There are days where a 60 minute workout flies by. And then there are days when you check every 5 minutes to see if it’s almost over. Today was one of those days. I was distracted by someone mowing the lawn, dust bunnies, overflowing toy bins. 🚜🏈 This workout drug on and on. It’s done though. It’s almost more satisfying. I mean it sucked today but it was worth it and it’s done. ✅ #day37#slowestworkoutever#todaythiswasmybest
When I was a little kid we would come to the city one day a year to see the Rockettes. When I got a little older I came a little more often but it was such a treat and my favorite treat was always a Frappuccino. You see there was this really cool coffee shop that had these amazing frozen coffee drinks and the one in NYC was the closest one. Apparently other people liked those frozen drinks too because that little coffee shop is pretty successful.
Today I’m in the city for work not pleasure and I got a hot drink instead of a frozen one but no matter the reason I always get a thrill from NYC.
It’s so easy to find a thrill when you’re little and it’s certainly harder as an adult but not impossible. Find the thrills in the every day. Seek your gratitude. #lookingforgratitude#findingthrills (Ask me when I’m still on the bus in 3 hours if I still get a thrill. I’ve stopped drinking the coffee just in case I need the ladies room....)
My new daily habit. My tracker. Way back when I used to write my food down and it was a great way to stay on top of it. I found it more effective than apps. As time has gone on I have converted a lot back to writing. It’s why after a few years of using an electronic calendar I went back to a planner. (#plumplanner this year). What I like about this planner that my little notebook didn’t have was that it asks me about how I’m feeling, mood for the day, self-care time and whether I went 💩. You know. All the important things. 😉
Next to that 📓 is my almost daily habit. A Mother’s Day gift from my mom, this book is like a daily devotional without the pressure to do it daily. I pick up up when I can or when I need it. I keep it out all the time so it’s easy to grab. And while I work hard to set good habits I struggle with books I’m supposed to read every day. I mean what do you do when you miss a day?? This book is perfect for a person like me. No pressure. 🌈 #onlylovetoday
