After we were all told our first attempts at making models looked not so beautiful, Dr. Palavicini thought it'd be fun for us to cover up the ugliness by decorating them however we wanted. Little did we know the prize for being in the top 5 would include Amazon gift cards and showing your "Art Piece" in a display case at LSUSD! Congrats to our Top 5 Art Piece winners!!! #dentalschool#art#palatevicini#handskills

Hi everyone! I'm starting this instagram account to share with the world some of the behind-the-scenes stuff that goes on in dentistry along with more complex dental cases as time goes on. I thought I'd start it off with a dental classic -> the Typodont. A Typodont is essentially a fake setup of teeth that we use to practice procedures on, and to make it more realistic we mount it on "the rod" Aka Manny. There are lots of dental manikins out there and they're pretty standard to train dental students on. In the coming days I'll post some of the work I've done on my typodont in the pre-clinical lab. Thanks for following!
