Braved the lines at the @hopetountearooms for a slice of cake before flying out. I've walked past this place on numerous occasions and admired the cakes in the window and gawked at the line up outside but never actually been inside. I'm usually not a sweets person but this Yuzu Tart had my name written all over it. A charming little spot that has been going since 1891. As they say at Macca's it's just a little bit fancy 👒💄👠🍰
Tell me if there's a better way to quench the thirst on a sweat-inducing Friday afternoon than ice coconut water. The good ones are usually sweet enough already you don't even need sugar. Bliss!
OOTORO | lobster 3 ways: served with caviar, uni, and truffle! Our tastebuds were in for a treat... we eased our way in with caviar, indulged in a melt in your mouth uni and lobster combo, then ended with truffle oil seared into freshly cut lobster... always a good time with @chauchaus 😘 #sistertime ❤️ lucky to have you
Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits || 🐝 The weekend is coming up, and I think you need to celebrate with some homemade biscuits!! 🤗 Do not be intimidated; they’re easier than you think! Eat them warm with some honey, jam or good ol’ country gravy! 🤤 Makes approx. 12 biscuits.
Ingredients:
1 stick of grassfed salted butter, cut into small cubes (8 tablespoons)
2 1/2 cups unbleached flour, plus more for dusting
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon sugar (I used cane sugar)
1 cup + 1 tablespoon buttermilk
1-2 tablespoons melted butter to brush on top
.
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
Cut the butter into small cubes and place back into the fridge to keep cold.
In a food processor, pulse the dry ingredients together about 4-5 times. Add in the cold butter and pulse until it resembles small peas, approx. 6-7 times. Try not to over mix. Transfer to a bowl. Pour in the buttermilk and gently fold together the ingredients until it starts to combine and form large clumps. Dump the dough out onto a floured surface, mash together to form a ball, and roll it into a rough rectangle, about a 1/2 inch thick. Fold it in half and gently roll it out again. Fold the opposite direction and roll out again. Repeat one more time in each direction. (Add a little flour as needed if it starts to stick). Roll out into a rectangle and using a biscuit cutter or a floured glass, cut dough into circles. (Go straight down and don’t twist as it will cause it not to rise). Keep folding and cutting the scraps until all the dough is used.
Place on the cookie sheet and bake approx. 10-12 minutes until the tops start to brown. Remove, brush melted butter on top, and return to the oven for another 2 minutes or until browned. Serve hot.

Like a rift in the earth or crack in the soil, there's nothing quite like a split down, fluffed marbled cake. It's not hard to believe that I'm steaming with excitement and *sniffs* ooh BANANA.
Can anyone guess what this is?.... Ok I'll tell you...fried tofu (agedashi) topped with a sweet miso sauce. This was my first time here and everything was well-made and delicious! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Italy has me inspired. I’m already planning a backyard party with Aperol spritzers and Italian stuffed artichokes for when I get home. Just look at these beauties.

I love a night in. Especially when it involves a delicious bottle of wine. Definitely still have some chilly Spring evenings here in Portland, so when I want to warm up with a glass of vino, my go to is @fetzerwine!
.
This 50th anniversary cabernet sauvignon includes select reds including Petit Verdot, Merlot and Syrah. This wine was aged in a combination of stainless steel and French and American oak for 8 months. It has the most incredible mouthfeel and pairs perfectly with a hearty meal thanks to it’s rich palate & bold tannins.

we had the opportunity to meet up with my late aunt bonnie’s friends who’ve been like family to my mom since her sister’s passing. they took us to one of their favorite neighborhood restaurants in gangnam known for their 굴비구이/gulbigui (cured yellow covina). we also had bossam (boiled pork belly), kalbijjim (braised short ribs), kimchi buchimgae (kimchi pancake), japchae (stir-fried cellophane noodles), and the most phenomenal banchan like 머위대/meowidae (stir-fried butterbur stems) and 취나물/chwinamul (stir-fried aster scaber). it was feast mode in full effect and everything was so amazing!!! #feastmode#koreanfood#바다축제#seouleats#amelindaseats#amelindastravels

I’m one day late but really excited to share with you my Chicago foodie selection for @choosechicagofr. As you might know already, tacos are a serious thing here in Chicago. I tried many of them and totally fell in love with these ones from @takitokitchen. Don’t you like their vibrant naturally pink color? 👉🏻 Read full post in French below!

🔥 Brandon’s Table goes to Persia 🍷
-
Brandon’s Table went to Persia last night at the exquisite Palazzo Versace and for the first time, ended the evening with a bang at Q’s, Quincy Jones’ first bar feat. @wearethestrike. 🎷🎺🎸🥁Incredible conversations, lots of liquid nitro enveloping our dishes and the freshest tasting intricate Persian fare on our plates made it worth the journey. 🍷Our faves were definitely the juicy Kubideh, Kashke Bademjun (the most bewildering roasted eggplant dish) and the wine pairings which did not disappoint. Next month- Tamba! 🇮🇳

To all specialty coffee baristas out there, you guys are amazing! I’ve never realized how difficult it is to actually be behind the espresso machine but I’m glad I got the full hand experience. For a month, I’ve been training to be a coffee barista. I love coffee so much that I’ve always been curious how to create the perfect cuppa joe. I just never had the guts to do it.
This time around I took the chance to actually take a course and here I am 8 sessions later, so excited to share with you all this certificate after having an amazing coffee experience. I’m just so proud I faced my anxiety of taking a class on my own and that I can finally make latte with latte art... A new milestone reached!
Thanks mom and dad! Cheers to finally being a trained barista in the making! ☕️ And hey, here’s to you taking a class you’ve always been curious to try too. Surprise yourself. You might just learn so much and have a lot of fun! 💛
Like a tropical island on a plate 🏝 Grilled diver scallops with a cheese, mushroom and mussel tart, red pepper, garam masala and ginger curry and fresh salad greens from Daniel’s garden dressed with a touch of lime and coconut. Happy weekend everyone and see you soon 👍🏽🌞💝
Excited to attend one of our cub’s graduation this weekend. 💙💛 Two cubs down and one more to go. God is good! So before we fly out, got to have a bowl of meaty pho. 🍜💪🏻🤗 #pho#phobo#vietnamesefood

Look, ma! New plates! We’ve had our eyes on so many beautiful dishes, and finally settled on these gorgeous, organic shaped plates and low pasta bowls from @westelm! I especially love that they are perfectly imperfect and not quite round- it makes my little off-kilter heart feel a bit more normal and acceptable. I can’t wait to see them full of food on Sunday!
