A bit syrupy and off-balance. Unfortunately, Sapporo has been 0 for 5 for me in terms of Rob Roys.

Named for Catherine of Aragon
1 oz Blended Scotch whisky
1 oz Irish Whiskey
¾ oz fresh lemon juice
½ oz Amaretto
¼ oz Demerara syrup
2 dashes Fee Brothers Black Walnut Bitters
—Shake with ice. Strain over king cube in tumbler. 🍋 peel garnish—
Another one I developed for @henrythe8th. Inspired by @mixography’s telling of a Cameron’s Kick. I needed a riff that kept the split base but didn’t require orgeat. So the liqueur-bitters-simple combo approaches the silky nuttiness of the original, while also pushing it into the realm of a drink best served on the rocks.
Lord knows we all need a pick-me-up because the weekend is nowhere in sight yet! The “Highlander” will do... plus more. 😅
• 2 oz Blended Scotch (Try Bank Note or Famous Grouse)
• 1/2 oz Cherry Heering
• Large Lemon Twist
Always creating new content. Stay tuned to find out whats in this rosemary infused cocktail.
From last night: A note: The Loganberry is a hybrid of a blackberry and raspberry that was first created by a happy accident in the Santa Cruz, California garden of Judge and Horticulturalist J. H. Logan in 1861, as the separate blackberry and raspberry plants grew near each and naturally the two plants intermingled. And thus the Loganberry was created from this natural hybridizing and was named in his honor. It's truly a best of both worlds fruit, that pairs the deep earthiness of the blackberry with the brightness of the raspberry. It can be used in pies, jams, fruit sauces for wild game, and of course can be used in eau de vies and liqueurs. This is my first time ever using one of Clear Creek's (of Oregonian National and Worldwide fame) excellent, sublimely crafted, award-winning products so I am very thankful to find it and try it in a deeply complex creation such as this immaculate tipple. Cheers. 🥂💯

Glassware has such an impact on my drinking habits and has served well to broaden my horizons. I noticed this cool grappa glass while hanging with my dude @benjamin.dunlop at @portlandvariety and just had to drink something from it - so @matt.janzen (our rockstar behind the bar) mixed me up something special.
Here’s a drink that is quite light and guilt free…not to mention delicious!
Drink: ROSE GLASSES
1 oz Dry Vermouth (he used Guerra @guerracanada)
0.5 oz Rose liqueur (he used Briottet @briottetliqueur)
2 dashes Peychauds
1 dash orange bitters
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir. Strain into a grappa glass and add 6 drops of Malva flower (butterfly pea flower) extract. garnish with lemon twist.

Do you know these meals, that are so tasty, that you could just go on eating and eating forever? We had one of those tonight. One that called loud and clear for @chembo_cocktails Braulio Martinez. 😉 I had slightly different ingredients but it was a great one. 👌
I still have no cherries, but I decorated a little bit alpinesk, as Braulio is an alpine amaro.
60 ml Adler Gin
30 ml Braulio Amaro
5 ml Maraschino Luxardo
5 ml Triple sec Grand Marnier
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Stir in a glass with ice and strain into a chilled glass.
Happy Birthday, Shakespeare! We're honoring this literary legend by using inspiration from his life and play writes to bring his imagination back to life through cocktails for our Test Kitchen Tuesday!
Earthly Branch from @thepeterboro. Gin, honey liqueur, ginger, lemon and angostura. Gin, ginger and lemon are one of my favorite bases for cocktails. Herbal and citrus notes always pair well together, especially ginger and lemon. Refreshing with a nice ginger bite at the same time!

Batavia-Arrack is a white whale in my bar lineup, I know it's there but I never seem to be able to capture. Those that have used it know it is a difficult task when first experimenting with the spirit. I decided to try and use it in something other than a punch for once and came up with thus that should def be sipped (bc it's strong 😳) uses strong nutty and herbal notes with sweetness to mellow out the Batavia Arrack while still making it a key player in the cocktails flavor. Cheers y'all!
2 oz white Rum
1/2 oz Batavia-Arrack van Oosten
1/2 oz Yellow Chartreuse
1/4 oz Velvet Falernum
2 dash @thebittertruthcompany Creole bitters
Combine all ingredients in a glass. Add ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a glass with ice and garnish.
Follow and check out the link in my profile for more recipes on the blog!
Batavia-Arrack isn't a spirit most people have used or maybe have even heard of, so if it's new to you I thought I'd give a tldr background. It is a spirit from Java and is one of the oldest known distilled spirits. It is molasses and rice based spirit that is oh so funky (keeping it technical here). It was quite popular in the 1700 and 1800s as it spread along the trade routes to the West, being often utilized as an ingredient in punches. Eventually it fell out of favor due to a few factors; #rum popularity increasing, tariffs and WWII. Because of its strong and unique palette I have found it best using it as a support spirit, smaller amount for more subtle cocktails and increasing it in cocktails where it can provide an interesting backdrop.
With all of our different patterns and textures we could keep posting teasers for months... 😏 ⠀
Don’t worry, we won’t! Finished product coming soon!
Spring is here people!🌿💐🌷 Bella Vida from @republictavern. Vida mezcal, cranberry-habanero grenadine, lime and ginger beer. The perfect spring cocktail for this beautiful weather in Detroit! Heat, a nice earthiness from mezcal, all kinds of citrus with nice refreshing carbonation. This cocktail is hot and keeps you wanting more.
Aahhhh yes. The Mojito.. The Mojito is the cocktail which most bartenders love to hate and would probably never order, but when a Mojito is done right the drink can be very fresh and enjoyable to drink. in my oppinion atleast 🍹 Have a good one!

Good luck to our Yaro, one of the finalists in today's Jameson Barrelman Battle with the “Black Pearl” cocktail creation: a Mediterranean twist on a whiskey cocktail, based on Jameson and powered by the molasses of Bacardi Black as well as cardamom, rose & lime cordial.
- "Cherry Sachertorte" (Valentine's Day Special) - Tasmanian Cherry, Mozart Dark Chocolate Liqueur, Pimento Dram, Apricot Cream
I don't envy the task of creating a Valentine's Day cocktail. I think this is fairly enjoyable, though the flavor of the cherries was a bit stifled by the other forceful ingredients.

I’d drink this classic every day!
🍾🇫🇷FRENCH 75 🇪🇸🍾
1 oz brandy XO
½ oz demerara syrup
½ oz fresh lemon juice
4 oz cava
—Shake all but cava with ice. Strain into chilled coupe. Top with cava. Garnish with extra long 🍋 peel (if you remember to do it, which I didn’t whoooopsie)—
Truth be told, this wide coupe isn’t ideal for this drink. Probably should have busted out one of my wine glasses or flutes. But I saw this neglected wide coupe at the back of the cabinet and went for it. •
