There's something very positive about this color that makes you feel lively and energetic the moment you lay your eyes on it. What can one do to help alleviate stress and anxiety? If you’re an artist, keep creating art, for one. Even if you’ve never considered yourself an artist, now is the time to take up an artistic pursuit like drawing or painting. It is never too late, and everyone can do it. If you can hold a brush or crayon or marker, you can draw and paint. And it doesn’t have to be a big investment - a few acrylic paints, or a set of watercolor paints, brush, markers or crayons, and paper are all you need, along with some old magazines, a glue stick, and scissors for collage, if you'd like.
Color can be a wonderful tool for making your home less stressful and more calming — and it can have a significant impact on your mood and well-being. In Feng Shui, colors are used to bring different types of energy into the home, whether it’s passionate red, energetic yellow or restorative green. And the science is there to back up the popular notion that room
"Arabesque". This watercolor painting by French painter Auguste Herbin is a lively, playful, modern composition. Saturated with shapes, geometric and organic, this piece reads as vivid, colorful, and bold.
If you aren't already in the know, I am giving you a big taste of the new album on May 5th. It was recorded at @belllabsrecording . It's called The Monarch. The new album touches topics such as: toxic masculinity in American culture, gender identity, Syria, the entertainment industry, veterans with PTSD, racism, and political disenfranchisement. The single/music video I will be dropping, Sunset Boulevard, is about gender identity and the entertainment industry. May 5th will be its release. I will be celebrating this release at the @towertheatreokc with @jarvixschmarvix and Sebastian Skyy Webster. The video was made by power couple Jonathan Shahan and Cait Brasel, along with Mike Walsh. Sky McCullough Sr. and Billy Groshon helped out tremendously with the video. Special thanks to Bobby Griffith and Micheal Trepagnier. Extra special thanks to Matty Zoob for your cubist body art. Come out to the Theatre on Cinco de Mayo and we'll get bizarre. Also, I will be at Cafe Do Brazil tonight with Holly Moorad playing some tunes. It'll be a super relaxed evening. We'll play Bowie tunes, originals, and various other things. Plus caipirinhas. #musicvideo#newmusic#newmusicalert#cincodemayo#themonarch#kalira#kaliramusic#jarvix#skyywebster#rock#pop#indie#neosoul#funk#jazz#okc#concert#sunsetboulevard#themonarch#genderless#genderfluid#androgyny#cubism#glam Ticket link: https://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/1685332?utm_medium=bks
Happy Birthday to Joan Miro, who was born on this day.
Inspired by folk art, prehistoric cave paintings and by Surrealism, Spanish artist Joan Miró created images that are seldom easy to identify. In "Woman, Bird and Star in Front of Moon" (1944), individual figures and forms seems to morph as easily as their lines entwine. Still, the calligraphic shapes Miró painted upon the raw canvas suggest movement and a balance among earthly and heavenly forms.
Although the artist preferred to maintain a certain mystery about his images, he rejected abstract art. In 1947, Miró stated: "For me a form is never something abstract; it is always a sign of something."
