Look for a nearby forest, a park, a piece of grass and take off your shoes. Connect to the earth and enjoy that feeling. The natural rhythmic pulsations of energy flowing through and emanating from the surface of the Earth keep the biological machinery and global life running in rhythm and balance-and that includes you! Unfortunately, we live like cut flowers, detached from the nourishing Earth energy.. Take advantage of the good weather and reconnect.
And breathe... Don’t forget about your fabulous feet today folks 👣 We spend so much time in our heads that often the other end of the body can get neglected. I love walking barefoot, and it gets a lot easier at this time of year! If you’re too shy to do it in public just take your shoes off in the garden or at the park, the benefits of grounding are widespread and slowly being more recognised by science. Part of my new daily routine is massaging one of favourite dōTERRA blends on my feet in the morning. Balance reminds me of being in a forest, and I sure could do with the reminder to stay grounded and I have a tendency to be in my head too much. What can you do to get connected with the earth today? Do share your favourite ways in the comments... #grounding#barefoot 🌎👣🌳
Did you know that putting your bare feet on the earth is beneficial? It is called grounding/earthing and studies show that it helps with blood pressure, reducing cortisol , and even helps improve sleep. It’s believed that we absorb the free electrons that circulate in the earth.
Don’t worry if you can’t get outdoors. Balance, the grounding blend, can help support you! This oil helps me with feelings of anxiousness and in times of stress (did you know I teach 6th grade).
I use this oil daily. #forrealtho
I highly encourage you to stand in the grass or sand and breathe in some fresh air. Use balance and say a positive affirmation, it can change your day.
This weekend was not easy for any of us. Whether it be the approaching full moon, a full school program, anxiety about finding somewhere to live or my unexpected change in job, I have stopped trying to analyse the ‘why’ and instead choose to concentrate on supporting my body and mind in the right way to stay focussed and strong. I love my oils, especially at times like this.
Yesterday I took the girls and dogs out into the fresh air of a beautiful day. Being outdoors is renewing for the soul in itself, but I was also feeling the need to ‘earth’ – and I knew my girls would also feel better with some outdoors ‘grounding’. Just that direct physical contact of the human body with the earth has a beautiful effect on mind and body wellbeing. So we walked, found some long grass and kicked off our shoes... It lifted my heart to see the girls laughing and smiling – instead of arguing and crying. ‘Grounding’ in aromatherapy terms is about connecting with the present, being in the now and physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally and energetically rooted.
Think about a tree, with roots that go deep into the earth, and which also sways, reaches for light and changes with the season. This also emphasises that being grounded doesn’t mean being rigid and fixed to one spot without changing.
The tree stands firmly rooted to the ground but accomplishes all the tasks it’s meant to do.
With so many health problems and high stress levels faced by many in today’s busy society, many of us are ungrounded – or grounded only for part of the time.
Essential Oils for Grounding tend to be those obtained from the barks, roots, needles and resin of aromatic plants. These are some of the most effective essential oils to provide grounding support:
5. Cinnamon Bark
9. Blue Tansy
10. Siberian Fir
11. Balance (Grounding blend)
Feel free to share your favourite way to stay grounded and support your mind-health 🙏☯️🧡💜🙏 #doterraoils#grounding#mentalhealth#souloils#earthing#sunshine#lightupyoursoul#smile#oilsforgrounding
I gave myself permission to feel,
and experience all of my emotions.
In order to do that, I had to
stop being afraid to feel.
In order to do that,
I taught myself to
believe that no matter
what i felt or what
happened when i felt it,
It would be okay.

We were 2 miles into our hike when the woodland trees bathed in the glory of this May rain. The musky fragrance of the dewy forest floor awakened my senses. Time unravels at its own pace here, and it means nothing to the creatures that call this place home.
I take deep breaths in my lungs letting it slowly heal me. I exhale letting go.
I submit to my own will and venture into the unknown. .

Did you know; in Holland during the 1630’s tulips were used as a form of currency. The bulbs were so valuable, people were buying land with them for heavens SAKE 😧 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well, this weekend was insightful. It’s bittersweet; this whole deep self connection thing.
As someone who battles with anxiousness and worry, it can be difficult to Just Be sometimes. There’s mostly/always that underlying feeling of pending doom🤯
I can’t really explain that to you in words-
It’s just a cluster of eerie, hollow sensations that vibrate deep within and around me.
Sometimes it creeps in close and other times it stays at a comfortable distance.
Im learning how to sit alongside it and listen to what she’s trying to tell me. It’s not the enemy.
It actually doesn’t even bother me anymore-it doesn’t hold power over me. Now a days, it’s a fairly tame lion actually.
Sometimes it’s meaningless banter, other times it’s some pretty worthwhile shit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My shadow side- she’s loud and speaks in sensations.
I’ve always felt her, ever since I was just a little wee Rands.
I’m finally learning how to articulate+listen.
Anxiety comes in many different faces. Im learning that mine- and yes, it’s mine- is actually like a personal guidebook/alarm system of sorts, that seems to be looking out for the better in me.
I dunno, tried to return it but the policies didn’t work out in my favour 😬 HAA
All is good, all is well. Just lots to learn! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Seems as though I’m right where I need to be though 😎👍🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This girl was such a helper putting the garden in. She loves to get dirty, plant veggies, and eat cherry tomatoes. 🍅 (I can still remember one of our first gardens at the new house and she was a tiny tot in her diaper only, dancing on the deck after a warm, summer rain, much like last night’s rain.)
Day 6 of the #dare2barechallenge for @butiyoga is all about RITUAL. "These days it can be challenging to find true STILLNESS. Life is busy. Technology is literally EVERYWHERE. Do you have a ritual that keeps you grounded and connected with nature?"
My go to grounding poses are malasana and #vriksasana (pictured here, taken after a nice family hike today ❤️) whenever I'm in vriksasana or 🌲 #treepose I literally imagine roots growing out of my stablizing foot and deep into the earth to ground me. I then like to extend my arms high, and it feels like I'm connecting the ethereal to the earth. It's one of my favorite positions and always has been. As far as rituals go, this prompt has reminded me that I've been a bit lackadaisical in this department. I used to be very intentional about journaling, taking my own inventory and meditating more. Lately my ritual has been making sure I get my buti in and making sure I take my savasana at the end. It's so important to take at least 2-5 min at the end of your practice for that meditation. It's what we prep the body for during the practice. I can feel the difference big time if I'm not able to for some reason. Also, weekly saging of the home space, saunas and or baths are up there on the list, too. 😊 What are some rituals that you are intentional about that help you stay grounded/de-stressed & in touch with your true self?
FUN FACT - I don’t like wearing shoes! 👣 During the summer I am permanently bare foot (to the point that I’ve been known to forget my shoes when going to important meetings 🤦♀️) and in winter, I make an effort to walk on the beach with no shoes on, or rock the bare feet as often as poss! (Without freezing my stubby little toes off 😂👣❄️) Sound strange to you? Maybe! 🤷♀️ But I reckon maybe you should try it too 😊
Taking off your rubber soled shoes and allowing your feet to touch the earth is one of the most grounding things you can do 🌏
Give it a go and let me know how you feel 🍃👣✨

#dare2barechallenge - Day 6 - Post a picture in the yoga pose you feel GROUNDS you the most and tell us about your ritual in the caption.
I ❤️ Pigeon Pose. Especially outdoors. Something about being able to press my third eye directly into the earth feels incredibly powerful.
Staying grounded is a very difficult thing for me. Being out in nature helps immensely. I try to get out into the woods or to the beach as close to daily as I possibly can. (Well, when it's not the harsh Buffalo winter, anyway) It recently occurred to me just how lucky I am to have such easy access to both. I don't ever want to take that for granted!
Take your shoes off (optional) and join us on a nature walk and talk.
Learn all about how living in line with the laws of nature is fundamental to human health, why your body requires elemental exposure on a daily basis and the "benefits" that arise from it.
There will be many opportunities to learn about different plants growing in the area, some of their uses and edibility.
During the walk their will be potential movement snacks, climbing trees, balancing along logs and exploring the wilderness.
If you are interested in learning more about the philosophy behind Wild Movement this is the barefoot adventure for you.
