1 tsp maple syrup
Blend everything until smooth. .
Happy Earth day! 🌎🌿What are you doing to help the planet? 👉🏻Did you know that the most significant change you can make to help the planet and reduce your carbon footprint is to eliminate all animal products from your diet? Animal agriculture is responsible for 51% of greenhouse gas emissions. The waste from factory farming pollutes our water and causes toxic algae blooms. It is responsible for 90% of rainforest destruction. Animal agriculture is the leading cause of species extinction, ocean dead zones, water pollution and habitat destruction. There's no such thing as a meat-eating environmentalist. 👉🏻Did you know that the UN has been urging a global move to a meat- and dairy-free diet for several years to save the planet? 👉🏻Did you also know that the amount of water it takes to produce one (ONE!!!) hamburger is equal to two months of showers? That's 660+ gallons of water. I don't know about you but if I had to choose between a hamburger and two months without a shower, I'd skip the hamburger. Please educate yourself. This planet is the only place we have to live. This is EVERYONE's problem. If we don't take action now the future generations will never forgive us for destroying the planet and leaving nothing. Unfortunately the administration we're stuck with for the next 3 years doesn't believe in science and thinks global warming is a hoax. #fuckdonald If you think the Trump administration will do anything to help the environment, you're in for a big slap in the face. They’ve already made things so much worse. It's up to us. Watch documentaries and take action. Do your part. 👉🏻Here are a few of my recommendations for environmental docs: •Cowspiracy •Earthlings •Before the Flood •Plastic Paradise: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch
Happy Earth day! 🌎 Aside from the many health benefits of a plant-based diet, it is also happens to be an amazing way to reduce our individual impact on the environment. Meat and dairy production is a very inefficient process. It requires so much more resources (water, grain, etc) to produce animal-based foods, when you can go straight to the source and choose plants instead! For example, it takes roughly 1,000 gallons of water to produce 1 gallon of cows milk, whereas #almondmilk only requires 25 gallons of water. Methane production by cows 🐮 also has a big impact, and is one reason why animal agriculture is responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than all forms of transportation combined. Aside from the documentaries already mentioned, I’d also suggest watching Leonardo DiCaprio’s film “Before the Flood” for more info. As always, I am more than happy to help answer any questions, or provide more resources/recipes! #govegan#plantbased#eatfortheplanet#friendsnotfood#vegan
Today is Earth day wahoo! Surely every day is Earth day, really? But if you’re thinking of what you can do to help our beautiful Earth, reducing the environmental impact of the food you eat is possibly the easiest and most effective way to have an impact. The greenhouse gas emissions caused by the diet of a meat-eater is on average about twice that of a vegan (Scarborough et al., 2014) - so if you want to act for the future of our fragile planet, think about what you eat. Let’s love our Earth, we only have one💚 🌍 💚
Did you know that eating plant-based is one of the best things you can do for the planet?
It’s so easy to do when you can still have spaghetti and ‘meatballs’. These are from the Eat to Live Quick and Easy Cookbook by @joelfuhrmanmd and wow are they good. Even when you forget the soy sauce 😱
It's #EarthDay and the best way to practice green living is by eating your greens! That's why we've teamed up with our friend @zachariot for a special @eftp.co GIVEAWAY! You and a friend can each win his new book, #EatForThePlanet , plus a $50 Veggie Grill gift card – just tag a friend in the comments who is trying to live a little greener! 👇 Good luck! Winner will be announced on our Story this Wednesday...
still reminiscing about the meal i had from @doomiestoronto just before going on my trip last month. i tried the chicken and waffles which were a delicious balance of savoury and sweet. can’t wait to go back sometime this summer to try more of their menu, and hopefully a milkshake. and before i forget, happy earth day friends.
Saw @leefromamerica Make a dip board earlier this week so I was inspired to make a Snack board yesterday for some friends as colorful and beautiful as this. 💜💕✨ Featuring some fresh local ingredients like asparagus, cucumber, radish and strawberries. Also used organic cherry tomatos, celery, avocado, carrots. Served it with a homemade Paleo beetroot (local beets from @localfarmok) ‘hummus’ (no legumes), olive tampenade from @traderjoes. and marinated feta from #lomahdairy from my favorite @tulsafarmersmarket fresh local cheese and grain free crackers from @simplemills. Also some dates! Dates with cheese are the besttttt 🤤. Happy Earth 🌏 Day. Let’s take care of this one planet we have and call home 💗.
Happy Earth Day Insta Friends!!! Our Mother Earth is one and the only one we ever get! 🌏
Today is a stormy day where we live, we planned to spend Earth day by the ocean but we are adapting with indoor crafting and play. We also discussed committing to changes that as a family we can do to reduce our environmental footprint. We are a BIG family of eight (Louie 🐶 included) so reducing our waste is no easy task. The past few months we’ve done better with re using our recycled materials for art crafts, diy toys and classroom materials. We are renewing our commitment to use as minimal plastic bags as we can for groceries, snacks and any other everyday use. And lastly, a new commitment for our family (that I’m SUPER excited about) beginning tomorrow, we will be having “Meatless Monday’s” in our home. This has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a LONG while and I’m grateful that my husband is ready to support this change. Did you know that if everyone in the United States went meatless for one day we would:
- save 70 million gallons of gas--enough to fuel all the cars of Canada and Mexico combined with plenty to spare.
- it would be the equivalent of taking 5 million cars off the road. - the US would save 100 billion gallons of water, enough to supply all the homes in New England for almost 4 months. - 1.5 billion pounds of crops otherwise fed to livestock, would be enough to feed the state of New Mexico for more than a year. -open up 3 million acres of land, an area more than twice the size of Delaware.

The Earth provides us with EVERYTHING we need and really doesn’t ask for anything back. It’s a pretty good deal for us! But at this point, we humans are really taking advantage and causing harm that will eventually make Mother Earth unable to provide for all her beings. Up on the blog, 5 things you can do (not just on Earth Day, but everyday), to stop causing harm to the very thing that allows us to survive. #happyearthday 🌎
Happy #earthday ! Mother Earth gives us beautiful trees that provide a habitat for singing birds; healing plants that give us oxygen to breathe; the soothing ocean that helps to form clouds that give us fresh water; and majestic rainforests that provide freshwater, energy, biodiversity and medicinal plants. It's up to us to protect the planet and Earth Day is the perfect reminder of how we can be more conscious about our daily habits and what we can do to positively impact the environment. I don’t know about you but I know that I can always do better. Recycling alone is no longer enough (plus less than 25% of what we throw into recycling actually gets recycled😓). It's not necessarily about perfection, it's about making a conscious effort and be more mindful about our daily habits and conveniences - what can we live without? @instantlydean challenged me to craft a blog listing 50 things we can do without and i took him up on the challenge 😃🙌🏼I realized that there’s a lot I’m personally doing for convenience that I could seriously do without. Check out 53 Things We Could Live Without for Planet Earth. (yes, Dean three extra, now it’s your turn👊🏼). Link in bio. 🌍🌱

The @UNFAO (among others) have reported that animal agriculture is responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than all of the transportation sector combined, and that animal agriculture is the leading driver of deforestation around the world.
As the report from the independent policy institute @ChathamHouse_org explains, without addressing meat consumption, it will be near impossible to keep global warming below the “danger level” of 2 degrees Celsius.
We clearly need to move away from fossil fuels, but we also urgently need a mass global shift away from animal foods.
What will it take for us, as a society, to wake up and make the needed changes before it’s too late?

shoutout to mama earth for being amazing and doing her very best for us every single day 🌎✨. for always giving in abundance and sharing all that she has – her soil, her air, her harvest, her art, her unexplainable magic. for reminding us to let go because everything is temporary. for teaching us that there is equal value in the rain and sun. for showing us what it means to live in harmony, in equilibrium, in a balance that serves every part of the whole.
i think that earth day resolutions should be a thing 🌻. i do my best to give back to mother earth in the way that i live each day, but i know i can do better. eating only plant foods is a beautiful foundation, and just this week i finally took a step toward no longer using plastic bags at the farmers market and grocery store, which was previously my biggest shortcoming. so i am setting the intention to not use ANY plastic bags for the next month (and hopefully the rest of the year - but we’ve got to start with small goals that feel doable, right?).
will you join me? what is YOUR earth day resolution this year? 💚
Happy Earth Day 🌏
I gotta give myself a shout out here because over the years I have changed EVERYTHING about my lifestyle and now I can confidently say I talk the talk and walk the walk; eating for our environment (at least 80% of the time), we recycle as much as humanly possible, I use cloth grocery bags, I sold my Wrangler (😭) for a very fuel efficient car, we are minimizing our lifestyle to prepare for tiny living, I pick up garbage on the street as I walk by, I literally pick through our garbage at work when I see something recyclable in it because it hurts my soul so I just have to do it...
Anyway, it feels good to reflect on what Earth Day means to me, how much I love our beautiful planet, and how proud I am of my commitments to it ❤️ 🌎 .
Happy earth day! I was searching for earth day foods, but everything was full of artificial dyes and ingredients that are not friendly to the earth nor people, especially not little developing bodies. So instead I focused on creating healthy meals based on teaching the importance of being environmental stewards. I couldn’t get the idea of the green and blue earth muffins out of my head. So I made naturally colored, naturally flavored earth muffins! Personally I think they came out awesome and my kids loved them! They are lemon mulberry muffins with spirulina. #earthday
