Introducing: galangal, a key ingredient in curries, stir fries, soups and our kecap manis. It looks like a lot like ginger, in fact they're related, but there is definitely a difference in flavour. Galangal gives dishes a citrus like flavour and it smells wonderful. Though it looks shinier and softer than ginger it's not. The outside is a bit hard but the inside is a bit softer and easier to grate. Great tip: add it to your chicken soup.
