• The House (2017) •
A married couple are forced to figure out a way make some serious money after their daughter's college scholarship falls through. When all else fails, the desperate couple join forces with their gambling-addicted neighbour to start an underground casino in his home.
I find most Will Farrell’s post 2010 comedies rather hit or miss. Although most critics won’t agree this one was a hit in my opinion. This movie had me laughing the whole way through. The House is just a fun, lighthearted, silly comedy. Great one to watch with your partner or some friends.

There are so many things i could say about this beautiful film. But i cant fit it all into post! So i'll try to keep it short!
This incredible film depicts the true lfie story of a young man who is a free spirit and gives up everything to be the free spirit that he is.
In this film we have incredible cinematography, fantastic character development and brilliant performances from across the cast.
What really makes this film almost perfect is the soundtrack. Written and performed by eddie vedder. My personal favourite is guaranteed. This film will make you laugh and it will make you cry and inspire you to achieve and go and explore the incredible adventure that is our lives! If you havent seen this movie make it you priority!
21/04 Blu-Ray Watches Part 1: Why not start today with a documentary:
- Williams uses Formula 1 to convey an aspiring family story. As an avid fan of the sport and typically enthralled by documentaries, this review might have some slight bias. I must profess that you do not have to be a petrol-head to enjoy this, it is incredibly accessible to everyone. Having said that...wow! This actually might just be the first time I teared up to a documentary. Chronicling the life of Sir Frank Williams, founder of the Williams construction team for Formula 1, journeying through both the sport and his family affairs. Initially, I underestimated what I was in store for. A typical sporting documentary this is not. Matthews carefully portrayed Williams' personal backstory and intertwined it with his addiction and aspiration to the motor world in what is a perfect equilibrium. The two sides bounce off of each other where any incidents or scenarios in either life affect the other, as if Williams' story is its own ecological structure. Mesmerisingly breathtaking and incredibly moving, honestly. One man's ambition has lead him to create one of the sport's best engineering teams, and this film illustrates just how much of an impact he has made. "The accident" that occurred is intricately embedded to showcase his unstoppable personality. It didn't deter him away, he came back more focussed than ever and I really admire the way this film captures that. It's never melodramatic, it's an honest frank (pardon the pun...) look into a broken family. It doesn't stop there, it dabbles into the lack of female empowerment within the sport and how his daughter is a leading figure, not just in the team, but the entirety of F1 racing. There is a touching moment towards the end where his daughter reads a book to him about her mother, and for a moment I was stunned. The ferocious amount of emotion that was conveyed overwhelmed me. The tangible heartache for this family is astronomical. I would've like to have seen more of the racing and it could've been cut shorter for a much tighter narrative. However, the pace speeds along to an emotionally complex finish line with grace.
Williams = 8/10

#art#arte#artecontemporáneo#contemporaryart#rothko#markrothko#color#colourfields#camposdecolor#critic#artwriter#critica#collection

It's so funny to me that the #theories actually proved by #maths or lets just say partially proved are still wrong but the #existance of #god is real just cuz something can't be explained right now. Just like we used to explain the earthquake or floods. To me #god is more like a dumping place. We dump everything we can't explain or far more complex for us right now, on it. This theory itself is pretty self clashing. Like in a part it says that "god exist everywhere" but on same time it says god won't exist in #
#hell as it's an impure and corrupt place. Even earth is not pure and far more corrupt then hell. So, by that #logic no god on earth too and if they say god #love us cuz he created us then maybe hell either existed before time just like god or god created it too. And if it did existed before time then it should be pure as assumed for god or god miggt also be corrupted and impure.
These are just my views. Would love to know yours. Shoot down in comments!
The ultimate comic battle between Marvel and DC is getting bigger: High budget movies, Superhero Assembles, multiple movies in one year. Before Marvel’s Big “Infinity War” event, let’s take a look at some positive and negative points each studio has:
- Strong movies even if the characters were weak in the comics
- Organized Franchise (same cast, planned story....)
- Comedy (taking things in a funny way, changing the way a comic film is portrayed)
- Weak Villains (Loki may be the strongest, credits to Tom Hiddleston)
- The number of movies made for each Avenger is enough, new characters should be introduced
- Strong characters especially villains - A Variety of famous characters loved by the audience - Wonder woman was a strong movie
- Weak and unplanned Movies especially the DCEU
- Dark movies: It feels like they’re taking things too seriously - Not using the right characters for standalone films
Are you #TeamMarvel or #TeamDC ?
• The Maze Runner (2014) •
A young man is deposited in a community of boys with no memory of life before. He soon learns that they are all trapped in a maze that will require him to go against the rules and enter the maze for a shot at escaping.
The Maze Running is an interesting concept, it follows the same formula as other Young Adult books turn movies: The Hunger Games & Divergent. Which are both also great series’.
The film serves well as a lead up to the future events to come in its follow ups. Looking forward to watching the rest of the series.

Further down the road to #AvengersInfinityWar , we approach ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’. The film attempts to build upon the scale of ‘The Avengers (2012)’ but sacrifices captivating storytelling and progressive character development whilst maintaining a good amount of entertainment for the audience.
Phase 2 of the MCU felt as if each film hit the same formulaic beat of what has worked for something and ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ slots right in that category hitting nearly every tone of ‘The Avengers (2012)’. The first problem that struck this movie is how contradictory it is toward its marketing campaign as we shown a tonally serious film with a menacing villain and huge stakes. Instead, we are given a story that falls flat and feels passionless by writer/director Joss Whedon. The humor doesn’t work in this films as it lessens the intensity or emotional blow of certain sequences, most of the jokes felt forced and don’t come across as funny. The villain had an overwhelming amount of potential as an advanced A.I but is extremely underdeveloped as his motivations and plan are barely explained. The marketing really promoted him as a serious and threatening villain but he is constantly stupid one-liners that make it difficult to take him seriously. Thrown in amongst the story is an awkward romantic relationship that came out of nowhere but it does allow Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo to have some good moments in their performance. Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson give a good performance as they take on Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. The rest of the cast do a fine job in their roles without any real standout throughout the film.
On the visual scale this film shines in true spectacle and action sequences, the budget is really put to use as the visual effects are near-flawless. Overall colour grading is lacking as not much colour is not relevant amongst the greyness scattered thoroughly throughout it. The iconic Avengers them is very much felt in this film by Danny Elfman and Brian Tyler but doesn’t excel anything beyond that especially in comparison to Alan Silvestri's work in ‘The Avengers (2012)’.

Movie for today: The Titan - a Netflix original. 👽
Overall, I'd give it a 3/5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐ I like the fast pace the first half of the movie. You kinda just jump into it knowing the purpose of the program and the plot. I also liked seeing the evolution of the person from a human to a "homo-titan" and the side effects that came with the program. ⠀
However, I didn't like how the movie shifted the main characters perspectives... it started with the main character, Rick, and moved to his wife, Abi, by the end of the movie. 🤔 There were also random parts in there, too (Did they end up killing the main scientists? Why did the female titan kill her husband? Why did she take over the program?) So many questions. 🤷
I'm a little disappointed, seeing that it started off so good, but ended so randomly. Almost like they didn't put enough thought into it. 🤦
Again, overall 3/5. I wouldn't recommend it, but if you enjoy watching people endure harsh experimentation, going bald and are into Sci-Fi, then this is for you! That's the thing about Sci-Fi movies though... It's always a gamble! 😋
Lmk what you thought about this movie. I'm not a professional, but these were just some of my thoughts! Again, open discussion and be nice 🦄! ⠀⠀

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I struggle with comedies. They have just become so gross and out for the shock to get a laugh. Amy Schumer has been known to be this way in my opinion. Which is why I would normally avoid seeing a movie of hers. However this one was pg-13 so I had a glimmer of hope that it would possibly stay away from all that. And it did. The theater was full of girls night chatting it up right until it began. Everyone was genuinely laughing. True, the target audience is women and their insecurities. But there was some content in there for guys too and we were laughing as well. The script is what we’ve seen a hundred times with movies like freaky Friday or big. It has flaws but who cares when It snaps you out of a bad mood. Michelle Williams was a funny surprise. Could be trimmed a bit. But I’m almost certain all u ladies will connect with this and totally love it. Everyone clapped when it was over. Feel empowered and know that looks don’t define you. Comment if you see it. #ifeelpretty#amyschumer#comedy#movie#moviereview#moviebuff#moviecritic#critic#movierating#rating#review#michellewilliams#theater#girlsnight#funny

Where to Watch: Netflix
Thanks to The Greatest Showman, my interest has been piqued when it comes to the hot piece of ass that is Zac Efron. So when I saw this on #netflix I decided to give it a shot.
This movie is so wholesome, and sugary sweet that I needed a root canal after watching it. It attempts to be an emotional film, but I just wasn't feeling that. The concept was silly - and it made no sense. Especially at the point where he "dates" the girl. I guess if you are the religious type, this movie might have struck an emotional chord. But for me, it came across as depressing and melodramatic.
I had no expectations, so I didn't hate the film - but I definitely would never watch this ever again. And I won't recommend it either unless you just want to look at Zac Efron for almost 2 hours. Which isn't the worst way to pass the time.
Ready or not, here are our thoughts on #ReadyPlayerOne ! Does it hold a candle up to the book?! Does Spielberg still got it?! Do you always ask this many questions?! Listen in and find out. We’re on iTunes!
Recap of an absolutely awesome day in Fort Erie... The Raptors are getting smashed,😔 so every time I'm sad I try to remember the positive things in my life 😅 🏡 🐴 🌟
Summary of the day:
Houses. Horses. Hypeness.
I honestly thought that my presentation wasn't that good today... The place I presented was awesome... But the tech was too new, we couldn't get the sound working, the slides went dark twice, they were frantically trying to get it fixed while I was presenting which was pretty distracting.... And I felt like my flow was off... So when a #student made these amazing comments, it reminded me that I'm my worst #critic , and when I'm in my #element , I can help others no matter the circumstances!
After the presentation, I got a quick tour of Father Rey's place in Fort Erie! I think the house is 180+ acres of land, with a Barn, and horses on it! Also, the view of the lake is sooooo 😍
Can't wait to go back! All in all, it was a great day!

#regram “We need to see female characters be powerful and beautiful in ways that don’t rely on outdated representations of women” @lolakirke - we should challenge criticism even if it comes from the New Yorker; especially, when it’s sexist.
Continuing our road to #AvengersInfinityWar we come faced with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. Roaring with explosive action, wicked character chemistry, and a killer soundtrack that brings it all together; ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ stands solidly as one of if not the best that the MCU has to offer in terms of sheer entertainment value.
The characters and their chemistry together is ultimately where this films core strength resides, with a nice balance between anti-heroes and a rag-tag group of criminals simply trying to make a buck, we are confronted with tightly paced action comedy with all the bells and whistles that left audiences pleasantly surprised at just how well it worked. Guardian’s works primarily works at balancing its comedy and emotion in a few ways, there are however some moments in its comedy that become questionable as to whether it went one step too far, luckily the film often makes up for this by developing some raw emotions or distracting us elsewhere. This film is in essence a group of characters that are all loners and how they come together to make something better of themselves, and while the villain may not fill the void that an antagonist should in any super-hero film, the Guardians themselves do.
Chris Pratt plays the goofy space ravager named Star Lord; Pratt kills it in this role, with his improvisational humour and consistent personable characteristics it makes most scenes with him fun to watch despite what they are about. We get Bradley Cooper as Rocket Racoon, his husky and temperamental attitude works brilliantly with Dave Bautista as Drax; his dim and often ignorant attitude makes for some unexpected comedy in places you couldn’t have imagined. Then we have Zoe Saldana as Gamora, while she’s less compelling and slightly more serious as a character she still worked as a great addition to the team.
Visually this film stands right at the top and not just in CGI quality but in almost every facet, from some neat camera-work to the exceptional makeup and hairstyling that built up these unique characters.

#ViernesdeCrítica : The Death of Stalin⠀

The Road to Infinity War:
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (2014, dir. James Gunn)
With this and ‘Winter Soldier’, 2014 was a fantastic year for Marvel Studios. Seeing this movie for the first time is one of the most pleasant theatre experiences I’ve ever had. People were predicting that this would finally be the MCU’s first flop; it turned out to be one of their greatest successes. James Gunn had sewn together one of the most entertaining and heartfelt comic-book films and populated it with wonderful characters that you want to spend time with. The Guardians themselves are such a bizarre mix of characters, but it absolutely works. Who knew a raccoon and a talking tree could be so relatable? One thing we’ve come to expect from the MCU is their near-perfect casting. Skyrocketing to A-list Hollywood status, Chris Pratt pulls off the quirks, quips, and becomes a leading man. Dave Bautista as Drax is the standout in this movie; his inability to understand sarcasm or metaphors makes for some great laugh-out-loud moments. One can’t forget to mention the soundtrack, which is one of the best of any film in recent memory. Each song perfectly fit the characters, the scenes in which they were used, and helps establish the tone. There are some instances where this movie should’ve fallen apart, but it didn’t. James Gunn instills such a confidence in what’s he crafting that the audience can’t help but go along with it. The film earns the more emotional moments near the end because of how well it mastered its difficult-to-nail-down tone; it’s all about finding family in the people around you, no matter how different they may seem. The team at Marvel figured out the boundaries of this movie, played within the fences, and generated a perfect balance between being serious, funny, and even goofy. If there’s one MCU film that’s destined to become a classic, look no further than ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’.
MY CUMULATIVE RANKING OF THE MCU
1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2. Guardians of the Galaxy
3. Iron Man
4. The Avengers
5. Captain America: The First Avenger
6. Iron Man 3
8. The Incredible Hulk
9. Thor: The Dark World
10. Iron Man 2
My review for Super Troopers 2 (2018)
The Super Troopers was the epitome of early '00s stoner comedy, so what's more fitting than having them return on 4/20?! Written by the Broken Lizard team and directed by Jay Chandrasekhar follows the vulgar and offensive state troopers who set up a new highway patrol station in the international border disputed area of Canada. The laughs arrive at a breakneck speed that would have these troopers spitting out their liters of cola if the film sped by them on the highway. If you've enjoyed brass and sexual humor, then "Super Troopers 2" will not disappoint. The premise is Infinitely stupider than "Farva", the contrived story unfolds more like a series of skits and sometimes feels disconnected. But the narrative is also ripe for "Broken Lizard's" brand of improvised-sounding comedy. The chemistry and acting between these actors feels fresh and is an enjoyment to watch, as it seems like they've could have gone on for hours before they ran out of material. The humor is mean spirited and filled with stereotypical jokes that just never get old, especially when you see the troopers try to do some variation of a cartoonishly over the top French Canadian accent. The plot can be directionless, but honestly, who came to this film expecting a good narrative? "Super Troopers 2" isn't going to win any awards or gain the attention of one minded critics, but the humor is amazingly tolerable, the acting is good, and it's definitely an energetic film to shut your mind off to. Heck, I couldn't stop laughing! Is that enough for you, you chicken f**ker?! .
Final verdict: 🍿🍿🍿🍿 Worth your time
Cinema Watch: Like to give indie movies some attention:
- Wildling is a coming-of-age horror fantasy with feral implications. Not something you see everyday, trust me. Part pubescent teen drama, part authentic horror and part whimsical fantasy. Do they all blend together to create an original piece of indie magic? Unfortunately not. A young girl is raised in captivity residing in a remote woodland cabin. She is discovered and must adjust to modern culture whilst on a journey of self-discovery. The initial hurdle that the film needed to jump was originality. It being an contemporary indie flick allowed the art to come forward and convey themes of motherhood and maturity in creative ways. However, despite the best of intentions it was all too familiar with inconsistent narrative tonality. 'Mama' meets 'Room' would be an apt description for the plot. Taking the fairytale horror from the former and embedding it into dramatic scope from the latter. The two didn't blend, at all. The separation from the first half to the second half was resolute. A simple *click* and the narrative shifts as if we are watching two short films consecutively. For what it's worth, both halves were independently engaging. The fantasy horror elements were produced with authentic makeup and succinct gore while the dramatic character development was thoroughly explored. A fantastically committed central performance from Powley who was enigmatic throughout. Wouldn't be surprised if she turned vegetarian after this. Tyler on the other hand, not so much. I just find her weak in everything. She lacks the "oomph" required to elevate the drama. The most unconvincing sheriff ever. Some character relationships, particularly Anna and Ray, were underdeveloped and came across as rushed. I wasn't invested in the chemistry thus consequently resulting in me becoming disinterested in the metaphorical subtext that Böhm attempted to convey. I always say indie films are hit and miss with me, sadly this is a miss. By all means a well produced flick with some interesting genre blends, just bites off more of the hamburger than it can chew. What can I say, not every film is to my taste.
Wildling = 5/10
