Honored to have been included in this very cool event. Last Sunday, @dressember organized a 5k in LA and raised over $22k to end modern day slavery. They have raised over $3,000,000 since 2013! #dressember#youcandoanythinginadress
When I was young, I had issues with my speech. I was pulled from class multiple times a week for speech therapy, an act that would leave me feeling isolated and abnormal. While therapy was able to cure me of my speech disorder, some days I still live with this ancient insecurity that something is wrong with my voice.
But I’ve been learning that there are too many important things that need to be said these days to let anybody (yes, this includes ourselves) tell us that our voice does not work — that our voice is not heard. The world needs our roar.

Big news! I am so excited to publicly announce that I will be a designer of one of the dresses for @dressember this fall! I cannot put into words how thankful and honored I am to be included in their mission.
Dressember equips a community of advocates to fight for the dignity of all people, leading to the protection and freedom of millions. This past fall they raised close to $2 million dollars!
It takes a lot of work to fight to end human trafficking through a variety of avenues. The funds and efforts of dressember directly impacts prevention, awareness and direct services. Ending human trafficking takes a tribe of people fighting alongside of each other and they are doing just that.
I can’t wait to see what al of the other designers come up with! To get a sneak peek of mine go to my IG story! #itsmorethanadress 📷: if this is your photo let me know so I give you credit!
We don’t love early mornings.
We also don’t love running.
But yesterday swayed us to do a little more of both.
Our first #youcandoanythinginadress 5k was nothing short of magical.
Thank you to everyone who showed up at our official 5k in Los Angeles or ran with us from your own city.
Yesterday, we learned from CAST’s Director of Empowerment Programs, Carol Lumpkin, about the power that $150 has to assist a transition aged youth in their escape and in their recovery. We’ve already raised over $20,000 for @castlosangeles & we’ll continue to leave campaign pages open to allow them to reach even more youth in Southern California!
In case you missed it, you can still listen to our 5k podcast at dressember.org/5kpodcast & contribute to our impact by following the link in our bio.

Hey guyzz ♥️ So I got to do something really cool this morning for #Hippeas ✌🏼☺️ I found out just yesterday that I was manning the booth for a 5K charity run at Griffith Park. 🏃🏽♀️Sometimes I get to do a little leg work in helping our team find events like this to pop up at. Sometimes my brilliant field manager @juliaisfong sets us up with an event, and I just show up ready to work not knowing quite what I’m getting into, like today ☺️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀When I arrived to set up, I found out the whole thing was being hosted by a foundation called @Dressember, who’s “advocates partner in the fight to rescue, protect, and restore the lives of trafficking victims across the world. Funds raised through Dressember provide the means to create and build victim relief programs that make a lasting impact.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I’m sharing this with you guys because I care so deeply about this cause and I’ve always wanted to join the fight against human trafficking. I was really really excited to learn more about this foundation and I did all sorts of research and I’m so impressed and overwhelmed with everything that @Dressember is doing for victims all over the world. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀If you’d like to donate or learn more about how to get involved, visit their IG page or their website dressember.org ♥️♥️♥️ #youcandoanythinginadress
First EVER Dressember 5k!! What an AMAZING addition to the Dressember campaign!💃🏻🏃♀️
All week I have been casually mentioning to people that I’d be running a 5k in a dress... and have been surprised at the total shock on people’s faces! At one point, a man (with his two MORTIFIED/embarrassed daughters, I’m sure) in the Checkout line at Ross turned around and couldn’t help but ask question after question after question...
Can’t wait for next year’s 5k... 🤞🏼... already brainstorming outfit choices and unique ways to fundraise! Thanks @sarahcbrewington and @love___danielle for being my wolf pack/brunch buddies for the day!
@dressember is a nonprofit that has been raising awareness and funds to end human trafficking... and it all started with a dress! Check them out and all the great work they are doing, as well as the organizations they partner with to help put an end to modern day slavery.
So happy to have been a part of @dressember ‘s FIRST #youcandoanythinginadress5k and to have been able to meet the CEO and founder of this incredible organization. The money raised through this campaign will go to a local LA organization called CAST that is in this fight in one of the top places that is a hub for human trafficking. For two decades, CAST has supported thousands of survivors on their journey to freedom, from counseling and mentorship, to legal resources and housing, to education and leadership training. | I’m thankful for the opportunity this fundraising gave me to inform others of what human trafficking is and what they can do to learn, be aware, and help locally and globally. To everyone who donated, THANK YOU! Thank you for joining what is only the beginning of this fight.
