Shoutout to every single person who lied to us and told the Triund top is just around the corner and gave us the energy to walk forward 😂😂 I remember asking almost every other person who was coming downhill as to how much more we needed to walk and except one who was brutally honest and told me that I’ve started asking this question way too early in the course of the trek 😏, everybody else said we’re almost there and honestly that’s all the motivation we needed 💪
Even though it wasn’t the toughest trek, I definitely remember running out of breath a lot towards the end, but I looooved every bit of it. The start, the breathtaking views mid route and the time we spent at the top - everything. We watched the sky turn a soft pink before the billion stars showed up, right after which it started to pour cats and dogs. The weather in the hills is super unpredictable and it was crazy to experience 5-6 weather conditions in a matter of a day ⛅️☀️⚡️
🍃 Still beautiful, still mesmerising and still breathtaking ❤️

This is the last of our series: ‘The Power of Us - Livelihoods’ which featured nine profiles of different people in one Mumbai neighbourhood who were all asked the same three simple questions on leisure, expense and savings. We hope their responses have challenged your assumptions, surprised you with their honesty and reminded you that we all have more in common than we think.
This series is part of our ongoing efforts at Toast to see things differently. When we think “Livelihoods”, we want to think beyond just jobs and income. While these are critical, we believe that it’s aspirations, both current and future, that drive people and impact their well-being. Thank you all for following along! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we have!
If you would like us to feature someone in your neighbourhood, post their photo with the same three questions and tag us at #toastinc#thepowerofus_livelihoods . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ _________________________________

Biggest expense: Rent and commute, but I’m currently not paying full rent, so commute. I’m always spending fifteen minutes on how to spend the least amount of money on my commute. Uberpool? Ola Share? Kaali Peeli? Gah, let's try the train?
What does leisure mean to you: Travel and learning. I’m always learning something new, so right now I’m learning how to swim. I’m 25 and I don’t know how to swim. I’m the only adult in class, so it’s me and just like 8 eight-year-olds. But I kick those kids’ butts.
What are you saving up for: I’m saving up to go somewhere far away in the second half of the year. I've seen pretty much all of India at this point, but not much outside. I haven't set foot in Europe or Africa, which to me are more different than Vietnam—spicy food, tropical weather, crazy traffic, general lawlessness…that I've grown up with.
