It’s snack o’clock for this mama bear. 
Stuffed sweet potato { which are loaded in B vitamins as well as vitamin C, iron + contains phytochelatin, which binds with heavy metals like lead, mercury, copper and carries them out of the body 👍🏽💯} with goat kefir {helps immune system and feeds your good bacteria} mixed with chia seeds, which I soaked overnight. Dollop of coconut yogurt and peanut butter drizzle.

Getting back on the mom groove and studies. Today I am spending sometime in my office {check out my stories to see my little office space} and hoping to get a few loads of laundry done. That laundry life is never complete, I’m sure some of you mamas know what I’m talking about. Thank goodness for matcha lattes for steady caffeine without the jitters or adrenal fatigue.

One time, I went to a restaurant that had vegan tater tots nacho (shout out @onionmaidenpgh ) I didn’t get them because mike thought they would be gross. 🙄 I have been wanting to make my own since! So yesterday for lunch, I made this vegan cheesy goodness 🤤. I got this vegan nacho cheese recipe from @minimalistbaker! .

Recently, I haven’t been eating the best. I am adjusting to a new work schedule and traveling a bunch. So when I when I am under any sort of stress, I crave “fatty” and “unhealthy” food. Good morning, friends! It’s still morning, right? I’m apparently on Cali time and I’m not even mad about it because this morning I experimented with these CHOCOLATE ALMOND BUTTER AVOCADO PROTEIN PANCAKES! 🍫🥑🥞 I woke up craving chocolate (do you sense a theme here??? 😂) so I decided to incorporate some healthy fats to fuel ⛽️! This recipe still needs some work but I’d love to share it with you— leave me a note or a heart if you’re into seeing the recipe on the blog! ❤️ the avocado is mixed into the batter as well as the topping (because double the 🥑 equals double the ❤️ duh) I topped mine with @rbarenergy chocolate brownies squares, @evohemp hemp hearts, avocado, and almond butter. Picked up this plate of Dosas from a stand in Borough Market and they were definitely a trip highlight! As much as a loved being away I also love coming home and being back on track so stay tuned for more delicious and nutritious meals coming your way! .

ellington and i just survived FIVE nights without daddy 🤗 this also happened to be nights ellington decided to wake up EVERY HOUR giving mama only 3-4 hours of sleep a night. but last night, i got five hours of sleep so we have some improvement. and so grateful to my parents and sister who helped during the day so i could at least shower and eat!! now daddy is on a plane home and we couldn’t be more excited to see him! ✈️👶🏽

Happy TGIAF! Last night on my stories, I talked a little bit about finding a way to eat healthy that’s NOT boring- and that’s exactly what this pizza was! Seriously, you don’t need to eat a salad or smoothie for every meal, that gets real old real fast.  Here are the components of a filling and healthy meal:
1. Carbs. We need them to survive people they aren’t bad! My favorite carbs are fruit, potatoes, beans, PIZZA CRUST, taco/tortillas, pasta, BREAD. Stick to a serving and you’re golden.
2. VEGGIES! Load em all up. Doesn’t mean you need to have a salad- stuff peppers and onions in your tacos or throw a bunch of roasted veggies on a pizza or in pasta! Or just have a side of veggies and enjoy them separately. EASY PEASY 
3. Protein: my faves are chicken, eggs, beans, yogurt, chicken sausage... so many fun ways to add these proteins to your meals!
4. Healthy fat: fat is FUEL and keeps you full and satiated. Nuts, pesto, marinara sauce made with olive oil, cheese, eggs, guacamole, pesto! So many yummy ways to use it.

Here are some meal ideas that ARE NOT boring:
•
•serving of pasta (carb) with roasted zucchini and broccoli (veggie) with shredded chicken (protein) and pesto sauce (fat)

• burger: bun (carb) with a side of veggies of choice (veg) and a homemade black bean or chicken or turkey burger (protein- be careful with the boxed brands as these usually have tons of additives) and avocado (fat)

• tacos: tortilla of choice (carb) with roasted peppers and onions and corn (veggies) with black beans and chicken (protein) and guacamole (fat) •
•my pizza: thin crispy crust from target (carb- the whole thing is only two servings so you get a lot of pizza for your serving size buck!), roasted zucchini and roasted stir fry veggies from Costco (veggie- I love roasted frozen veggies- so cheap and easy!), shredded chicken and goat cheese and @raoshomemade marinara with olive oil (proteins and fats!!)

Here are some meal ideas that ARE NOT boring: • •serving of pasta (carb) with roasted zucchini and broccoli (veggie) with shredded chicken (protein) and pesto sauce (fat) • • burger: bun (carb) with a side of veggies of choice (veg) and a homemade black bean or chicken or turkey burger (protein- be careful with the boxed brands as these usually have tons of additives) and avocado (fat) • • tacos: tortilla of choice (carb) with roasted peppers and onions and corn (veggies) with black beans and chicken (protein) and guacamole (fat) • •my pizza: thin crispy crust from target (carb- the whole thing is only two servings so you get a lot of pizza for your serving size buck!), roasted zucchini and roasted stir fry veggies from Costco (veggie- I love roasted frozen veggies- so cheap and easy!), shredded chicken and goat cheese and @raoshomemade marinara with olive oil (proteins and fats!!) • • I hope this was helpful to someone! So the past few months I’ve had serious problems with my hair after using Giovanni Eco Chic Shampoos: Tea Tree Triple Treat & Smooth as Silk for about 8 months my hair and scalp started to dislike the products. My scalp got itchy at first and then my hair became impossible to get clean and glossy. It was totally out of balance. So I stopped using any products for a while. Then I tried John Masters Scalp which I have used before to clarify my hair, but after a few washes it just made my scalp drier. Which resulted in an excessive production of oil, a thick layer of buildup was produced in a week, normally I never had any buildup even though I only wash my hair once a week. Then I tried Rahua and after Rahua I was not able to get my hair clean at all. So what do you do when really expensive brands don’t work and you are stuck with a greasy mess of a hair? Well... I went through my cupboards and looked for 5 ingredients and did the following to clarify and cleanse my scalp and hair within 5 minutes. I mixed 35g of baking soda in 300 ml of lukewarm water and added 2 drops of rosemary essential oil and 2 drops of peppermint essential oil. Then I mixed 200 ml of apple cider vinegar with 800 ml of lukewarm water in a pitcher. Then I went to the shower and wetted my hair, added the baking soda mix to my roots and scalp and gently massaged it for 2 mins. Then I rinsed it with the vinegar mix and massaged it for a minute and let it rest in my hair for 3 mins. Then I rinsed my hair properly with lukewarm water until it was clean and finished with cold water to close up the hair follicles. This is the result, my hair and scalp is cleaner than it has been for several months. I will try to do this rinse twice a week for a few weeks and then wash my hair with the Rahua Classic Shampoo once a week too and use this clarifying hair rinse once a week as well. I really like Rahua but it just can’t cleanse your hair properly if you have buildup of any kind, so this clarifying rinse is a perfect addition to my natural haircare routine. My hair feels soft and hydrated as well as shiny and voluminous. ✨

Czasem błędnie myślimy że kuchnia wegańska to wielogodzinne stanie przy garnkach 🍲🍲 a tutaj mamy naprawdę szybki i wartościowy roślinny obiad. Przygotowanie zajęło tyle co ugotowanie makaronu. Wszystkie produkty kupicie w Biedronce 😉
Pojawiły się w niej makarony białkowe ze strączków, pasty roślinne na kanapki, desery kokosowe i lody wegańskie ❤
Których już niestety po tym obiedzie nie wcisnę 😳😂

*makaron białkowy z soczewicy 125 g (@biedronka) *pasta z cukinii i suszonych pomidorów (@biedronka ) *1 ząbek czosnku
*1/4 awokado *kilka pomidorków papryczkowych
*poł opakowania miksu szpinak/rukola/botwinka
*garść pestek słonecznika
*kiełki rzodkiewki 
Makaron gotujemy, ugotowany mieszamy z połową opakowania pasty, ja doprawiłam jeszcze do smaku czosnkiem i pieprzem. Do tego sałatka z kolorowych liści, pomidorki, kiełki, awokado i pestki. 
Szybko ? No pewnie że tak 😛

☝️El porridge es una super opción para desayunar. Es super versatil, se puede hacer con avena o quinoa tambien pueden ponerle huevo o sino simplemente hacer porridge vegano, se acompaña de fruta rica de temporada y algunos toques más que uno quiera darle. Además puedes hacerlo de chocolate, zapallo, plátano etc! Osea es un desayuno full nutrientes lleno de energía natural y materias primas de calidad para ayudarnos a quedar super satisfechos y también a fortalecer nuestro sistema inmune estos días más fríos...😍

I love love love finding healthy substitutes to heavy cream! Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m a sucker for creamy & saucy foods. 
This cashew cream recipe is super easy to make and can be added to any soup or as a sauce base for any creamy dish! 
To make: 
1. Soak overnight 2 cups of cashews in a bowl of cool water
2. Add in blender: cashews, 1 cup of water, 1 tbsp olive oil

Power Protein Egg Cups

Start your morning off strong with this low-fat, high-protein egg cup recipe with turkey bacon, shredded chicken, and sweet onions and peppers.

Total Time: 35 min.
Prep Time: 15 min.
Cooking Time: 20 min.
Yield: Makes 6 servings, 2 egg cups each

Ingredients:
Nonstick cooking spray
½ cup unsweetened almond milk
16 large egg whites (2 cups)
Sea salt (or Himalayan salt) and ground black pepper (to taste; optional)
2 slices cooked turkey bacon, chopped
3 oz. cooked shredded chicken breast
2 cups chopped red bell peppers
1 cup chopped onion

Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
2. Prepare twelve muffin cups by coating with spray. Set aside.
3. Combine almond milk and egg whites in a medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper, if desired; whisk to blend. Set aside.
4. Evenly divide turkey bacon, chicken, bell peppers, and onion between prepared muffin cups.
5. Evenly pour egg white mixture over turkey bacon mixture.
6. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of egg cups comes out clean, and eggs are set.

Update on my “less is more” in the coffee department... Matcha lattes with @thenewbarn unsweetened vanilla milk, @vitalproteins collagen, and @panateamatcha are life. With 1/4th the caffeine of coffee, it’s easier for me to detox, still giving me energy without jitters (I was getting heart palpitations at night and now they’re gone, be good to your adrenals, kidsssss) .
I tried a cappuccino the other day while traveling and feeling tired for a long day ahead, and after a few sips... didn’t even hesitate tossing it. It just wasn’t good to me. Truthfully, between me chilling out and the crappy almond milk they used to make the latte... I was so over it Hahahaha. It’s always good to mix it up and listen to when your body needs a break. 💚

Quick dinner on the table in 20minutes tonight. Not the most fancy (not quite @jamieoliver ) but pretty good balance of around 1/3rd each of protein, carbohydrates and vegetables. This is what I would often recommend to the Hawthorn footballers I work with who are active people. Others might like to increase the veggies to half of the plate and reduce the carbs and protein somewhat.
Not every meal will balance like this .. like a night of pasta and that's ok.

The chicken was marinated this morning, potatoes cooked in the microwave and then on the barbeque with the chicken. The broccoli and cauliflower were microwaved and then tossed in extra virgin olive oil and cajun spices (from a jar). #hawthornfootballclub

Healing turmeric overnight oats inspired by @healthyespo after recovering from a sick day✨✨✨
I find navigating adult life to be fascinating. I went to bed early Monday night then woke up 2 hours later, feeling super sick. I’ve gotten into the habit of pushing myself past my limit because I technically can, but then I get really sick...which is probably not the healthiest. There was a time when that felt like my best option, but I’m learning that I don’t actually have to do that anymore. AND I’m also being patient with myself in the process of figuring out how much to push my limits, in what areas, and when. Yesterday I lied on the couch all day, watched 6 episodes of keeping up with the kardashians, and slept. Aside from the stomach pain, it was fantastic! Today I headed back into a basically normal day and kept going even when I could tell I’d reached my limit. And that’s okay! Because that’s how I learn what my limit is. It’s a messy process but taking a step back and trying to learn from it all and just notice what’s happening instead of changing it all at once helps so much for me 🙌🏼

life has been handing some lemons lately so i took one of them and squeezed it over this pasta for the perfect last touch to this easy + amazing dinner that i can't wait to make it again! #kimmycooks

• first things first, get your noodles boiling in a pot.
• in a separate skillet, sauté freshly minced garlic in olive oil + butter • add chopped asparagus and freshly shaved corn to the buttery garlicky goodness happening in the skillet • season with salt + black pepper + parsley + oregano + garlic powder + thyme • noodles should be nice and ready now + add them to the buttery garlicky goodness and mix around.
• toss a little spinach in there + squeeze that lemon all over
• serve + enjoy!
