Yesterday was a tough afternoon, todays a better day. So proud of the two pups in the background 😂 3 months ago their ability to walk together was questionable at best. Both highly reactive and young... our walks go to 💩 fast. Bikers. Runners. Men. Other dogs. Grasshoppers. Horse poo. Goose poo. Sticks. Sudden noises. Children. Scooters. Roller bladers. Strollers. Today they completed a mile on city sidewalks without extreme reactions or trying to start games with one another!!! 😒😥 one acute reaction to bikers approaching straight on with little to no room for passing. I was otherwise able to hold both doggos attention and maintain control through all other stimuli 😎 #mightbecomedecentyet#gooddogs#learning#everyday#consistencyiskey#instadogs#dogwalkinglife#crohnslife

I got this keyring, it has purple for the Crohn’s, symbol of hope, a spoon for the spoonie and a mantra - be stronger than the storm 💜
In my car I always have my Urgent Can’t Wait card, my Blue Badge and lots of water. I get looks sometimes for using the blue badge, like I shouldn’t have it - I need an invisible disability sign! Between the AS and the Crohn’s I am very grateful to have it, so I’ll take the dirty looks...
🍳 Eggs anyone? — Read below 👇
I have found one perfect quick and easy brekkie that doesn’t hurt my stomach!
Fried, poached or scrambled egg on white toast with salmon on top! —
IBD tip: try using butter instead of oil for frying, I find that greasy food caused by the cooking oil hurts my stomach.
IBD tip: try using white bread instead of brown bread if you are having loose bowel movements. (Low fibre diet) —
A low fibre diet will give your inflamed intestines time to heal and you might even feel your symptoms such as wind pain, bloating, abdominal pain/cramps and diarrhoea may become more manageable. For me I still get the wind pain and abdominal cramps 🙃 but the rest of my symptoms have gone away for now! I find that my diet is a lot about trial and error, if something hurts my stomach I know not to eat that food product any more. I find it helps to keep a food diary. —
Finding food that won’t upset your stomach can be challenging when you have IBD. Being on a low fibre diet helped my bowel movements settle and get back to normal slowly. Low fibre diet (eating unhealthy food) think white everything: white pasta, white rice, white bread. These foods are all good if you want to try and ease the tummy cramps and give yourself time to let your bowel heal. —
Foods to avoid ❌

You can eat ✅
Strained soups, clear soups

Smooth jam, honey, peanut butter (no seeds or nuts)

Vegetables that are peeled and well cooked:
Just got my blood results back from the GP and my blood count is low (as they always are) so I’ve been told to eat a high protein diet! So green veg, red meat, eggs etc.
Anyone have any high protein recipes or food ideas that I can try out?

“An arrow can only be released by first pulling it back. When life pulls you back, it simply means you’re launching into something amazing.”
I have had bumps in the road in my life, but nothing has compared to Crohn’s. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease after a 5 night stay in the hospital about 4 and a half years ago. I was young, I was in college, and I was in a newish relationship. None of these things mixed well with the horrible side effects of Crohn’s. Walking class to class, or even sitting through an entire lecture seemed impossible during my flare. I didn’t want to explain all the gross things that were happening to me to my boyfriend. Crohn’s pulled me back. Life was pulling me back. ...
I’m not here to say Crohn’s changed my life for the better because it definitely did not. However, Crohn’s opened my eyes to some really amazing things that life launched me into. I was able to take a lot of classes for my degree online. I graduated and now have the career of my dreams. And, that boyfriend who I didn’t want to have to explain all the gross things to became my husband two and a half years later. ...
Crohn’s has caused a lot of pain and discomfort in my life. In that sense it pulled me back, but it launched me into some truly amazing things. Things I wouldn’t trade the world 🌎 for. ...
I got a tattoo of an arrow on my back to remind myself that sometimes life pulls you back, but only to launch you into something great! Stay strong and keep your eyes open to the amazing things life is launching you into!
Happy hump day! Today has been a good day. One of those days when you truly realize how blessed you are. I live a simple life. I enjoy my job, I love my wife and baby boy, and I’m blessed to have good health. I feel content with my life and I feel I have achieved what others struggle to achieve for years and years. Don’t go chasing money, nicer cars, big mansions, relationships, acceptance etc. Learn to love what you have and find the things/people in life that make your heart feel truly content 🤙🏻
Just higher goals and higher vibrations✨. My hubby always says, if you don’t bring value to my life, then ✌️ I used to always think he was savage, but I am just now understanding the value of his words. 💜
Actually made myself lunch today. I’m usually too tired or busy to make myself something so I’ll have leftovers or a smoothie or a food bar.
Wasn’t feeling any of that and had lots of veggies to get rid of so a 🥗 it is.
Uncured sugar free bacon 🥓 spring mix 🍃cucumber 🥒avocado 🥑broccoli 🥦 chopped dried apricots 🧡 and my dressing is the juice of 1/2 an orange 🍊bc I’m obsessed w squeezing my own orange juice rn and some EVOO.
Also I am keeping the oranges in a bowl rather than the fruit stand bc it’s better for the feng shui of the home according to RHOC and it makes a nice centerpiece to match my napkins.
I’m actually starting to tolerate raw veg! This is a big deal...They use to make me have the WORST stomach pains but now I can have raw veggies a couple of times a week & not have too many issues! 🤩
Did anyone catch Dynamo on BBC breakfast this morning sharing his experience of Crohn’s disease? It’s great that someone with a huge global presence is speaking about their experience and raising awareness of IBD!! Imagine not only dealing with the diagnosis and symptoms of a chronic illness but also having to share it with the world, incredibly brave!! 💪🏻💜 @dynamomagician #crohnsdisease#strength#bbc#dynamo#magic

Raising awareness for IBD one step at a time! —
Today is #colonoscopy prep day. Haven’t had one done in years so I am overdue. I used to have to drink the whole gallon 🤢 but I am grateful my doctor hooked me up with this prep. I’ve never used it. Is it better than the gallon? I also had 2 croquetas this morning 🤤 because I’m cuban and can’t not have croquetas lol I know I will be clean by tomorrow morning because I constantly go to the bathroom multiple times a day a. Send prayers my way friends ❤️
