It seems like a good time for an intro to say hi to my new insta friends. I’m Michelle I live in the Hills District in Sydney and am Mum to these two cute, yet crazy boys. I have the most amazing supportive husband not pictured cause I couldn’t find a decent photo of the four of us! I started painting less than a year ago and had no idea how much it would enrich my life! I’ve always admired art, dabbled in a little bit of art but now appears to be the perfect time to fully immerse myself into art. In the past 12 months, I have become obsessed with researching, studying and above all else practicing as many techniques as I possibly can. I believe that my art gets better with every piece which may sound egotistical but if I don’t back myself I can’t create. I hope you enjoy watching my journey and I would love to hear about some of yours.
It’s always bitter sweet when you say goodbye to a painting that you love! And I love that this is off to a gorgeous art filled home @lexiphotography! Such a beautiful home and I’m honored to have my work hang in it!! #happyartist#artonthemove
It’s Friday 🎶! The last two days have been focused on one of my least favorite (and most procrastinated) artist things: canvas edges. So I took a break to throw some color down and let my creativity steam roll over those straight lines that have been taking over my head space. Hope you all have a fantastic day and a fun weekend ahead 💗✨!
I enjoyed taking out some frustrations tonight with my teeny tiny little blowtorch. 🔥 Another flop in the books. I definitely over did it. Nonetheless, seeing my canvas start to bubble & flame was oddly therapeutic. So I wouldn’t call it a total flop. 🤷🏼♀️ Goodnight guys!
I’m still working on the finishing touches with this one from yesterday! I wanted to go ahead and post for those that were curious. I’m really loving the mix of flow & sharp in this one. 💥 Also, I cant wait to start covering paintings in some resin! Which type of resin do you guys favor the most? #artresin ??
Yesterday’s abstract mountain scene was a total flop! 🙅🏼♀️ In this case, I just couldn’t help myself to see how it turned out before it dried completely. Patience is a virtue!
At least I could salvage the canvas for more practice uses! 🤗
This was me and Kloe’s winter project. Now on display at the Rogue Art Gallery in Medford. Artists reception is tomorrow night Friday 5-8. Would so love to see a familiar face! #rogueart_#artistsreception
“Art is not a thing, it is a way.” - Elbert Hubbard
Pure truth, isn’t it? Art isn’t a finished painting that I hang on my wall-it’s hours at my desk listening to the story in the brushstrokes, it’s appreciating starlight and the way a sunrise rests against grass, it’s choosing again and again to do something that I can’t ever really explain. A way that expands the lungs of my days as they breathe deeper and deeper and deeper...
