It's been 3 months since surgery. I've lost 24 lbs so far and have begun to change my eating habits. I've also cut back on drinking alcohol too. Finally on the right track to getting permanent medication under control and regular doctor visits set. I also plan to get on a workout routine once I'm completely healed. I feel good about life from here on out! Recovery has been a struggle but I've had such amazing support from the awesome people in my life that it makes it all easier. I won't let this bring me down. Better days are ahead! 🙌 #crohnsdisease#crohnscrusher#crohnscolitisawareness
‘With my skin tan & my hair long & my fans who been so patient, me & @TZOEnt back to work but we still smell like a vacation.’
❗️For myself, tracking macros at maintenance/lean bulking was not the best for me.❗️
🍪I began to notice that I’d actually fit “cheat” meals or unhealthy foods into diet if I could when tracking.🍫
🍣Now, I *eat intuitively* mainly very “clean foods” from @TerritoryFoods with a cheat meal once a week.🍎
💯I do believe that tracking macros/protein for beginners can be VERY BENEFICIAL as many just don’t get enough💯
✅Note this is just my own personal experience, maybe this means I PERSONALLY don’t have the best relationship with food- but now I eat a lot “healthier” overall.✅
Also- just because I no longer work in the supplement industry, does not mean that I’m no longer here for help! .
Any questions about supps, sports nutrition or anything else; shoot them my way!
Not recovering well?
Keep It Simple.
St Patty’s Deadlifts today...mediocre at best @VIDAFitnessDC.
Working sets were 405lbs x 6, 500lbs x 2, 500lbs x 3 (shown), 500lbs x 2, (shown) and 405lbs x 6 x 2, all RPE 7 on an extremely stiff bar.
Wanted 500lbs x 5 for a PR but grip gave out because I’m a punk.
Next week though! Strength is coming back!💪🏼
YES my gym has LED lighting...YES it’s cooler than yours, and YES it ACTUALLY MAKES YOU WANT TO WORK OUT!
Happy St. Patty’s!
*That face that you make when you are trying to figure out how much size you actually lost*🤔
1st Time Training in over a week & a half, & the first time feeling like myself in a little while!
Had some days with a high fever, & lost around 5lbs.
Truth be told it’s not always easy living with a #ChronicIllness .
The constant fatigue, dips in mood, strength, immune health, & sickness.
But GUESS WHAT?!
I WOULDN’T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY!
“Do NOT PRAY for EASIER LIVES, PRAY to be STRONGER MEN.”
EVEN WHEN I’M OFF...

Life- “You can’t do that, it’s not possible...”
⁉️What does FITNESS truly mean⁉️
THINK “#Fitness ” MEANS being #SHREDDED for SOCIAL MEDIA year round❔(BTW most of the people that you think are...aren’t)
💪🏼“FIT” people CAN MOVE...CAN BREATHE..ARE FLEXIBLE...ARE STRONG...CAN GO FOR A RUN...CAN TOUCH THEIR DAMN HAND to THEIR BACK...MAINTAIN a HEALTHY BODYWEIGHT & have LOW LEVELS of VISCERAL FAT!🆗
✅By ALL MEANS I want to LOOK GOOD, but I ALSO WANT to FEEL GOOD & LIVE LIFE!✅
This is just my opinion, but I’ve been at this for a while now...
Have balance, & be truly “fit.”
Just eating & “training to maintain” currently, & focusing more on my career/personal & professional development. #PrioritiesFirst !
HOW MUCH do you HAVE TO TRAIN to MAINTAIN⁉️
*IN MY EXPERIENCE* Not TOO, too MUCH.
In my opinion, ONCE you’ve BUILT the MUSCLE it doesn’t take too much to KEEP *MOST* OF IT.
⚠️STRENGTH HOWEVER is a WHOLE DIFFERENT BALLGAME⚠️
BACK OFF ON SQUATS & DEADLIFTS?
You’re SURELY GOING TO GET WEAKER 🚫💪🏼
(Learned this the hard way )🙎🏼♂️🙍🏼♂️
DIET HOWEVER is CRUCIAL!🔑🍽
KEEP THAT PROTEIN UP!
Crohn's symptoms include abdominal cramps and pain, bloating, and diarrhea. The condition is characterized by periods of remission and flare-ups. In additional to Crohn's-related symptoms, living with the disease may cause feelings of helplessness, isolation, and possibly lead to depression.
Are you or someone you know, suffering from depression related symptoms?
Just know that you're not alone. There's is a vast community willing to reach out and help. Everything you're going thru, someone else either has gone thru or is in the midst of.
If you need help in any way, reach out.
Do it anyway... 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 #crohnscolitis#crohnie#crohns#depression#anxiety#crohnscrusher#idb#fvckcrohns#doitanyway#community#remission#flareup
💥495lbs x 8 touch & go #PR on Conventional Deadlifts.💥
Could have had 9 but I messed up my rhythm for breathing instead of just going for it.🤦🏼♂️
I can't breathe at all anyways right now because I probably have another sinus infection that requires antibiotics, an inhaler (still have that one) & cortico-steroids but I don't feel like going to the Dr. & taking more drugs so I'll just let it pass. .🚫💊💉
💯BTW I do work out at @VIDAFitnessDC too it's just my day off & I felt like breaking the floor at Golds Gym for old times sake (serious)💯
It's #GainzSeason .
The face I make when people tell me they hate Mondays...😒
You BETTER CHANGE THAT! FOR YOUR LIFE & FOR YOUR HEALTH!
Each morning I start my day off with some kind of positive/motivational audio/speech as I get ready for my day.
Literally the FIRST THING I do when I WAKE is go to YouTube & look one up from one of my favorite speakers.
"The brain produces electrical patterns, often referred to as waves. Scientists have found a CORRELATION between the FREQUENCY of BRAIN WAVES & the BODY'S STATE. When you first wake, your brain operates at around 10.5 waves per second. The range from eight to 13 Hz, or cycles per second, is the alpha stage. It's been called the GATEWAY to the SUBCONSCIOUS MIND."🌞
It's hard to have a bad day (even a Monday) when you start your day off on the right foot! Try it out! This has been my routine for the past 2 months or so.
More fitness related posts are coming soon- feeling a bit under the weather so training isn't very exciting.
#ILoveMondays#PurposeDriven#PassionDriven#IDontWorkForMacaroniGrill (the shirt) haha.
What are ya gonna do about it Wednesday!
I’m going to rise and shine and give GLORY to this body I live in. My home, my shell, my one and only body. It may not run 100% and have a battle going on with itself but I still love it, for all it’s lessons, and challenges. Grateful for every choice I have from the lessons over the years... and for all the years I abused it... well the past is the past and the now is the only time that matters. And holy hell this amazing body just crushed a killer cardio session! It’s you and me body. We are one. Day 3 is done! Now to shower off the pool of sweat I worked up! •
If @vidafitnessdc's cycle studio can make me look like I lifted once, imagine what it can do you for you!
💥I'M TRAINING LESS?💥
➡️Well not actually training less- but training CERTAIN MUSCLE GROUPS LESS OFTEN!⬅️
💯Haven't trained ARMS HARD in about 1 1/2 months (So now only every other day is arm day)💯
SOMETIMES, WEAK POINTS SIMPLY WON'T GROW, UNLESS you GIVE THEM A CHANCE to CATCH UP!
One of VIDA's Master Trainers gave me some info I've been applying to make new #GAINZ !

Nothing informative today...Just bad form on T-Bar Rows, impromptu Back Workouts fueled by Antibiotics, Inhalers, Cortico-Steroids (not the kind you're thinking), a bad Sinus Infection, Miley Cyrus, & @SammyC2980.
Welcome to the life of Paul Leiby, a #TypicalSunday Experience. Lol. Back to work tomorrow!
145lbs at age 20, 2014, vs 180lbs at age 22, 2016.
Dec. 1st - 7th is Crohn's & Colitis Awareness Week; NOT to be confused with IBS. .
When I was 20 years old, I fell ill. I developed symptoms of a stomach virus, that quickly progressed into a myriad of symptoms. I began losing a tremendous amount of weight, (around 40lbs) developed 2 very large infections in my lower intestines, had ulcerations on my esophagus, ulcerations in my colon, and for about 4 months could barely eat, drink, or walk.
Crohn's disease is not just a "stomach problem." It effects the entire body from head to toe (it can effect mood, energy, focus etc.) and is an inflammatory disease that can be triggered by ANYTHING.
Crohn's is a lifelong illness (although science is advancing) that can even lead to death if uncontrolled. I am currently mostly symptom free thanks to a biologic immunosuppressive drug called #Remicade , that I may be on for life.
SO the NEXT TIME you SEE SOMEONE on the street, GIVE THEM a SMILE, because they may be 1 of the 1.6 Million Americans fighting an invisible battle, that you can't see, touch, or likely understand.
It's the most wonderful time of the year!
I am grateful. Everyday I wake I am extremely grateful, thankful and fortunate to live the life that I live, and I truly believe it. When you TRULY believe this, it doesn't matter what life throws at you. I'm especially grateful for my friends and family that are helping me achieve my goals and dreams. We could all always be doing worse. 📸@SammyC2980.
Hello world, this is my ugly - "Damn my Delt's need more pop face."
💥2 A DAY WORKOUT RECOVERY!💥
✅Tips that work FOR ME (I am not a dietician.)✅
1️⃣FAST DIGESTING CARBS POST/INTRA WORKOUT. IMO, the FASTER we can get GLYCOGEN back in the MUSCLE, the FASTER we will FEEL BETTER & kind of "rehydrate" the muscle in a sense.
2️⃣FAST DIGESTING PROTEIN POST. Hydrolyzed WHEY ISOLATE, or something similar + BCAA's - get those AMINO'S into muscle quickly, FIGHTING MUSCLE DAMAGE & BREAKDOWN.
3️⃣SUPPLEMENTS - ASHWAGANDA to LOWER CORTISOL, ELECTROLYTES, & CAFFEINE all work FOR ME.
💯FEELING GREAT taking these STEPS!💯
After all, if you don't feel good about what you are doing...WHY DO IT?
