"I think I've come about as far as any man can...Let's see what I'm capable of now."
ColumCon was a lot more fun than expected! For a small event I felt like it was worth the trip downtown, especially getting to see Agi and more friends again, which I truly needed!
I was also glad to get to debut Chrom while Agi borrowed my Robin cosplay, even though this character was a relatively split second decision which meant that I opted to buy him rather than make him the way I originally intended. It worked well though, and decided to enter him into the cosplay contest since it was more focused on how in-character the cosplayers were. Doing my gung-ho schtick for this lovable bro landed me second place in the Advanced (?!) category, so that was a neat award to take home! I really do want to get better at competing, mostly at craftsmanship since both my awards were for performance lol, it honestly feels really good to earn an award, and the work and practise it takes to get there is its own reward too.
I had a pretty good time yesterday and am just hoping I get any time at all to sew before ACen soon, work and finishing grad school have not been kind to my free time ;-;
Chrom - Yours Truly
Robin - @yuomii
Last day at #columcon2018 had a good time and have lots of ideas for next year! It was amazing tabling next to @unik_grams got one of her egg charms, and thank you @dragonmaiden for being my assistance this year.
If you are seeing this, then this means that girl Zany is back~ I performed with @michiproject today and it was honestly such a blast that I can't wait for Acen to come around so we can kick ass at the Masquerade and JPop Battles! I was also really happy being back in girl mode back even though I am still not used to looking at no beard Kevin 😂
This was the only selfie I took today, look at this freaking derp and my ugly smile 😂
We apologise for the delay in announcing, but Michi!Project will be back at @columcon for a second year! We'll be hosting a performance panel on the performance stage on Saturday, 5 May at 1pm, and live-streaming it on our Facebook page for those who cannot attend!
ColumCon (formerly known as CG2) is a student-run convention founded in 2014 by a group of Columbia College Chicago students who wanted to bring the fandoms to the school! In its 5th year of running, the con features a Cosplay Contest, Artist Alley, Maid Cafe, and more! You can preregister for the con online (Link is on the ColumCon FB page!) And it cost 5 dollars to attend the con for everyone who is not a Columbia College student. Hope to see everyone there!!!
