Do #botoxinjections hurt? Or are they #painfree The truth is, if there’s a needle involved, it might hurt a little because the skin is being pierced. The key to this, as with any injection, is to try to #relax - easier for some than others, I know.
Often it’s the anxiety of having a new experience which makes us ‘feel’ more pain. So! What can you do? #helpme You know what they say ‘Forewarned is forearmed’. So before any injection - Do your research, ask lots of questions, have a good chat during your consultation, get to know (and make sure you like/trust) your medical professional and ensure you know EXACTLY what will happen during the procedure. By knowing what to expect you’ll get no surprises.
We can of course feel more pain at certain times of the month (if we’re female) or if we are stressed, tired or more sensitive than usual. So look out for that too.
Botox injections really shouldn’t hurt too much, however, as mentioned above, when introducing a needle into the skin you are bound to feel something. I use the finest of #needles (tiny insulin needles) when giving Botox injections to ensure it is as comfortable as possible. I don’t use any numbing creams, it really isn’t necessary.
During your procedure you will have just a few little injections, not loads, and it is all over very quickly. Everyone is always surprised at how quickly a Botox procedure is completed!
I will always be honest with you – the first time you have Botox injections, it might sting a little, for a second, but all my clients tell me that it is virtually pain-free and some even quite enjoy it! This translates to about 6 teaspoons of added sugar per day. 🍰 The average American consumes almost quadruple that amount at around 22 teaspoons of added sugar a day. Cutting out sugar can be tricky because sugar is so ubiquitous—you’ll find it even in healthy-sounding foods like yogurt! Start checking ingredient lists and reduce your intake of processed foods. ☀️“But I can’t wear sunscreen, I need Vitamin D!” When it comes to sunscreen, there seems to be this never-ending debate where so many of my patients are left confused and think they still “need” to lay out in the sun. On the one hand, you have countless research studies demonstrating the terrible effects that 🌞 sun exposure can have on your skin. On the other, there is the argument that your body needs sun exposure to trigger the natural production of vitamin D. Yes, Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that is not commonly found in our food sources, thus, we need to obtain enough vitamin D from supplements or from sun exposure. But how much Vitamin D do we actually need? Scientists recommend adults through age 70, take 600 IU daily. Although vitamin D is not found in many of the foods that we eat, there are some dietary sources like certain fishes, and it is found in fortified juices and milks. 🐟 Salmon is a great source of vitamin D And depending on your portion size it can contain anywhere between 350 IU to 680 IU. But if you rather not consume salmon on a regular basis and want to keep your skin safe from the sun, then talk to your doctor about starting a vitamin D supplement. If you still feel the need to expose your skin to the sun to get vitamin D, know that you only need to put your bare arms and legs in the sun for 10 to 15 minutes to trigger your body’s biosynthesis of vitamin D. So know that you can still apply sunscreen to your face, neck, and chest to prevent wrinkles, brown spots, and skin cancer. ⛱
