Happy International Woman’s Day! I believe in a God that created the world we know and everything in it. In Genesis when God is busy creating, he repeatedly says everything is ‘good’. The sun, moon and stars. The land and sea, the beasts of the field, the fish of the sea and the birds of the air; all good says God. Then all of a sudden when God has made Man he says “it is not good for Man to be alone”. So God makes Woman. Beautiful Woman from Adam’s rib; all her glorious curves and life giving organs, her ever loving soul. “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh,” says Adam. Finally he has his equal. One of my favourite commentaries about this moment is from Matthew Henry who says, “woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.” So a big shout out to all women today, even God knew everything would be fucked without us 💪🏻
Part of my work in this world, is helping women learn to love and value themselves, no matter their circumstances. I read the book “Captivating” by John and Stasi Eldredge, many years ago and it was one of those books that changed my perception of myself as a woman. One of my favorite realizations from the book was this…”Given the way creation unfolds, how it builds to ever higher and higher works of art, can there be any doubt that Eve is the crown of creation? Not an afterthought. Not a nice addition like an ornament on a tree. She is God’s final touch, his ‘piece de resistance’. She fills a place in the world nothing and no one else can fill.” How amazing is that?! God’s creation was incomplete without us! Happy International Women’s Day!
A ceramic relief given to me 25 years ago still makes me smile each time I see it. I just love the irreverent play on Michaelangelo’s “Creation of Adam” in all its details. I have no idea who created this piece, but I hope they’re still out there working today and sharing their keen insight.
I have been so intrigued by Michaelangelo and his work these past months. It's safe to say that he has inspired me to play around with naturalism and realism, keep an eye out for new pieces coming your way😉 #creationofeve#thefeelsartistry
Vibing this weekend in Kentucky with all this evolutionary, biblical knowledge absorbed in me. Visually, and mentally. I knew I would be so enthused about the Adam & Eve, Tree of Life, Garden of Eden part of the museum. It's earthy- realistic to me. Truth it in/ facts. Everything looked so real though. 😌I was inspired the whole time- creating/ writing a story in my mind. Just a bunch of things going on inside my head. I feel like a nerd; nerdy(I am one) 🤓😅😊Plus, about how chaos and sin were created when Adam & Eve bit into the fruit; which is the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. That's when he made Eve bear children, and cause pain. Something like that, and for Adam to go into the fields to work. Was funny what my aunt said yesterday about it. If it weren't for that us female wouldn't have to go through so much when it comes to bearing children. Biting the fruit, picking from the tree. Caused sin basically. Everything that wasn't supposed to happen. Also, Adam & Eve were Hebrew people. They're the first 2 people every human on this descended from. Until further more in more pictures I took of the info with it shown. I already knew all this since I was little. For them to finally build an exact representation of it is just.. yeah. Wow.
