Non dites vous : «  glucide = sucre » en effet, mais un bon sucre vital pour la survie de notre corps. ils nous apportent ce qu’on appelle des « glucides complexes » qui contrairement aux glucides simples des aliments sucrés (sucre, boissons sucrées, confiseries, pâtisseries, desserts lactés, etc.) fournissent une énergie que le corps est capable d’utiliser progressivement. Not you say: "carbs = sugar" indeed, but a good sugar vital for the survival of our body. they bring us what we call "complex carbs" which unlike simple carbs sweet foods (sugar, sugary drinks, pastries, dairy desserts, etc.) provide an energy that the body is able to use gradually. I eat them at every meal (yes, yes even in the evening). Here is a small non-exhaustive list of those who consume frequently but there are many more because I say yes to carbs! I mainly avoid carbs made from white flour (question of taste, because they are not so bad because when you do not abuse anything is bad). I have been saving this picture since my last year’s Switzerland trip for today 🏔. Switzerland was one of the most magnanimous countries I have ever been to. The towering mountains, the gushing waterfalls all around you (literally), the luscious greenery and the winding roads.

Places like this are why I choose to eat plant based 🌱. We are privileged enough to live in a part of the world where we have a choice: meat or plants. I choose plants to not only save the life of thousands of animals, but to uphold this earth and places such as this. This isn’t to judge those that chose meat, only to help you become more aware of how everyday choices effect the world 🌎 . FACT: Our meat consumption is unsustainable. These animal agriculture statistics are what made me say holy crap, no more.

While 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions are caused by transportation, a whopping 51% are from livestock and their byproducts.
Livestock covers 45% of the earth’s TOTAL land 🐮.
One hamburger takes 600 gallons of water to make, which is the equivalent of showering for 2 months 🚿 .
91% of amazing destruction is caused by animal agriculture.
1-2 acres of #rainforest are cleared every second and 110 animal/insect species are lost every day from rainforest destruction.
The meat and dairy industries use 1/3 of earth’s fresh water 💦 .
For every 1 pound of fish caught, 5 pounds of unintended marine species are caught and discarded as by-kill 🎣 .

The past couple of days, even with exams ending, have still been busy with packing, cleaning, and rehearsing, but thank goodness for quick and easy vegan meal prep!✨
Who ever said veganism couldn’t be convenient?😜
Not to mention taste amazing!
And this beautiful Sunday I wanted to share my favourite quick and easy breakfast with you all💓
Because although I do love my nice cream and smoothie bowls, sometimes the clock isn’t in favour of them😂
The deets👇🏻
A base of Shredded Wheat (or, for a gluten free option, sub with oatmeal which can be premade for the week ahead!)
Mixed berries (fresh or frozen, I tend to use frozen when I’m in a real rush)
Coconut yogurt
Whatever other fun little additions your heart desires!
Although pictured in a bowl here, I’ve been just putting these things in a Tupperware container when I’m rushing out the door in the morning and it works like a charm💓 The frozen berries keep the coconut yogurt cold and by the time I go to eat it, it’s absolutely perfect😌

Happy Sunday ☀️ I‘m still on my gluten-load for my test for celiac in two weeks and I created this super simple, delicious couscous recipe! 
For 2 portions you will need:
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
200g dry couscous
300ml plantmilk (I used soy, unflavoured)
100ml water
4 plums 
2 tbsp cinnamon
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Start by heating the water, milk & 1 tbsp of the cinnamon in a small pot until boiling. Meanwhile measure your couscous into a medium bowl and add the boiling liquid. Let the couscous absorb the liquid for ~10 minutes. In the meantime chop your plums and add them to the rinsed pot with a splash of water and the remaining tbsp of cinnamon. Simmer for approx. 10 minutes with a closed lid, stirring occasionally. If it starts sticking, add a bit more water. Once your plums are nice and soft, turn off your stove, divide the couscous into two bowls and top it with your plums. Yum! This can easily be made glutenfree by swapping the couscous for soaked or cooked oats, maybe some cooked quinoa or any other grain you fancy!

Did you know that iodized salt inhibits the fermentation process?
I found that our the hard way when My fermentation would turn to sludge. Nope, I didn’t post those pics. It was gross ;) Did you know that different bacteria are present at different stages of fermentation?
Did you know that the fruits, vegetables, sugars (heck, everything!) that you eat supports a particular microbe climate in your gut and that these microorganisms may help or hinder your immune system and your body’s natural pain response?

#mealprep Comme je vous l'ai montré en story ce matin j'ai cuit des oléagineux (trempage toute la nuit) et des céréales que je stocke au frais dans des contenants en verre. J'en ai pour plusieurs repas c'est bien pratique. Idem pour le pain j'ai fait des bagels et des petits pain que je congèle. J'ai aussi fait une pâte à gaufres. Je mettrai toutes les recettes vues en story sur le blog dans la semaine. Du coup ce midi c'est #buddhabowl avec pois chiches, petit épeautre et tempeh et des noix.

From zinc to magnesium, some of the most important vitamins can be found within the husk of a seed. Many of our society’s deficiencies could be solved if everyone made the effort to pop a few seeds every day!

The idea of munching on a handful of seeds has always seemed pretty unappetising to me. Luckily, there are countless delicious ways to incorporate them into your diet. I’m a big fan of sprinkling flax seeds on top of smoothie bowls, making creamy chia pudding and creating the best homemade muesli (recipe on the blog!) I’m currently typing this from a sunny garden in London - spring has officially arrived, and I couldn’t be happier about it.
