Happy Saturday, world! The sun was out early and so were the birds. Spring has finally arrived in the Toronto area! 🤗 Now that some miles are done I’m off to Hamilton with family for a schnitzel feast! Our favourite schnitzelhaus @blackforestinn_ was featured on @foodnetworkca @yougottaeathere by @johncatucci 👍 We had our wedding rehearsal dinner there eight years ago. My wife’s family has been going there for decades. She was definitely worth waiting for! 😍
🧖♀️🛀🏻 let’s talk Epsom salts! 👇
My little miracle in a jar 😍
Adding Epsom salts into my bath has made a massive difference. I find myself having an Epsom salt bath when I’m not feeling well and it always makes me feel better! Not only does it help to relieve my abdominal pain from having Crohn’s but it has lots of other benefits too! 💜
Benefits of Epsom salt baths ☺️ Most importantly for myself it helps to reduce pain, muscle cramps and inflammation due to the magnesium.
Relieves migraine, cold and flu symptoms.
Drawing impurities and toxins out of the skin.
Stress relief and relaxation.
Softens and exfoliates skin. —
Giving yourself time to relax and unwind is always important. Why not treat yourself to some deserved "me time" with a nice relaxing Epsom salt bath. You can find Epsom salts in most if not all supermarkets! 🛀🏻💕🧖♀️
Follow for daily uploads! 💜
My go to SPF 50 🔆
@baremineralsuk PREP STEP 😍
If like me you are on Azathioprine be sure to wear a high SPF in the sun as you are at a higher risk of getting some forms of skin cancer on this medication 😘 .
Enjoy the 😎 while it lasts !
Whatever condition we are in, we must always do what we want to do, and if we want to go on a journey, then we must do so and not worry about our condition, even if it's the worst possible condition, because, if it is, we're finished anyway, whether we go on the journey or not, and it's better to die having made the journey we're been longing for than to be stifled by our longing.
I recently saw a post @sara_ringer that addressed a sickening trend of hydration bars. Needing IV fluids isn't trendy....it's not for undoing lasts nights bar hopping adventures.(drink some freaking water) There are patients like myself and countless others that rely on these tools to keep our bodies going! Especially with the nationwide shortage due to last summers hurricanes.....These bars are disgusting and taking away from patients that actual need hydration these companies should be ashamed of themselves! #spoonie#hydration#ibd#chronicillness#crohnswarrior#crohnsmommy#reality#crohns#port
4:20 - Sweet! // I know I said I wasn't going to post about my gut issues but this is a good reason. // I use CBD oil to treat my Crohns, joint pains and anxiety. I ingest it because it lasts longer and it won't harm my lungs. // I need some with a little THC as it helps with my appetite. I've had two regular sized meals in 3 days, eventually that's going to catch up with me. This helps, a lot. // I am so grateful that this medicine is available to help, especially when I've reached the end of what is available for me through traditional Western medicine. @island_extracts_cannabis .
Being able to go outside today and enjoy all the flowers I planted recently was a blessing! ...
I went on vacation a few weeks ago and my sister got married last weekend. I definitely have not been very careful about what I’ve been eating. Although I thought I was being careful about how much alcohol I had, I think I celebrated a little too much. A combination of not eating the best and more alcohol than my system is used to has made for a tougher week than normal for me. I feel very fortunate to share that my poor choices did not cause me to flare, but I feel like I was too close to a flare for comfort. Increased trips to the bathroom, feeling extremely sluggish, and an upset stomach plagued most of my week. I have been flare free for close to two years and it made me want to cry just thinking about how I close I was to flaring. ...
I definitely had fun these past few weeks, but it’s time to get back on track. It’s time to focus on my health again, and stop losing time to not feeling well due to poor choices.
I almost forgot! Happy 420, especially to this rockin babe! So proud of @libbycooper for the moves she’s making in cannabis design and destigmatization. While I didn’t have a San Francisco worthy 4/20 celebration today, I did pop a couple 3:1 CBD:THC capsules this morning as they work wonders for my gut. Weed can be healing, it can be relaxing, or it can be just plain old fun. No war on drugs needed. ✌🏼
We need to know where we are headed, to know what we should be doing daily, to get where we want to be! We want to find your WHY! This why will keep you going when you have zero motivation or energy left to keep going --- it WILL happen. You will want to quit...because change is HARD, but having a deep why connected to your goals is what will fuel you to kick butt and make zero excuses!
As a coach, who’s only been doing this for a short while, I realize I’ve been a coach since the day I got sober 14.5 years ago. I’ve taken women through the 12 steps and shared my story where and when ever I can to pay it forward. I find that the people who “give up” on themselves, are those who didn’t have a strong enough WHY before they started something like a wellness journey.
Wanting to "look good" is only a tiny bit of motivational fuel to get you going...but FEELING confident and comfortable naked with your spouse or significant other, now that has more meaning behind it, doesn't it? (totally just an example… 😉)
So find your why! My why is to never be suicidal and hide my true self EVER again and to empower other women to regain control of their lives when they feel they are out of control.

Several of you have been asking about my Crohn's and how I've been feeling 🙏🏻
Back story.. after last years Coach vacation in Punta Cana I made the decision to really figure out what's wrong with me. That trip wasn't near as enjoyable from the constant (you know...😆).
I ended up in the ER shortly after with a bad flare up, almost a year ago today!
Turns out since my early teens I've had Crohn's disease. The entire left side of my colon is lined with ulcers and several parts of my digestive tract.
Since I've been on humira my life has drastically changed. (This sounds like an Ad 😂)
Even with all the traveling the last four weeks, enjoying a few more cocktails than usual, and eating a little less strict I've been feeling surprisingly well!
I was even able to get my medication shipped to the Keys!
I've been focusing on mental and emotional wellness a lot to keep my stress levels and anxiety down during all the change which obviously helps my digestion too 👌🏻
I often get asked, how are you fit and healthy with Crohn's?
Taking note what I eat when I flare & not eating that again (#duh )
Mental & emotional wellness
Medication and vitamins
My Superfoods smoothie
Thanks for the love my fellow Crohn's babes ✌🏼
Since I’ve gotten so many new insta followers, I thought I’d share a little bit about myself! 🤗
1- I grew up in Chicago but last May moved to California, so now I’m in the Bay Area
2- I have a black lab and 2 kittens🐶🐱
3- I have crohns and have had either crohns or UC for about 15 years, so majority of my life
4- my favorite food is sushi🍱
5- I’ve been to over 5 countries: Spain, Italy, India, France, Singapore, Croatia, Germany, and love to travel! ✈️ Share something about you below, let’s be friends!😌🍾
I’ve decided to share my journey with my new frenemy Crohn’s. I’ve just posted my first blog post about my diagnosis. I’ve found so much comfort reading about other people’s experiences and if sharing mine helps someone else then it’s worth it. I used to be embarrassed about a lot of the symptoms but Crohn’s is here to stay so I’m going to laugh about them as much as possible and not let it beat me! 💜 #crohnsdisease#invisibleillness#IBD
Last Christmas I got this card from an anonymous supporter. Last week I decided what I wanted. Today, my stompbox arrived 😍😍😍 I cannot WAIT to get this percussive little game-changer worked into my solo show!!!
Thanks from the bottom of my heart to whoever made this happen. If you see this, know that you DEFINITELY helped, and this gift is going to keep on giving through my musical career. All my ❤ to you.
Stay tuned for vids cause it's my day off and I have a new friend...
I will always hold true to who I am no matter what. That’s one reason I have been talking about some deep topics on IG recently. To share the hardship I have had to go through and hopefully help others through what I have learned. Lately, I feel like I’ve been going through a pruning with the relationships I have in my life. Pruning of what wasn’t meant to be. It’s been painful but very enlightening. Too many times those I consider close to me have completely broken me.
Most of the time for dumb reasons when you think about it in the grand scheme of things. Sometimes it’s because the going gets rough, or when you speak your mind about something you feel is wrong and they don’t agree, when you have made a decision but they don’t try to see your perspective they’re just being black and white on the issue, or when they let others get in the way of your friendship and believe defamatory rumors that were spread about you. When their response is with attacks or they disown you instead of amending the friendship that’s when you know they weren’t meant for you. They were a life lesson. They didn’t care enough about you to make amends. They were a place in time. They were there just to make you stronger. They helped you build a stronger foundation for who you are as a person.
Through this pruning I have lost some but have strengthened with others. Sometimes these experiences show you who’s your ride or dies. The ones who will be there through thick and thin. When people close to us hurt us we can’t close up. That’s usually my first response and I refuse to do that anymore. We have to become more intuitive and not repeat the same mistakes in relationships. Look for those with kind hearts. Sometimes it’s not a reflection of you but of them. Be thankful you saw their true colors. Let this lesson make yours brighter.
Today has been a day filled with fun and laughter in the sun with my little people ☀️💙💕 We have been to the park, we have run barefoot through the grass, we have walked along the stream exploring, we have played catch, we have made homemade pizza and chips together, we have read stories and had lots of cuddles, we have laughed until our bellies hurt, and most importantly we have created beautiful memories 💜 (Daddy was the only thing missing)
Days out do not have to cost a penny.
I am now planning my next venture. My personal training qualification is well under way and I am loving learning again, and enjoying the buzz I get from helping other people. I am still undecided on where to specialise once I'm qualified. So I'm asking my Facebook friends and family, what do you look for in a personal trainer? What gaps do you feel there are in the health and fitness world? All feedback is gratefully appreciated 🙏🏻 I hope you're all having fun in the sun ☀️ Love and hugs 💜💜💜
