🍠🥔🍞🍚 Starchy foods are foods in the carbs family and you say, "carbs = sugar = booo, not good". Not you say: "carbs = sugar" indeed, but a good sugar vital for the survival of our body. they bring us what we call "complex carbs" which unlike simple carbs sweet foods (sugar, sugary drinks, pastries, dairy desserts, etc.) provide an energy that the body is able to use gradually. I eat them at every meal (yes, yes even in the evening). Here is a small non-exhaustive list of those who consume frequently but there are many more because I say yes to carbs! I mainly avoid carbs made from white flour (question of taste, because they are not so bad because when you do not abuse anything is bad). Carbs, friends or enemies for you? #eatplants#plantbased#plantbaseddiet#plantpower#wholefood#veganfitness#veganbodybuilding#plantprotein#vegangains#veganswholift#vegangirl#dieting#vegan#veganfood#veganfoodshare#cleaneating#healthyfood#healthyliving#healthylife#healthyeating#healthychoices#eathealthy#organic#iifym#cleanfood#cleaneats#realfood#fitnessfood#fitfood#nutrition

Sip up🥤to this refreshing spring detoxing drink!! Did you know . . . (1) Lemons have citric acid which is a dynamic detox to colon cleansing as it aides in eliminating toxins in the bowels and bloating. (2) Grapefruit’s natural sugars are easy for your body to break down for energy. The water in the juice help flush out built up toxins as the vitamins & minerals help speed up the cleansing process. (3) Mint sweetens up this tasty detoxing water without adding sugars and aids in digestion as it helps clean out those nasty toxins. (4) Cucumber boosts your immune system as it’s an anti-inflammatory that keeps you hydrated too!
Gather: - Cucumbers
- Fresh Mint
- Grapefruit - Lime

Happy #EarthDay 🌍
I have been saving this picture since my last year’s Switzerland trip for today 🏔. Switzerland was one of the most magnanimous countries I have ever been to. The towering mountains, the gushing waterfalls all around you (literally), the luscious greenery and the winding roads.
Places like this are why I choose to eat plant based 🌱. We are privileged enough to live in a part of the world where we have a choice: meat or plants. I choose plants to not only save the life of thousands of animals, but to uphold this earth and places such as this. This isn’t to judge those that chose meat, only to help you become more aware of how everyday choices effect the world 🌎 . FACT: Our meat consumption is unsustainable. These animal agriculture statistics are what made me say holy crap, no more.
While 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions are caused by transportation, a whopping 51% are from livestock and their byproducts.
Livestock covers 45% of the earth’s TOTAL land 🐮.
One hamburger takes 600 gallons of water to make, which is the equivalent of showering for 2 months 🚿 .
91% of amazing destruction is caused by animal agriculture.
1-2 acres of #rainforest are cleared every second and 110 animal/insect species are lost every day from rainforest destruction.
The meat and dairy industries use 1/3 of earth’s fresh water 💦 .
For every 1 pound of fish caught, 5 pounds of unintended marine species are caught and discarded as by-kill 🎣 .
What eating a #plantbased diet can do:
Cuts your carbon footprint by 50% 👟
To feed one person for one year, a meat eater needs 18x as much land as a #vegan person does.
1.5 acres of land can be used to make 37,000 pounds of plant-based food or just 375 pounds of meat❗️
There are SO many ways to #protect this world, eating plant based is my way. I’m curious what yours is! ♻️ 🚲 🌱🌳🌏.
Good morning, sunbeams! I hope you’re all having a wonderful Sunday. And if it hasn’t started yet, I hope that it brings you joy and leaves you feeling refreshed and ready to take on this week💓
The past couple of days, even with exams ending, have still been busy with packing, cleaning, and rehearsing, but thank goodness for quick and easy vegan meal prep!✨
Who ever said veganism couldn’t be convenient?😜
Not to mention taste amazing!
And this beautiful Sunday I wanted to share my favourite quick and easy breakfast with you all💓
Because although I do love my nice cream and smoothie bowls, sometimes the clock isn’t in favour of them😂
A base of Shredded Wheat (or, for a gluten free option, sub with oatmeal which can be premade for the week ahead!)
Mixed berries (fresh or frozen, I tend to use frozen when I’m in a real rush)
Whatever other fun little additions your heart desires!
Although pictured in a bowl here, I’ve been just putting these things in a Tupperware container when I’m rushing out the door in the morning and it works like a charm💓 The frozen berries keep the coconut yogurt cold and by the time I go to eat it, it’s absolutely perfect😌
What are your favourite go-to breakfasts? And would you guys be interested in seeing some vegan meal prep?
Be sure to let me know😘👇🏻
Have a beautiful day, beautiful humans!🌸
So, Joel helped to grab for Glen the coconut oil and spoon before thinking of capturing the moment. Thus, missing the face after having oregano - undiluted. Lesson learnt, having coconut oil at the ready to oil pull, is a very quick way of finding relief after a hot oil. These oils are safe, though with education. So let us share our knowledge with you in one of our fun & educational classes or workshops. We love learning from our experience, and to be able to share with you so you can learn these tools too, which were once natural remedies everyone knew and will once again be normal for our future generations. Let's not re-invent the wheel, mother nature already has the answers. Check out our upcoming events on Eventbrite. #aromadudes#ivegotanoilforthat

Happy Sunday ☀️ I‘m still on my gluten-load for my test for celiac in two weeks and I created this super simple, delicious couscous recipe!
For 2 portions you will need:
200g dry couscous
300ml plantmilk (I used soy, unflavoured)
2 tbsp cinnamon
Start by heating the water, milk & 1 tbsp of the cinnamon in a small pot until boiling. Meanwhile measure your couscous into a medium bowl and add the boiling liquid. Let the couscous absorb the liquid for ~10 minutes. In the meantime chop your plums and add them to the rinsed pot with a splash of water and the remaining tbsp of cinnamon. Simmer for approx. 10 minutes with a closed lid, stirring occasionally. If it starts sticking, add a bit more water. Once your plums are nice and soft, turn off your stove, divide the couscous into two bowls and top it with your plums. Yum! This can easily be made glutenfree by swapping the couscous for soaked or cooked oats, maybe some cooked quinoa or any other grain you fancy!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday ☀️☀️💕
I first tried @cocolico’s vegan tarts at last months vegan market and was blown away. Here’s another of her beautiful creations. It’s a lemon curd tart with vegan meringue. Absolutely scrumptious! Céline will be at Reading’s vegan market next weekend, so be sure to get there early if you want to try any of her delights 💗
HAPPY EARTH DAY!
With everything we do at @wildfoodcafe - from foraged wild plant food to compostable straws - we celebrate the one and only 💗🌏💗
🌏 for us, the biggest positive difference we can make towards beautifying our shared home is:
🌎 Take time to connect to nature, the wilderness, smell the flowers, reach out to the sky: the connection brings unique, individual awareness, and the new awareness brings new solutions and positive, aligned actions in our daily lives 🙌🏻⛰
🌎 The biggest anti-dote to feeling powerless when facing all the ‘mega’ global issues is knowledge and a continuous experiential study of ourselves and our ecosystem 🌿🤓👊🏼 it is not beyond our capacity to see the whole picture and serve its vision! 🌈
🌍 The most important thing to remember is that there is no separation between us and the Earth, we are deeply interrelated: the study of the Earth is the study of Ourselves and the other way round 🌀
🌍 From good nutrition, plant food, to holistic wellbeing of ourselves, our communities, animals and the whole ecosystem - there are so many ways for us all to continuously increase our engagement to be aware, to be mindful, to be more in harmony with nature, to be a positive force on the planet.
🌎 We can all loose a sense of perspective and get caught up in overthinking, being hard on ourselves and others: ‘wait did you compost that plastic bottle?’ The attitude of gratitude is a saving grace and the guiding force for us - it keeps us moving forward with loving kindness.
It all starts with here and now ☀️🌙🌿 #excitingtimes

Making granola today 🌿 This time I skipped the coconut oil, but I added some shredded coconut instead 🌴 I love everything coconut (except eating it!) but after having that smoothie bowl the other day I suddenly realized that I liked it 💚 Little tropical twist to my good old granola - just in time for Spring and Summer 🌞🌺
Here we’ve got fermented Napa cabbage but without the traditional kimchi spices.
Did you know that iodized salt inhibits the fermentation process?
I found that our the hard way when My fermentation would turn to sludge. Nope, I didn’t post those pics. It was gross ;) Did you know that different bacteria are present at different stages of fermentation?
Did you know that the fruits, vegetables, sugars (heck, everything!) that you eat supports a particular microbe climate in your gut and that these microorganisms may help or hinder your immune system and your body’s natural pain response?
It ain’t about the weight.
Are you eating enough of nature’s mini powerhouses?
While a handful of seeds may look unassuming, inside that hard little shell they’re actually bursting with nutrients.
From zinc to magnesium, some of the most important vitamins can be found within the husk of a seed. Many of our society’s deficiencies could be solved if everyone made the effort to pop a few seeds every day!
The idea of munching on a handful of seeds has always seemed pretty unappetising to me. Luckily, there are countless delicious ways to incorporate them into your diet. I’m a big fan of sprinkling flax seeds on top of smoothie bowls, making creamy chia pudding and creating the best homemade muesli (recipe on the blog!) I’m currently typing this from a sunny garden in London - spring has officially arrived, and I couldn’t be happier about it.
How do you guys eat your seeds? I’d love some new recipes!
Be kind to all earthlings! Happy Earth-Day from Elixiba 🐷🍀🙏🏼 #earthday
This #earthday2018 we’re thinking about our impact on the planet and what better place to start than with the McCartneys. Linda pioneered vegetarian food in the 90s and, after she died, Paul, Stella and Mary set up the #meatfreemonday campaign - something we’ve successfully subscribed to at the pub 💚
