First max effort day. Beltless pause squats are slow but there's no sticking point (355, 385, 405). Definitely more in the tank for next week. I'm BAD at bench, feet up for 250. Deadlift can be built without deadlifting. Hit 455 beltless from a big ass deficit without seriously pulling in probably a year. 
Modifying the program as needed. Bench I'm probably going to change to all competition style. Specificity is king unless you have a specific weakness or technical error you are addressing. Which I don't. I'm just seriously weak at pressing. Beltless pause squats are working on proprioception of depth, rate of force production, and starting tight. Big deficit beltless deadlifts make it harder to find tension in the bottom, and make the rep much longer, helping teach the sensation of grinding.

Not as clean as I would’ve liked it to be but it’s progress. If anybody ever told you it was going to be easy, they fucking lied. I crave the struggle and the pain. I’m hungry for success and my journey is only beginning!!

Exotic back exercises, and how to do 'em

Today I'll be sharing a how-to of two typical back movements that I do, but you don't often see other people doing.
•
The first is a compound, and I believe I've done it but not explained it, idk. It's a deadlift to row variation. So, this is a compound movement, and a composition of two compound movements.... Fancy 😏. Anyhow, set up as you would normally to deadlift, except use a double overhand grip, not that other crap. Explode upward as you would normally, except don't extend all the way up. Instead, pause around where you would to do a barbell row, and do just that - ROW! you'll see me pop up a little extra, and stand taller than I do on my rows, and that's okay, that's just the weight carrying you up and showing you're exploding up! That's good! You'll see me still correct myself and try to stay down though. Always remember to focus on that squeeze for them big lats.

Single arm landmine row, great variation of the single arm dumbbell row. I alternate between these and dumbbells to keep the same movement and muscles worked, but also to make slight differences. Remember my talk about consistency, you can't be switching up exercises all the time. Your body needs to adapt to grow! Back to the lift: keep a narrow but stable foot width next to a bar in a landmine hold. Grab the bar at the end, near the loaded weight, and bright straight up just like a dumbbell row, and squeeze at the top. I am not slouching, nor am I letting the weight pull me down. It looks like it, but if you actually look closely you'll see my shoulder does not slouch, only stretches. Keeping your hand on your knee stable helps with this. Just watch closely and mimic me!

Look at these. Remember this picture whenever you tell yourself “it’s only 5 lbs”. I have lost about 35 pounds. To me it wasn’t enough because I have a lot more to go. I never gave myself credit for the pounds lots. Of all the hard work I put in. Of all does 4 am and midnight workouts. Of all that meal prepping and eating healthy. With 4 kids and full time work. And being a single mom. Yes, it was hard to keep up sometimes but I kept going. So can you. What I am trying to say is take credit for your work your accomplishments. Be proud of you!!! 4 years ago, At 43 years old, post accident, post spine and shoulder surgeries, I was told I would always need a walking cane and AFO to function, and that 10lbs would be the most weight I could lift. I was also told, I would not be able to lift anything over my head, I would not squat past parallel and never be able to get on my tip toes. 
Today, at 47 years old, I am a Supertotal Athlete: I am a powerlifter, I am a weightlifter, I am a yogi.
I can definitely lift more than 10lbs,I can lift things over my head, I can squat past parallel, and I can perform triple extension (and be on my top toes).
I am not strong because I lift weights, I am strong because I lift myself up no matter how hard and no matter how many times I fall. 🏋🏽‍♀️

Today was a form check to show how ignorant I was about my form. Better to find out now right, then to find out later when I break my back 😂
But through out this cut I wont be strength training, but focusing on my form more and more, to revamp and refine it. The goal is to compete some day, but I gotta do it with proper technique to lift heavier and to stay safe 😂

Had the big three today S: 275x5x5, B:2705x5, and D:350x3x5. Still going to be working with the light stuff for the next 4 weeks but feeling good about the next 5 weeks to come! Decided I’m not going to be maxing on the squat or deadlift for awhile and aiming more towards the 3 rep PRs. No reason to risk injury in the gym again, I need to get myself on that damn platform already! Let’s go!

Twas a beautiful day💖 First, the weather was lovely. Second, my presentation and classes went well. Third, I was able to get more engaged with my Healthy Diploma fam. Lastly, I had an amazing workout and maxed out on 325 DL!! I was feeling a rush and had the guts to try it💪

Working on my DL, 95lbs. Yes my form isn't perfect but, it's a work in progress like everything  When had my belly skin it wasn't even possible for me to do these. My belly skin was constantly in the way. My form would be way off. Today I can proudly say I tried! I can say I'm not perfect but practice will make it better. 95lbs for my first time.
