page.
So, let’s get this auction going! The starting price will be $100, with bids at $25 increments. To bid, simply comment on this post, with your bid amount. The bidding will close at 10 pm Central Time, on Friday, May 25th. I will cover the cost of shipping. :) Payment can be made via credit or debit card, through Square. I’ll email you an invoice, and kindly ask that it be paid with 24 hours. I will ship via 2 or 3 day FedEx or UPS, whichever is the best option, next week.
The Chill, 2017, 16” x 16” x 1.5”, encaustic and oil on cradled board.
Let the bidding begin! And check out some of Eva’s work as well. :) [ The Facebook auction is here: https://www.facebook.com/deelevang ] -

"Watch an animal, a flower, a tree, and see how it rests in Being. It is itself. It has enormous dignity, innocence, and holiness. However, for you to see that, you need to go beyond the mental habit of naming and labeling. The moment you look beyond mental labels, you feel that ineffable dimension of nature that cannot be understood by thought or perceived through the senses. It is a harmony, a sacredness that permeates not only the whole of nature but is also within you." ~Eckhart Tolle
