I wrote another thing ✏ #CoeliacAwarenessWeek may be over but that's no reason to stop spreading advice and information. Only 24% of people with Coeliac Disease are clinically diagnosed meaning there is about 500,000 who are not yet diagnosed with the condition so there's still very much a need for accessible information to those who think they might have it, are in the middle of getting tested or have just found out. Welcome to the sucky guts club! The link in my bio will take you to my 10 top tips ➡
I recently won a competition from @fodyfoods and received two boxes of these Low FODMAP Almond Coconut Bars! I stopped eating ‘snack’ bars for a while due to the majority of them not being Low FODMAP but these are sooooooo good and are definitely becoming a staple snack for me 🙈! Look at how Nutty they are 😍, so so similar to Kind Bars so if you’re a fan of those you’ll love these! They’re also super sticky and chewy which is amazing, so much better than the Snack bars that are super dry and crumbly and don’t have whole nuts peeping in there!
Do you like the look of them?! So glad I found them, would highly recommend a gander if you’re following a Low FODMAP diet and love a good Snack Bar!
I made some quorn chicken arribiata pasta tonight with @quorn_uk gluten free pieces, @tescofood finest fresh arribiata sauce and @juvelaglutenfree fusilli pasta! .
This was a very enjoyable combination and the sauce is very sweet with a spicy kick and was really tasty. I added a pinch of pepper for some extra kick. The sauce is well worth trying, has no gluten containing ingredients and glad I discovered it as will definately eat again! ☺
Can you ever have enough roast potatoes 👀? These were absolutely AMAZING ! I cooked my sweet potatoes in garlic & paprika and the new potatoes in thyme infused oil, rosemary and salt. I had them with some salad, broccoli and Mexican pulled chicken 😍

Last post on @theprestonvillearms I promise🙊 just had to share this gluten free + dairy free + vegan sorbet with berry coulis, it was SO YUM, chef Monkeychops is killllling it🔥 still so happy I found a 100% gluten free pub in Brighton, major win! Recommend it to all the gluten free Brighton folk out there 👌 #thecoeliacfoodie
a #summersalad but better 🥗 don’t think this is fully #lowfodmap because of the butternut squash & there’s mixed info on tofu so not sure about that either but oh well i’m hungry (i didn’t get any symptoms from butternut squash yesterday and a recipe book says firm tofu is ok so just #riskingit 💃🏼) i know the dietician said i have to be super strict but can’t lie after just over a week i’m already bored of eating the same stuff and it’s impossible to be perfect so i’m trying my best 👑 as long as what i’m eating is #coeliacsafe#plantbased and doesn’t make me feel #sickandbloated then we gooood 💚🌱
Last week was coeliac awareness week - my latest blog post documents my coeliac diagnosis story! If you are coeliac, please do give it a read, I’d love to hear if anyone has any similar experiences ❤️🙏🏻

Main course at the wonderful @brownsbrasserie last night 😍 sirloin steak with chips and rocket. Really tasty! Super careful about cross-contamination as they're accredited by @coeliacuk and explained all the steak sauces weren't suitable (I wanted the peppercorn). However, it made my day when I asked for garlic butter 🙌🏻😜
Picked up these squares of yum for @calm.and.kind at @tfsundaymarket yesterday. One was a raw chocolate brownie and the other peanut butter and chocolate. Super delicious and gooey. Also got the boys a couple of fruit letters which they LOVED! Bex offers plenty of other treats which are all vegan and gluten free!
My new blog post is up about these wondering fruit snacks from @urbanfruituk ! I absolutely love these and think it is such a great way to get one of your five a day! I think my favourite is the smashing strawberry ☺️ The link to my blog post is in my bio ⬆️ What’s everyone else’s favourite? Have a fab Monday 💖
I have posted the ingredients, I personally do not know if this is gluten free. I have never noticed any trouble with it, even if I don't wash my hands after using it.
I thought I would share this @aussiehair ... I have been using this product for 10years, I haven't swapped. I use it everyday, to brush my little ones hair into a pony tail or bun. It helps with all the knots, without leaving any residue. I use it in the ends of my hair to brush and once I've braided it I spray it onto the top to help hold it in place abit longer (it doesn't work like that but I do).. I've been using it on my eldest since she was a baby and I use it once a day on hers to brush it all. It's really lovely. I'm not sure it makes our hair any better, but it is a fantastic de tangler and leaves no residue. Smells fantastic. Its lovely to take out on a hot day and spray onto your hair to refresh you. I take it on holiday in the sun, that's when I really notice it works. I use it to spray between swimming sessions and in the sun. Without this abroad our long hair becomes matted 😑... When using it on my little ones (under 2) I always sprayed it onto the brush, then brushed their hair. I have included some pictures of my hair and the girls so you know. Youngest had hers sprayed and put into a pony tail. Eldest had hers sprayed to braid that morning. Myself I used it as my hair was drying and then I styled it. I personally have tried others in the last 10years, but always go back to this. Really, really worth it. Often 3 for £10 @bootsuk plus boots points, so your not loosing!! 😁
Breakfast of dreams 😍 or too much?
A stack of @geniusglutenfree Pancakes, Banana, @myproteinuk Smooth Peanut Butter and Cacao Nibs, and a drizzle of Golden Syrup 🤤
Light and fluffy just like they say on the packet! The Genius Gluten-free Pancakes really are a winner if you don’t have time to make your own, they taste exactly like the scotch Pancakes I used to have 🙈
Couldn’t have started the day better! The only thing is I wish they lasted a bit longer 😳
Throwing back to yesterday’s post gym brunch in the sun🌼☀️ GF @warburtonsgf toasted tiger loaf, smoked salmon, GF sausages and a fried egg 😍🍳 Isn’t is amazing how far the Free From world has come, 20 years ago when my mum was first diagnosed with coeliac disease, no one knew what it was, eating out was almost impossible and you’d be lucky to even find 1 loaf of bread in a supermarket (let alone a delish artisan tiger loaf!). Who remembers prescription bread!?... I know a lot of people moan about prices, variety and some restaurants not offering options but we really have come so far😊! Happy Monday everyone, hope everyone has the best week 💛 #glutenfreedom
Could have made the plate a bit more colourful 🙈.
Marks & spencers gluten free Chicken Pie (fat content in the pie would make you want to cry, 40g for half a pie 😨) and mash potato 😍.
The pie was just what I needed, who doesnt love a bit of pastry, downfall is that it was slightly bland in flavour but it did the job 😏.
So as its the end of #coeliacawarenessweek today i thought i would share with you my story. In January i had an endoscopy (camera down my throat) and biopsy to determine why my bone density was low. I didnt feel poorly or have typical symptoms like stomach pain after eating gluten or bloating or toilet issues. I did however break my foot last year by just stepping barefoot to my side, as a result i was sent for a dexa scan to check for Osteoporosis.
Thankfully i dont have Osteoporosis but my blood test did flag up a concern for Coeliac Disease which was confirmed by the endoscopy earlier this year. What this means is i have been suffering with malnutrition for years as my intestines are damaged because of eating gluten which is found in wheat, barley and rye so things made with flour...pastry, cakes, biscuits etc most of the snacky treat foods, take aways, cereal etc i cant eat because i dont have an allergy or intolerance i have a disease.
If i eat gluten my body attacks itself, although i didnt have common symptoms i did have lots of others like asthma, excema, acne, mouth ulcers, ive had 9 miscarriages all of which are linked to the Coeliac Disease but no one ever joined up the dots.
I do struggle when out and about as i dont like to ask for gluten free so i usually just go without. Recently i went for a meal at a gluten free pub and think i was glutened...you can see by the picture of my face what eating gluten can do, there was nothing on my plate that contained gluten it seems my food was prepared where bread may have been cut or flour used and as a result i suffered from cross contamination. It took 8 seperate prescription medications to calm my face, neck, chest, arms and groin.
Coeliac Disease doesnt get better or go away, my diet changes are for life. I have got off fairly lightly there are some people suffering with Refractory Coeliac Disease Type 2 and for them there is no cure not even stopping gluten helps, there is only a 50% chance of survival past 5 years for these people. There is a Somerset Coeliac Group which has over 700 members 50 of these are children.
Today we finally enjoyed our first Power- Penrose bbq since moving into our house 🏡 Its also been officially five years since we first met each other and so much has changed over the last couple of years.⠀
We celebrated with making pork and prawn kebabs with grilled vegetables, lime and chive basmati rice and a serving of hummus with @bfreefoods pitta bread 🍅🌶🥒🍤 here’s to another successful #coeliacawarenessweek 🥂⠀
What has been your favourite part of Coeliac week? 🥞🥖🍕
Having a celebratory chinese takeaway as I start a new job tomorow. Discovered a restaurant in my local area (Bon Appetit, Coatbridge) that offer some gluten free options. I went for salt and pepper chicken, made with cornflour and fried rice with no soy sauce (does contain egg)! I like to add my own Tamari Soy Sauce from @morrisons to give some more flavour! .
Had a nice touch after placing my order over the phone the restaurant called to confirm what I can and can't eat and gave reassurance for my meal.
What do you guy's get when you buy gf chinese? I usually stick to chicken fried rice with no soy sauce!
