At this point in the school year it’s hard to not feel like we’re all just running on fumes. Behaviors are up and motivation is down. We have 24 days left here and my co-teacher and I are just doing whatever we can to make it through! • How many days left do you have and what are some tips and tricks you’re using to get through these last few weeks?
I was tired of finding different playing cards all around the classroom because the boxes have ripped or they simply just fell out. These travel soap dishes are perfect to hold all of our different decks!!
Hey there! I figured it’s time for an introduction! 🤓 My name is Meghan. I teach at a social-emotional special education school in Massachusetts and I have been teaching in the middle school self-contained program for two years! I’m really lucky to say that I wake up excited to go to work most days for one reason or another. • I am a crazy plant lady and will take any excuse to add more to my collection! I am openly obsessed with pigs (my students enable and encourage it) and I have big dreams of owning my own little piggy one day 💖🐷 Although the pup in this picture is a doll, I unfortunately don’t have any pets of my own...yet! • I’d love to use this IG account to meet teachers from all over and to share resources for my class and kiddos! 🌼🐽🍋💖🍍🌵
We took a little break from fractions and I was a bit nervous that the kiddos would forget all that they had learned. We came back to fractions today and reviewed different ways to represent the fractions and the different parts of the fraction. I was so pleasantly surprised to see that our time away from fractions didn’t change a thing! The kids were spot on and flew through our lesson! Thanks to @create.teach.share for the fraction printables that I used along with this lesson!
One of my students brought this in for me this morning and it absolutely made my day! All of my students really enable my pig obsession 🐽 Looks like this is what I will be using to get my class’ attention from now on! Some teachers use bells, some use echo sayings, I’ve decided to use this pig! 🤷🏼♀️ Also, the class voted and his name is officially Shane 🐷
These coloring sheets from @fairwaysandchalkboards are too adorable not to get! They were a total hit during sensory breaks today! I’m not sure who was more excited about them though, me or the kiddos?! 🖍🤓
On the first day of spring we celebrated by making these giant flowers! • Have the students paint whatever kind of pattern they want on a standard poster board. Once the paint is dry, cut flower petals out and staple them around yellow paper plates. • Super fun for the kids to be creative with the paints and patterns and also a really great way to brighten up the classroom for the rest of be year! 🌼🌸☺️
