Regrann from @tobilobaajayi - #CerebralPalsyAwarenessMonth#Day23
One of the first things parents say to me when explaining the reason why their child with Cerebral Palsy isn't accessing an education is 'My child cannot talk'. Anyone that knows me knows my response to that: 'A Child's ability to excel is not tied to their ability to walk or talk.
Yes, Cerebral Palsy can impair speech, but it does not have to impair communication.
With the proliferation of Alternative and Argumentative communication options, no child's options and access to an education should be limited by lack of a natural speech.
#LetCPKidsLearn , speech is not a pre-requisite.

Today my day consisted of Gardening!!! I finally got all my little baby plants started from SEEDS in the ground (*except for the strawberries, because those seeds didnt take. We cheated and bought sprouts). I burnt so many extra calories today and I think I'm High on Vitamin D! So i cheated a bit today and ate a nice BIG cold bowl of potato salad as a treat. P .s.- my husband is the best husband ever! He spent hours in the 90+ degree sun digging new flower beds. They were only about half done when I took the picture!
I’m so used to running in the rain now that it hardly phased me! 😜💦💦 Today’s mostly light rain was even refreshing. #Embracingit .
9️⃣ miles in the books! I ran on fatigued legs (late run then heavy weights last night w/ my man Sagi 🏋🏼♀️🏋🏼♀️), so it felt AWESOME to conquer these miles. It isn’t easy...but what I know is that your health, energy and vitality IS WORTH fighting for! How do YOU fight for it?
RUNNERS who want to get FASTER 👉🏼 2️⃣ things that have helped me on my comeback:
1. heart rate training and
2. Intermittent tempo runs within runs
For example, I do a mile warm up and cool down then track pace every 1/4 mile. For 1/4 mile, I am running at a pace closer to max intensity; then I switch to a “relaxing” pace for the next 1/4; then repeat. For the intense 1/4 m lap, think pumping your arms and legs and getting your heart rate closer to the 80-90% threshold - let’s call it #pumppace 👈🏼 did I just coin a term 🤣 The “recover” 1/4 m lap that follows is a tad more relaxed. I’m working to build separation between these two paces. (Goal was 9:00 min “pump pace” and 10:00 - 10:15 min “relaxed pace”).
I’m building back up my pace and this has helped! I spent most of my time at 80% of my HR threshold, with 17 mins at 90% of my HR threshold. Now to enjoy family time! Don’t forget to make the most of today! ❤️ .
The therapeutic art of the sky makes me always wonder why!
Why is it so vibrant at times?
Where do the purples and pink go or do they hide?
Where do the clouds learn to fluff?
Where do the clouds learn to rain?
Where does rainbow end?
Where is the limit of the eternal sky?? #day23
